DISASTERS & THE WORDS of JESUS – Andrew Strom
When there seems to be one major catastrophe after another striking the nations of the world, people often ask, “Is this the Judgment of God?” Or just “natural” events? Or perhaps some combination of the two? How are Christians to view these things?
One of the most important insights into these questions was given
by Jesus Himself in Luke 13. He said: “Those eighteen, upon
whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that
they were sinners above all that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you,
No. But unless you repent, you shall all likewise perish.” (v 4-5).
So if we apply these words to Christchurch, for instance, it is
obvious that the people who died were not being “judged” for being
“greater sinners” than other people in New Zealand. In fact, I dare-
say that Christchurch was no more or less ‘sinful’ than any major
city in the country. It was a terrible tragedy that occurred, and it
should shake us all up. But they did not die because of their
“greater sins”. And clearly we are to have great compassion on
everyone caught up in this terrible event.
The one area that I believe God IS speaking very strongly about in
both the Christchurch earthquakes is the shaking of the CHURCH.
In fact, the Church was the focus of my entire article a couple of
weeks ago on this awful disaster. Some people thought it was
about the city of Christchurch. My sincere apologies if you thought
that. My focus was the CHURCH – not the city – and the sad
inadequacy of the Christian response after the first quake – which
did have consequences, I believe.
I am convinced that we have now entered the hour when “Judgment
begins at the house of God”. When we see the only major city
that is called “Christchurch” in the Western world being hit by two
massive earthquakes – and many of the buildings most damaged
are church buildings – you have to ask the obvious questions. Is
God speaking to the church in no uncertain terms about the
“Shaking” that is now beginning in Christendom? Are we about
to see this ‘Shaking’ grow much worse, even to the taking down
of many major ministries and voices in the church? -I have to
believe so.
It seems to me that the world has recently “turned a corner” where
these kinds of catastrophes are suddenly much more common all
around the world. Economic and political turmoil are likewise in
the ascendant. Surely we have to conclude that these are some
of the “birth pangs” described by Jesus – which are set to grow
much worse before the end.
The HUMANISTIC RESPONSE
One of the things we need to watch out for as these things grow
worse, is immersing ourselves too much in the “humanistic”
viewpoint of the mass media. You will notice that now during
these tragedies, the media is right there in people’s faces, bringing
as much of the trauma and grief of every tragic story home to the
viewer in as lurid a way as they can. You can watch for hours as
tragic stories play out one after the other in front of your eyes. But
none of it is from God’s point of view. It is all from the viewpoint of
man – in fact, “secular human” man. This is something to be
careful of.
God looks at things from an “eternal” point of view. To Him the
greatest disaster is for man to die in an unsaved state – totally
unprepared for Judgment and eternity. God is even willing for there
to be great shaking and turmoil in the earth, if it causes men to
seek Him and find eternal salvation. There is none of this in “man’s”
media. It is just a total “human” trajedy and they have no interest
in eternity at all.
As the very end approaches and the earth enters the actual
Judgments found in the Book of Revelation, we see that this
“humanistic” viewpoint comes even more to the fore. Instead of
repenting as all these judgments and disasters are hitting the earth,
it seems as though people will be literally shaking their fist at God,
saying, “How dare you send such things upon us? How dare you
be so destructive and demand that we repent?”
If all we consider is the “human” tragedy, then we can easily get
caught in the same trap. We forget that the biggest disaster in the
Universe is to die unsaved and unprepared for Eternity. That is the
worst possible thing. We cannot immerse ourselves in “humanistic”
media to the point that we only think of disasters in “human” terms.
There are wider issues here – and we must make sure to take on
God’s point of view – not the view of “humanistic” man.
But to be sure, we must “weep with those who weep”. When we
see tragedies, like Jesus we must not close our hearts to the
broken and the hurting. Jesus wept and so must we. Let us always
keep Eternity’s viewpoint uppermost, however.
Again, I send love and tears to our dear friends in Christchurch -
and everyone else caught in recent disasters around the globe.
As I have said, Christchurch to me was one of the most beautiful
cities I have ever seen, and we have lovely friends there that are
very dear to us. May God be with you all at this devastating time.

I agree that the body of believers are going to be shaken, but also the world’s system is going to be shaken as well. I had a vision of bracing myself while the ground shook and rumbled, almost as if I was weathering through the storm. We are not to fear but know and understand that we are in the boat with Jesus. Prepare your hearts and don’t get “shaken” by the trembling around us. It will be a season of endurance and keep your focus on Jesus. Be anchored to Him who is our security. Our lives will show forth who or what we have trusted in.
He is showing us how severely He hates sin and how His judgments will come even on those that are not in obvious sin, but are busy about living, ignoring their Creator, Savior and Lord or practicing lip service without the true motives of the heart being after Him.
We will all know the judgment of the Lord, as He once said to me, “Judgment is sweet to those that love Him.” How could love be pure without the judgment of evil. Judgment brings repentance, this is the Lords design. Wrath brings destruction, this will come after His grace given by His judgments to lead men to repentance, then when He has completed all things, wrath will be poured out on all that is evil.
It has only just begun…
Andrew, you brought out a good question when you pointed to Jesus’ words about the tower that fell and killed 18 people.
Question: Were the ones in Sodom and Gomorah greater sinners than all the others? It seems Yes. Why were they greater sinners, and the 18 on whom the tower fell, not greater sinners?
Hi I have just recently began to look at some comments on Forum. I have no comments to make regarding each entry other than to say, perhaps we need to be careful how we address each other otherwise we can become like the pharisees who debated over all banner of things I know we have the right to free speech, but we need to remember that in looking at words on paper, a lot of misinterpretation can occur (I have found this with text messages on mobile phones) When we write our thoughts a lot of what we mean cannot be adequately imparted as there is no facial expression or tone in the voice and we can mean one thing and the receiver will often receive through their own perceptions. I hope what I have just written is not received as a judgment on anyone, could we choose some of our words more carefully as those who are not YET saved will become confused. We are not out to win an argument, but too express our hearts safely.

My dear brother, No truer words were spoken. It’s time for “religious” people to get off their horses and start walking with the Lord Jesus Christ. It saddens my heart to see the condition of the churches today. I know of only one in this area that truly seeks the face of our father and does what the Lord wants done. His name is Steve Warren. He has a small church in Buffalo Valley Tennessee. His church is seeing people saved nearly every Sunday and he is baptising alot of people at one time. He is building a bigger building due to the number coming in. They are mostly drug addicts, and alcoholics…….and its a wonderful thing to see. May God continue to bless your work and his also. Just last night I had a dream where I was in a church. It seemed that bombs were falling, severely damaging the building. The church’s architecture was dated, very old, but the ceiling was a modern acoustical ceiling with modern lights. I now remember that the ceiling was the only portion of the building that was intact. A group of leaders had gathered in the damaged building and were discussing what had happened.
I have circulated Andrew’s last message about his experience with the disunity and cold-heartedness of the the Christchurch believers.
Well over a year ago, the Lord gave me a vision which I now much better appreciate and understand.
In the vision I was looking from a high place at a river and all along the shoreline were small, little churches.
Suddenly, the two large nail-scarred hands of the Lord came out of the heavens with a sifting pan, much like gold miners of old used. The pan was dipped into the soil along the river’s edge, and many churches were collected into the sieve.
The Lord then began to “sift” the collection. Many churches fell through to the riverbed and crashed into thousands of pieces.Those that were left were gently removed and placed on the river’s edge.
This process continued until all the churches were either destroyed or lovingly placed back along the river’s edge.
Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Behold, I will shake my church. Those that remain steadfast and true to the end will drink of the rivers of life.”
Our entire world is, indeed, being shaken, but the only shaking that should “move” us is that which is borne of the loving hands of our Father as He continues to shape us into the image of His beloved Son, that all may see and know the One true Living God.

Mr. Strom, I’m glad you mentioned that instance where Jesus mentioned two ‘disasters’ and said neither was from God (etc.). The Bible doesn’t teach that God sends disasters (at least not now) as people say He did to such places as New Orleans, California, and New York. If He did, every city and town and state would be in turmoil from His judgments. But the Church is coming into shakings (soon, I hope), because we are in dire need of salvation.

It isnt easy though. Just look at a rock sifter. It shakes rattles and rolls until all that is left is the desired product.
Another thing we often miss. The “Church” is not a building, it is the entire body of believers and from what I see of the body around me here in the southeastern area of Virginia is very luke warm. What happened in Christchurch wasn’t so much about the church there but the words of the Messiah about the events that would happen prior to His return, see Matthew 24:6-8.
I agree with the whole are they more sinful that you premise.
Also with Kalev I believe that most of ‘the church’ are mostly ‘out of church’ and therefore the shaking will go on in the real body of Christ. There is a good chance that unless we are fellowshipping with the real body of christ that we will not see a mass shaking but only experience it within our own lives and maybe the lives of a few others.
Andrew, there is hope for you yet (lol). This is one of the best articles I have seen you write in a long time, and you do a fine job of explaining the questions that are being asked.
What we do not realize is that God holds us, the true Church, responsible for the world’s condition. We are the salt and the light of the world, but if the salt has lost it’s savor, wherein will it be preserved? Soon the call of the Lord is going to be “come out of her my people…” And a new work is going to take it’s place, a strange work, a Kingdom rather than what we understand as the “church” with buildings and services, and ministers.
If you want to see what Ezekiel saw in his vision of this “shaking” read chapter 34, and God’s judgment against the sepherds of Israel, and how God is going to hold them accountable for the destruction that has happened to the Earth.
While everybody in church is satisfying their lust for spiritual experiences, and manipulating the Lord’s throne for finances to satisfy their lust for material possessions, the World suffers ruin and wickedness because the salt has lost it’s savor. This is why judgment must first begin at the house of God, so the Lord can get our attention, for the world’s sake, so that the darkness does not take complete control over the Earth. We are going to be the one’s God holds responsible for the great “shaking” that is going on. And what better a message than to hit a place called “Christchurch”. The omen is obvious. The problem is not the world or it’s influence…it’s us! We are the problem, and we are allowing the devil to take control he was never intended to have.

Excellent overview of this event, and of our times. I also noticed in the many youtube videos I watched of the earthquakes, they all without exception had people cursing at those who would suggest that God had anything to do with what happens in this world. While I don’t call it “judgment” on this city or people – I also see the humanist outrage that anyone would suggest that there is any higher power than man himself. Gave keen insight into the mindset of modern man.

You are absolutely correct, Andrew. It is a shaking, the world is being shaken we all are, to take Him seriously (for real). Praise God for His love and care and the ultimate tragedy is, indeed, not to know the Lord Jesus as Saviour, Director, indwelling Presence that comforts, heals and guides.

A prayer that has had meaning to me recently is from Daniel.
It is rather heavy, but is no sense of condemnation. (Condemnation is from the enemy and whenever it is felt can be rejected. The Lord Jesus does convict but with love, certainty and hope.)

Yes! When I saw your first report, I thought “CHRISTCHURCH… WOW”. It’s not about a city. It’s about God’s worldwide Church shaking. Man-made structures collapsing. Like Jesus said would happen of the temple. I don’t mean literal buildings. I mean “ministries” coming down. We’ve seen many very high-profile ministers coming down. Adultery, divorce, homosexuality, to name a few of the hidden stuff that’s being exposed. Not that I want to be judgemental but there is coming a time when the Lord is not going to put up with any of that anymore. Remember what happened to Ananias and Sapphira? That kind of thing may begin to happen again.
Let us fear and tremble!!! The Lord’s Gospel is not something to play with. His eternal laws are not exactly optional. Holiness is not for the more mature… Unless Jesus is our Lord, we may get the “I never knew you” response.
Let us receive judgment now that we will receive commendation and rewards then. Let us accept whatever the Lord is telling us individually.
The Bible tells us clearly, “I am the Lord. I change not.” Yet somehow professing Christian think God has changed and He no longer judges the earth like he did in Bible times. “Let God be true and every man a liar.”
God continues to judge the nations and people of the earth in His way and in His time. The reasons for His judgments are the same today as in old testament times: idolatry, rebellion, rejection of God and His Son, wicked behavior, innocent blood shed, and so on.
My country, the United States, is currently under the judgment of God, yet most who profess Christ seem to be unaware of what is happening. The blinders are on their eyes, a sign of the blindness in their hearts.

You are right on about the shaking. Or rather- the distresses – that God is bringing upon the Earth.
These events, which will be very unpleasant, are intended to wake people up, to break down their arrogance and their dependence on the temporary luxuries of this era. It seems that God – so often – has to bring us down low, so that we will look up and be saved.
But what are WE to do?
But that which God is calling us to do. Think of Jesus and the apostles. Their focus and activity centered around what God wanted them to do – moment by moment. Even though, in their times there was great danger and opposition.
We will be of no use to anyone if we don’t get on with the job that God is calling us to.
We each have to return to Him in an intimate walking / talking relationship. And through FAITH, great Holy Spirit exploits can be done to;
1. Win people to Christ,
2. Heal the broken hearted.
3. Preach the Gospel with (His) Power
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come”
– This will be done by God’s methods and not man’s.
Seek for His Baptism in the Holy Spirit, Seek God to lead you into what to do, Seek God on what He wants you to pray.
We have to stand up as His banner in the World. HE is only going to bring in the Harvest through our obedience to Him. The decision to accept or reject Christ rests with the individual. But we can do an awful lot – with our Lord- to help them make the right decision.
This is what we can do.

I believe God has already pronounced judgment on the modern Churches of America with few exception. Their idolatry, false gospels and watered down gospels, false conversions, pseudo repentance, and their church politics that refuses to follow the Biblical guidelines; their firing pastors who are men of God and lifting up false hirelings; driving out true Christian on fire for God or putting out the flame in hearts of believers, teaching rebellion to the word of God; proclaiming the day of miracles is past or perverting the holiness of God with lying signs and wonders; adding and subtracting from the Scripture. Then specifically, accepting homosexuals in the church without repentance, even making them pastors and leaders, denying miracles in the Bible, denying the Creator and His Creation and embracing the heresy of evolution. Selling out Christ for money, for fame, for acceptance among men, refusing to take up the cross and suffer persecution…I could go on and on. As my preacher friend, Pastor Steve Brown, M. Div Asbury, said yesterday, God has given the churches over to reprobate minds because they have rejected His Son and teach rebellion to the people.
The Word of the Lord is clear to all believers in churches throughout America: Leave these fruitless ministries with all their heresy and abominable fleshly works, take up your cross, and follow Jesus by faith. Seek for true Christian fellowship, and most importantly, repent of your support of these ungodly ministries and your faithlessness to Jesus. Then, humble yourselves, seek the Lord. He will then guide you.
If you think you can come out unscathed you are lying to yourselves. If you think you have not already compromised, you’ve believed a lie and are in sin. If you think you will save these churches by being a part of them, you are fooling yourself and will be pulled into judgment and oblivion yourself. Escape now while you have any light at all, or you will lose every bit of light you ever had. Do not think yourself good or great as you come out. Admit your foolishness and pride and unbelief, then go on with Jesus.
Every week people remain in these abominable ministries they become weaker and fall into further darkness. You cannot remain under false preaching and in compromise without suffering dire consequences to your soul. “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”
Gal 6:7-8 (KJV)
If you want to come out of the darkness in the modern church in America, contact me and I’ll direct you to some good resources. This is not a game. I’ve been through this and have felt the devastation in my own soul. Only by the grace of God and the help of an on fire preacher/friend, did I come back to the Lord Jesus. Please consider your ways. If you see no serious problems in the modern church your spiritual life is nearly gone. Repent while you see anything. Do not take the light you have for granted. “And if the light that is in you be darkness, how great is that darkness.”

Andrew, Bro Stephen Jones actually posted your email on the leaders at Christchurch on his daily web blog at http://www.gods-kingdom-ministries.org/weblog/weblog.cfm …. please go see it. He agrees that authority has been taken from the church and handed over to the overcomers to bring in the eternal kingdom. Judgment has to be part of all this, Feb 28th was a day he wrote about also siting the Hezekiah factor. This is a 10 year factor. 10 years before this date on 02/28/2001 we had an earthquake here in Seattle (where I am now) and the dome of the WA state capital (which relates to WA DC in prophecy) craked. Our capital city name is Olympia. This relates to the fall of Babylon as the Illuminati call themselves “Olympians” and there are depictions of Olympia Greek gods on the Washington CD capital relating to this. 10 years before that on 02/28/1991 the 1st gulf war ended also depicting the fall of Babylon as Iraq is on the soil of original Babylon. These things are on Stephen’s blog but since all this relates to the crack in the ground at Christchurch, I suggest we all sit up and pay attention!! God bless you, Kevin

Have you noticed the strange weltanschauungs (comprehensive world views) going on?
1) In the modern secular world, you have generally accepted extreme liberalism/socialism/intolerance based on the lies of political correctness.
Coming out of that, you have equally bizarre and strange weltanschauungs of various churchianity flavors….
2) Deep emotionalism and mysticism, including the jabberwocky prophetic, the mojo-jive shouting church, the dry-bones intellectual crowd, the word-the-word-the-word rigid righteous small-thinkers, the word-of-faith crowd that makes themselves gods, the rapture-is-coming-because-it’s-bad-now (like in WWI, WWII, and every other bad time when rapture didn’t happen), and to wrap all this insanity up … NONE, NO NOT ONE group sees itself wide-angle amongst the other lugubrious loonies! SHEESH! NONE HAVE SELF-AWARENESS.
In Christianity, you first have babies. Babies love the above (oops, did I leave out greed of prosperity? Or slouch of emergent? Or stupor of seeker-friendly-gotta-have-coffee-in-the-church? Or “hey, let’s do it the way they did 100 years ago”?)
What happens when Christians mature? Well, first off: They are DESPISED by the babies, the baby Christians so sure of themselves, yet TOTALLY UNAWRE of themselves! (God, it is so ironic. God must love irony!)
What happens when maturing Christian start seeing? Unfortunately, beginning seers get VERY EMOTIONAL about their site and seeing. What they see, is SO AMAZINGLY IMPENDING! It’s gonna happen, NOW, NOW, NOW! Or, SOON!
Then… mature seers find out this strange thing: When they were baby seers, the things they thought were SO AMAZINGLY IMPENDING… didn’t happen so quick, if at all. If ever. Oops, some of the things we saw as baby seers, aren’t ever going to happen. In other words, NEVER!
No, the world kept turning. This is SUCH A SHOCK to adolescent seers. Pity the poor people who made regrettable actions (like leaving family) because of nascent seers who thought the you know what was going to happen tomorrow!
But tomorrow always comes, despite what the baby seers proclaim otherwise.
This too is wisdom, all you folk who think God’s hand is SO AMAZINGLY EASY TO MOVE! That everything is happening or ABOUT TO HAPPEN by your say.
Well, my guess is that God is patient and wants us all to mature. Especially seers.
And that takes patience.

G-d is to be praised! I got this email in my inbox a few days ago and I believe it is Him confirming what I had said to others when this happened. I had NO idea how this email ever got sent to me as today was the first day I’ve ever seen this website so I registered. A friend of mine forwarded an email from a prophetic evangelist friend of his and the title of the email was; “THE SHAKING IN CHRISTCHURCH”. I did a double take when I read the title because it is symbolic for the ‘shaking in Christ’s church’. A shaking isn’t a bad thing, He will separate wheat from tares at the end, but He wants us to come to a full awareness of His presence and His hand over us. G-d is not to be mocked and America has been in danger for many years of His wrath. For those of us who are believers, I believe this is a time to get “suited up” if you will, and examine our own lives, what dowsn’t line up with scripture, should get lined up. We also have to know that WE NEED HIM! He created us to love.
Over the summer last year, He spoke to me about separating wheat from tares and it was good and powerful! G-d loves us and He’ll protect us even if this nation falls before the ‘catching away’ comes…we ned to be diligent in our prayers,m get our lives lined up, pray for Israel, and KNOW Him.
You know, Andrew, I wanted to tell you what I thought of your last posting….but after reading all of the comments, I forgot what you wrote?…I don’t have ‘mencha’….OH, YES, YES! An excellent letter to the church. It really needs no adding to. Thanks. You and David Wilkerson hit it out of the park this month.
To me the question whether disasters are God’s judgement or not is really not all that important. Fact is: according to Scripture, these things MUST happen and then the end…
In view of the end-times and what we are seeing in the middle east and with increasing disasters…
God is indeed looking to the Church, His people who are His representatives here on earth. I believe He always has. Think about it this way:
Suppose you are the manager (leader) of a store and you have several employees to help you run the operation. All, in some way, have been equipped to do the job for its owner who lives somewhere else.
“Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us…”(Rom.12:6). “And unto one He gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability…” (Matt.25:15).
Of course, the owner is checking the customers to determine how successfully you are running the store, but when it comes to direct questions etc. concerning His business, He is naturally dealing with the staff He is paying (heavenly rewards).
“For the Son of man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels; and then He shall reward every man according to his works” (Matt.16:27). “Now He that planteth and He that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God”(1Cor.3:8,9). “Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ”(Col.3:24). “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with Prayer me, to give every man according as his work shall be”(Rev.22:12).
Needles to say, the Church hasn’t done the best job to run God’s business and to represent Him well. Would God deal with, or even punish, the customers of the store when the staff is not doing their job?
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2Chr.7:14).
Here is an example of how God deals with a nation truly under Him:
“…our eyes are upon Thee. And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the Lord, worshipping the Lord. And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.”
They didn’t even have to fight, God took care of the problem.
I believe with these disasters coming upon the earth, a great dividing will happen. Those who are sitting on the fence (lukewarm) will have to make a choice.
“…choose you this day whom ye will serve” (Josh.24:15).
But there will be those, as Andrew pointed out, who will shake their fist at God. These disasters must happen so that people will be driven to think hard and decide which side they will choose.
One important issue here: The disasters must also happen because they will open the door for the anti Christ to come on stage. Without major troubles on this earth no one would really be driven to cry out for a saviour, people would just keep going, walking through life without deep questions. Many will view the anti Christ as a saviour who will save them from all of these troubles.
However, few will find the narrow gate, because the way is not an easy, man-pleasing, one. There will soon come a leader who will speak as Paul the Apostle spoke–not just with man’s wisdom, but with the power and anointing of a spirit. He will speak to the spiritually hungry and satisfy their hunger. He will appear as kind, understanding and accepting of all. He will speak with a soothing authority to those afraid of war and economical and environmental disasters.
They will call him a peacemaker who has come to eradicate wars and to unite the nations. He will put a soothing balm on the widows and mothers of fallen soldiers.
He has come to bridge the gap between races and religions. He will fight for the cause of the poor and underprivileged. He will say that compromise and accepting of others are signs of humility and love. He will say that God has many names, and that acts of love and kindness are the right way to Heaven.
He will fight against anyone who will try to impose his or her “personal” beliefs on others. He will oppose anyone who claims that there is only one, exclusive and true faith and only One Name by which we must be saved, Jesus Christ.
Stand firm on Jesus! He Is the only way, truth and life. All else is sinking sand!
But He will be rejected again, and with Him all who have His testimony and who are not willing to compromise!
“And the dragon (satan)went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ”(Rev.12:12,17).”
In Christ alone!

“The Rise of Anti-Western Christianity,” an article that discusses how the largest portion of Christians now and in the future… are from Third World Nations, from South America, Africa, Mexico and such. (They might bring revival to the north?)
These Christians are “non-Western” and growing, growing, growing! This “GLOBAL SOUTH” will, perhaps, send missionaries to the decrepit, dying Christian world of developed nations, i.e. “GLOBAL NORTH” to help moderns.
The Global South Missionaries might be able to REVITALIZE the dying north churches. Or so the article posits.
Except for this problem: Just as European Christianity introduced pagan rituals regarding Christmas and Easter….. the GLOBAL SOUTH introduces elements of witchcraft, brown-skinned saints, ancestor worship, etc., etc. into its churchianity.

This is not your (north globe) pastor’s normal narrative on missions. Quite the opposite, really.
The idea is that modern nations are mostly secular. Third worlders have faith!
So glad you posted this Andrew, and this along with other things, are causing such a convergence of thoughts right now that my mind doesn’t even know how to express it coherently yet. Yes, that tower of Siloam, such a good word – and how could we be showing love and mercy if we are judging with the judgment of God at the same time, that wouldn’t make sense.
What Jeff was saying in the other thread, ties in with this somehow, just as our physical bodies have a natural shelf-life because of the fall and are passing away and we are waiting for our glorified bodies, so likewise the rest of creation which is presently likewise in bondage to decay, is waiting to be brought or restored to its glorified state, and it is also passing away, breaking apart in the meantime? What we have called “judgments” are actually the birth pains, the turmoil of labour, of the old passing away in a very real way and the new glorified version being born..? (in the natural, mothers often die giving birth)
When I see the fruits of believing in the love and mercy of God being shown forth in the life of a saint, well it draws me and brings me to Jesus. When i see the fruits of believing in condemnation and judgment, in a Christian’s life, that makes me shrink away. Just my observation.
Hope this all makes sense even if in a disjointed kind of way, lol!

Clearly, God is not supporting revival,
Sans Greek, Jewish, Gothic-Christian Enlightenment,
The world can’t say, “Yes, God, Yes Socialism!”

Is to promote “Yes, God” never mind Western history,

Do evil, with their god’s blessing: Church is too PC!
The intelligence failure,

To orthodoxy and intelligence: stand fast!

Embarrassingly stupid?

Confessing: charms,

In That Day,

Dear Friends, Don’t discount the intelligence and soul wherewithal it takes to see thru the lies of prosperity shenanigans, rapture shenanigans, emergent slouch-thinking shenanigans, prophetic jabberwocky (Hey DUDE, I have a word-of-warning-about-something-imminendt-that-sounds-real-COOL!), or general lazy, crazy churchianity shenanigans! The giant mind of mankind is slowly, but surely: WAKING UP! Hurray! Hallelujah! (ABOUT TIME, aren’t you glad God’s patient?)

What is In That Day?
Well, in truth, it’s a thing very grand,
For the first time sheep,
Suddenly see: The Other Hand!
The Other Hand in shenanigans,
Of self-interested wolf-shepherds,
Who have kept brains generally dark,
Lest sheep see their odious wolf records.
Intelligence is on the march,
So is recompense,
Sheep now ask shepherds why their talk,
Makes almost no sense.
Prosperity pimps sell greed,
Illogical indulgences,
Rapture pimps sell fear dolled up,
Making not sound minds: but dunces!
Gone is self-checking correction,
That used to guide Western civilized man,
In place posing are brainy tyrants,
Taking sheep for all the soul-strength they can.
Except the internet and man’s quest for truth,
Have stopped the mystic shepherds flat!
The nascent smart can’t be made dumb again,
They see the fake rabbits in fake hat!x
The late, great mystic tyrants,
Whose Other Hands we never really could see,
Are caught in their cookie jars,
Which kept Christ-in-You from you and from me.
Kept from us, by fey wolves we were kept dumb,
And blind as a rock,
But now with power, love and a sound mind,
In That Day: takes stock.
Dear Friends, Let’s become aware that non-God-indwelt leaders of churchianity, produce non-indwelt followers. UGH! But Christ-in-You leaders produce indwelt souls, souls God delights in inhabiting. The implications of Christ-in-You-ness: profound. Leaders that can’t do it, know nothing about it, nor do their sheep!
Thus, In That Day is a day of great awakening, awakening from gross darkness (non inhabitation of God) in many souls, souls that may have been in lotsa church! What a day of awakening! WOW! Is that not true revival?

Tyrone, Excellent reference! Men are but men, but Christ-in-You men, now that’s a horse of a different color! (To misquote a favorite movie, The Wizard of Oz!)
Indwelling at substantial levels… that is something either unknown, disbelieved, or celebrated In That Day, which is today, which is supposed to be a BIG AWAKENING. But same-old-church pretty much is clueless, especially the big broadcasters of churchianity, the same broadcasters most of same-old-church looks to for edification. It would be a mistake to look for edification in broadcast churchianity… since correction and humility are things unknown to them.
Hence: For a long time God has not been able to live in churchianity’s leaders.

Explain to all that “poor and humble” just won’t do,
I asked him, Was he not surely letting in pride?
He looked me in the eye and said, Step aside.
Then I watched the world’s most famous healing man,
Reach for a Five Star glamour life as much as he can,
I asked him, Wasn’t he taking donors for a ride?
He looked me in the eye and said, Step aside.
Then I saw a famous evangelist at his megalopolis event,
With almost every Christian sign conspicuously absent,
I asked him, This switch bait tactic, you don’t deride?
He looked me in the eye and said, Step aside.
Then I saw the big family of the biggest Christian network,
Where entertainment was the king and truth had to lurk,
I asked them, Must in ways of the world you confide?
They looked me in the eye and said, Step aside.
Then I saw Christian ministries broadcasting by the dozen,
Each similarly compromised, almost like a witch coven,
I asked them, How can you in falseness have relied?
They looked me in the eye and said, Step aside.
Then I saw striving preachers in developing countries remote,
Where corruption has always had their sheep by the throat,
I asked them, These broadcasters, you see they have lied?
They looked me in the eye and said, Step aside.
Then I said, Woe is me, I am the Spirit of Truth defied,
Who believes in me truly? Who’ll stand by my side?
The remnant, God’s seers, whom to self have died,
Looked me in the eye and said, We abide.
Then I saw the great remnant rising up to stoically restore,
Me, the Spirit of Truth, back in God’s people once more,
I asked them, Against darkness how turn you the tide?

Now, the answer to most problems is more maturity,
And with My Spirit of Truth lives calm surety,
Will you buy the easy Christian way cried?
Will you, like them, tell Me, Step aside?
For In That Day of great abiding when saints of Christ-in-You are in,
And We decide just who-in-Christ is without and who is within,
We will echo back to whom on earth to the Trinity replied,
Step aside, We step aside. But to abide, We abide!
Thank you so much for sharing this, especially the warning about getting caught up in the media coverage of all these tragedies and catastrophes that are happening. It is so easy to do, and yet it is of utmost importance to get the mind of the Lord and allow Him to inform and direct our response to such events.
When labor contractions start, the pregnant woman knows that soon, soon, there will be a delivery of a new beginning. The contractions narrow down, until they are just seconds apart. The delivery team prepares the room — the cradle is brought in, the doctor suits up, and then, delivery begins. After a few minutes, there is the cry of the newborn. The cord is snipped. The newborn is wrapped up and cradled. The delivery is over. Now begins the journey!
So it is with what the planet earth is doing. The contractions are narrowing down to the last seconds. We should be preparing — are we? There will be a delivery — are we ready?
The King is coming!

To paraphrase Upton Sinclair:
It’s hard to get a Christian to understand Christ-in-You-ness when he believes his job is to not see Christ-in-man, but rather to talk about religion without ever being indwelt or honoring those who are in-God and doing much in the way of God-bearing.
The churchianity man would rather believe a never-arriving utopian scheme of God’s visible return, despite God proclaiming Himself a spirit, a spirit who says he’s much interested in living in men of mature, not adolescent, character.
But adolescent Christian minds prefer any scheme that will occupy their minds without bothering with testing the spirits of themselves and others as to if they have much Christ-in-You-ness. Because immature Christians, by definition, fail most Christ-in-You spirit tests, and that pops the bubble on their utopian schemes, which also by definition, never come because that is the nature of utopias: they are dreams unobtainable, by their essence utterly unobtainable.
But Christ-in-You-ness is as close as In That Day, which is now.
As for ever-increasing disasters: They also test the spirit of men, whether they be in-Christ-bearing, or not. Fear comes to all who are not much-in-Christ, especially the crazy utopia-believers, i.e. rapture-in-fear believers!
But en-Christed people are a people who have calm in storms. They are very handy to have around in disasters. They have a clue, and know what to do! They heal. They are in position. They are the hands, feet and mind-of-Christ!
But en-Christedness is a level-to-level thing, a thing taking time, a thing of faith.
Usually when disaster strikes, it is too late for milk-drinking, utopian-thought baby Christians. They wish they could have been eating steak and been prepared.
Woe to those still nursing (their baby-Christian-program-agendas), but hurray for the prepared-and-not-surprisingly-much-IN-Christ!
Sadly, large events like earthquakes, tsunamis, fires and such bring out the utopian rapture believers who know putting fear on the top of churchianity minds will sell lots of rapture books, or at least get a lot of fear going and finally — occupy the minds of baby Christians with ANYTHING EXCEPT MATURE INDWELLING.
Interestingly, those end-times believers caught up in some catastrophe are prime suspects to say to themselves, “You know, that rapture book didn’t do NUTIN’ for me in this disaster. Rapture never came! The end of the world never came, neither! But my neighbor who is so fantastically indwelt of God, that neighbor does real well with man and God. Us end-times fans, we just had fear to munch on. A lot of good that does a disaster-struck people!
So people OUTSIDE the devastation zone can INCREASE their fear-based-end-times shenanigans….. While the people going through the devastation zone can REALIZE how little end-time-fear-mongering helps people in difficulty.
So the people in the disaster zone can MATURE in GOD! Because they have to.
It’s harder for people stuck on end-times-imaginings to mature in God… until disaster hits their area… and they can learn from the best school in the world: the ancient school of hard knocks. Nothing better to knock bad doctrine out of mind.
What to do when bad news strikes? Let God live large, live now, live….. IN YOU!

Funny thing is that this is the woman that the local wolves have labelled a false prophet but she is the one that is getting the words from the Lord right.
By quake I am talking about the quake in Japan that had the 30 foot wall of water sweep 6klm inland and which also hit our west coast of north America.
Could it be that the churches in question had not been reinforced to take the impact of such devastating earthquakes, the money had not been spent on them to protect them I surmise and they were the weak links in the chain?
God will use this to draw men to himself and some will repent and turn to him I’m sure, and others will shake their fists at God and blame him and Ask why he{ it would appear] did nothing to protect their loved ones who perished.
So now we can add Japan into the big equation. Whats funny, but very sad at the same time, is that so many people think this is NORMAL or they try to explain it away by saying ‘global warming’ is the cause of all this. (ROFL). The global warming thing it just too funny to even comprehend…but it does point out how many delusional people there are out there.
Knowing at how lost so many are, are people finally getting a glimpse of just how many will be eternally lost JUST in this generation alone?
I wonder if many of the Japanese are seeking the Lord through all of this, or are they flocking to their pagan shrines to a fake god whom doesn’t answer them; for answers?

Also Stephen, the history of our dear planet is that this is a brutal place. Why entire nations have been covered in the ocean (not just a tsunami). Then the oceans recede and mountains grow. Then the oceans cover everything back up. It is NORMAL, NORMAL, NORMAL… from a long-term view.
And hard times make almost every human seek his God. Give those Japanese a BREAK, for Christ’s sake.

The fact is they are getting to the stage that they know this is God talking but they will not acknowledge it because they like to practice the lie. Things are passing beyond just being blinded or handed over to a delusion. It is a deliberate act at denouncing God as in choosing to become an enemy of God.

@Robert- Are you saying that these events were wholly natural & this has nothing to do with the ‘whole’ of end times events?
As for ‘compassion’, what does that mean? Am I supposed to feel sorry for the Japanese people and if so, what would be the appropriate ‘christian’ response? Send food, send money, organize some kind of drive or start an ‘awareness campaign’?
Maybe a candlelight vigil outside the Japanese Embassy?
The Lord says in Mat 8:22, regarding this similar situation Robert, “Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead.” to a person that is described in verse 21 as being a Disciple of Jesus.
It is my hope and prayer that many will come to the Lord in Japan, just as it is my prayer that those in ChristChurch, NZ, who think they are believers, will also turn to Him.
It’s not going to get better and Judgements will increase as the world drives headlong as high speed, into the waiting arms of the anti-christ who have but a short time to establish his kingdom and take as many away from the Lord as he can in the short time he has been given.

Do you realize you didn’t address the issue I raised? That the US sorta kinda blew it after 1945, when the Japanese could have more easily received a big missions effort from the US… I guess it didn’t happen.
If you read the bulk of my posts, which would take a fair amount of time and a lot of pondering and thinking outside of the normal churchianity box…
You’d see that often I posit… that churchianity thinking is really cheap and really dumb and really not very educated… and plain short-sighted and 3rd grade in intelligence. There is NO perspective. And the thinking is very easy to predict.
See, you went past my comments that the USA had a great opportunity in Japan, and blew it. You didn’t care for that perspective. You stick to a predictable, cheap-thinking sort of perspective: Those HEATHENS brought judgment down!

You see, dear Stelphen_in_SC, it’s getting more and more complicated. Christianity, as broadcast by the USA to Japan, probably stinks just as bad as Christianity broadcast to the USA. Christian Broadcast stinks pretty universally.
Churchianity has really lost its marbles. It has chucked Western Enlightenment. It has embraced socialism, greed, fear-mongering-end-times-rapture-shennanigans, lazy-crazy-emergent-gobbledegook, prophetic jabberwocky, lack-of-correction, prophetic-judgment’s-a-comin’-SUPERIORITY, etc., etc.
The appropriate response? Love.
And love is happening. Love in the form of two US Aircraft Carriers (God Bless the USN!) to help with big exigencies, scientific help with nuclear power problems, disaster relief and all such to help the beleaguered back to normalcy.
Then, when the time is right, perhaps MacArthur’s advice is right: Send missionaries. Perhaps this time the USA won’t blow that mission.
Will you again give no acknowledgement to MacArthur’s call out for missionaries? Will you not see your posts are rather lacking in compassion? Will you not see there are higher, different, historical, intelligent, out-of-churchianity-box… ways of thinking?

Last night the Lord woke me up and asked me to call the body of Christ to prayer for Japan. Now I know that that is stating the obvious, but he specifically showed me that the nuclear reactors are a key strategy of the enemy to stop what God has planned for that nation. God’s plan for Japan is for a mighty army of God’s people to invade the land of the rising sun. I saw a map of Japan and thousands of ant-like creatures swarming over the land – this is his church. The enemy is using this crisis to not only cause huge damage to the people of Japan but to put fear into the hearts of those who are called to minister to Japan. Please pray and get everyone else you know to pray.

I read your post and I’m not trying to be cute but can you please elaborate how you see what is happening now to Michelle’s dream/vision. Is the first earthquake now fulfilled? Michelle’s sounded a whole lot more terrifying – no houses left, Oregon and Washington affected.
I am also acutely aware of your quote in Revelation but I think the purpose of the church is to continue to show grace = the good news = the great commission because our calling will never change even if the world situation does. What is our calling? We are called unto good works.
If we believe this is a judgment (as I mentioned the whole world stands in judgment) so be it. But the messsage doesn’t change. We do not have a ministry of condemnation. That was done away with by Jesus.

@Robert- MacArthers call is rather moot now don’t you think? It didn’t happen and at this stage of the game, it probably won’t unless as Apple has stated, there are those who are called to go to Japan to witness to the truth. Do I see US ‘christians’ doing this….only if they’re something for them to gain from it….I agree with you that North American ‘churchianity’ will have about as much chance of making an impact on non-believers in Japan, as mankind has to ‘change the climate’ to something man believes is a fix for this alleged problem.
But Robert…please do not include me in the christian religion….I am not a christian nor do I have anything to do with those folks unless I’m talking to someone and discover they are ‘christian’. I don’t attend their churches, nor their bogus revivals, nor participate in their ‘good works’; although when I do get the opportunity & as the Lord directs me, I do witness His truth to them. :)
As for judgement….well, we are going to be judged aren’t we? We are to judge in righteousness; to say we’re not to judge at all is foolish & literally impossible. We make judgement calls on a daily basis & using the gift of discernment is something we as believers must use constantly; especially in these times.
You and I in the past have debated about the rapture ‘theory’, so we won’t go there again if it’s alright with you. I certainly hope the ‘christians’ wouldn’t teach the Japanese about a rapture that isn’t going to happen; unless of course the reference is to the mid trib rapture of the Bride. :)

@Jeff- Sorry…I forgot to respond to your question about Michelles prophecy.
All I can say is it’s similar to others I have heard but it does fit into the ‘big picture’ of what’s going on just prior to the last 7 yrs.
The one I’m familiar with isn’t published anywhere but was verified jus the other day.
A close associate of mine was given a vision from the Lord over 5 yrs ago about Japan specifically. When I spoke with her (she’s in Canada) on Friday re: the Japanese Tsunami; she had told me the Lord had reminded her of it on Wednesday and was astonished at it’s depth & accuracy.
THe Lord had stated that when Japan ‘shrinks’, it would mark the rise of the anti-christ. This also accompanied of a vision she was given regarding anti-christ, going into the Vatican to be accepted as one of them. I don’t have the specifics of it in detail, but this is the gist of the message given to her.
So….things are going as planned by Him; it’s up to us to ensure we’re right there with Him and separated from anything that would cause us to be separated from Him. Religion is one of those things that keep us separate us from Him and believers should endeavor to get out of their comfort zones now while they can.

A summary of John 18:8 – 11. When the Holy Spirit comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin because men do not believe in Christ, and righteousness because Christ has gone to the Father, and judgment because the prince of this world stands condemned.
There are 3 things the Holy Spirit does but lets see who the object of his action is towards. As I see it, the judgment is aimed at the Devil. The devil is condemned/judged in many ways. One way is in that he has been overpowered by Christ’s death burial and resurrection. In addtion, he is condemned because mankind can actually be free from his grip.
The Spirit’s work among mankind is not one of condemnation but one of conviction. I’m just reading from the text above. His purpose is to convict the world of sin by pointing them to the righteousness Christ has obtained from them.
So, what is the good works? We are told to do His work. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. Our work is to bring in the kingdom of God into people’s lives. What does it mean? Read the epistles. If you want to discuss we can go deeper. Yes, it involves what the world is doing in bringing aid and relief but if it stopped there, we do not have the gospel but a humanitarian act. We do the practical help but go beyond that to reconcile them back to Christ.
God left the work of reconciliation to us and he left his work of judgment for himself to execute. We are not meant to swap roles.
I wanted to share what a simple sister shared with me this morning on the way to church. (I pick up this elderly lady on Sunday mornings and take her to the meeting.)
She said when she first started seeing the news from Japan about the quake and tsunami, she had a vision. She saw someone (that would be God) holding the earth and just shaking it. Then there was a second part. She saw someone sleeping, and a hand on his shoulder shaking him, as if trying to wake him up.
I think that might apply to the church and Christians in general. Are we all awake? Is the world awake? It’s time to be about the Father’s business. This life is very short!

Jeff- Mark’s post is definitely along the lines of what I know of His word. I am very well versed in His word; but I like to ask others of their opinions on things like I asked of you. Thank you btw for responding again.
Judgement is upon man, as much as it is upon Satan, but satan has a job to do and he is allowed to do it; just as he was allowed to sift poor Job.
Judgement has been seen on man throughout His word…right from the beginning with Adam & Eve being cast out of the garden, on Cain, on the world with the flood, on Pharoah in Egypt and on the Israelites time and time again.
These Japan event, like the NZ event, like the New Orleans event, like the 04 Tsunami event; were all judgements upon mankind. He is very much in control of His creation and would never have caused these massive storms and devasting earthquakes/tsunamis if He didn’t have reason to do so.
We as man cannot possibly fathom the mind of God; although He does give us a glimpse of the varied emotions He has, throughout His word. Christianity for the most part, loves to prefer to concentrate on ‘God is Love’. And that’s true; absolutely. But He is so much more than just that and many people just choose not to recognize those other features of His character.
Now in regards to Japan right now; I feel no leading by the Holy Spirit to do anything at all, except to pray for the people of Japan who are open to Him, to be able to seek Him and find Him too. Aid is aid; but I always marvel at how many christian charitable organizations like to try to differentiate themselves from secular humanitarian aid. Let’s look at Haiti for example. I know of people in the christian religion that did go to Haiti, and when asked about how they did down there and what were the peoples reactions, they didn’t appear to be any different than what the secular people had experienced.
Haiti as we know is a very dark place spiritually, with Catholicism darkening their lives as well as the pagan voodoo rituals. I was not surprised at all that the Lord shook them up to the extent they did.
If you personally feel led to do something for Japan, then by all means you must do so; but it isn’t for every believer and certainly not a ‘requirement’ as some would believe it to be. Japan is a very rich nation and a proud people, they have asked for our assistance to which we will provide happily, but anyone can do that can’t they? Will they turn to the Lord? I certainly hope so Jeff, but I also know billions are going to be lost from this generation alone with the coming tribulation coming. It’s a shame and it doesn’t have to be that way, but His word tells us this is to be.

Thanks for your response. I don’t think I’ll reply to the post. I think we are all of our own opinion and are caught in our own paradigm – including me – so I’m not pointing a finger at anyone but highlighting the facts.
There are forums where people actually contribute so they can learn from each other. These forums are a great place to learn because everyone comes with an open mind – that they don’t know enough. Trading forums are such.
I remember reading somewhere once that people are the most obstinate in the things they know least and they would kill and go to war on that basis. He was referring to religious matters. I was stunned by the statement but after sometime realised that what he said was actually true – even though he isn’t a Christian.

It’s really sad to watch you guys argue about this. This is a time to contend for truth, yes! Passionately so. But it seems to me you guys are getting a bit carried away by your opinions of what is going on in the world and not quite trusting the Holy Spirit WILL bring conviction to all that are His.
Maybe I read your postings superficially and I haven’t read the background of your past disagreements. But I believe there is wisdom in what each of you is saying.
Should we argue about minor details?
Listen, my theological views of lots of things are still not quite settled. I’m quite sure certain there will be a rapture, but if it’s pretrib, midtrib or posttrib… Couldn’t tell for sure.
Don’t know if I’m a five-point Calvinist or still somewhat Arminian, but I understand I was saved with no merit on my own part and that God saved me by grace thru faith and the author of my faith is Jesus.
I only know we absolutely MUST seek the Lord and do it NOW. That’s all that matters.
If we are living in pretrib times or this is the beginning of the tribulation period, I couldn’t tell. I only know God’s call for us has an URGENCY.
So let’s speak the truth in love. Let’s wake each other up kindly. Every word given with the salt of grace. Please, let’s not forget all the knowledge of Scripture means nothing if 1 Corinthians 13 love is not in us.
Please do not take offense. I’m not saying you don’t love Jesus or each other. But let’s be a bit more careful because we don’t know who is reading our posts and chances are that reading how we disagree, they will flee from Christ instead of to Him.

Case 1:
Oh Master! 5,000 people are hungry! (But we don’t know their eternal status. Maybe they want a healing. Maybe they’ll later shout, “Crucify!” Maybe they just want entertainment. All we know is they are hungry. The unwashed crowd is suffering!)
Jesus’ answer: We shall feed them.
Case 2:
Oh Master! These disciple-wanna-be’s say they’ll follow you anywhere. But this one, he wants to take a week (or maybe a year) to bury his dead father (first in a tomb – a 7-day process; then gather the dry bones in a box, taking a whole year’s time of waiting/processing).
Jesus’ answer to the disciple-wanna-be: Let the dead bury their own dead.
Point is…
Circular and self-serving reasoning, as so common with dumbed-down church, gets adolescents in trouble. Arm yourself with intelligence against it. Context!
Finally, honor unto whom honor is due. It hurts to learn proper spelling, it hurts the puerile-of-thought real bad. The general’s last name is spelled MacArthur.
The hardest is to say blessed is he who comes in the name and nature of the lord. If you don’t do that, your house will remain unto you desolate. (i.e. juvenile)
It doesn’t pay to boldly dishonor history, history’s greats or truth in general.
The path to en-Christedness almost always entails honoring another person of some high level of truth, character, record and such. Small-minded people can’t do that. They cast off all honor to man-in-God, and prefer exalting only God. They claim to love God, but they haven’t yet met a man living or dead they can honor. This is illogical because such folk want, eventually, to be honored by others.
God shows the natural way. First, honor the indwelt human. That will go a long way towards getting indwelt ones own self. (Then, unwanted honor… follows!)
Our nemesis shows the unnatural way. First, dishonor all men and supposedly thereby honor only mystic God. Then it becomes almost impossible to honor anyone who thinks that way, because they’d be the only one on earth to honor.
And God wants us to honor all that is good, and shun all that is bad.
It is easy to WANT honor, yet withold it from everything and everybody good.
Yet, by honoring all good. It becomes harder to want honor. But in the process of honoring all good, one eventually becomes good… and the subject of unwanted yet necessary honor!
A call to all praying people, especially intercessors, to pray concerning the nuclear problems in Japan. Reactor 1 and Reactor 3 have had explosions. Now Reactor 2 is likely to explode. These are reported to be minor releasing only small amounts of radioactivity but authorities have evacuated far more people (200,000) far further away than expected. The US Navy has detected radioactive fallout 100 miles out at sea. It seems possible that, as in the past, Japan is not telling the world the full truth. The Japanese Prime Minister has now asked for help from nuclear experts in the USA–a “loss of face” indicating how serious things are. CNN reports:
“Tokyo (CNN) — A blast at a nuclear reactor and a series of problems at a neighboring one led to a brief spike in radiation levels outside Japan’s troubled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant Monday, triggering even greater fears that dangerous radiation could add to the country’s devastation.
“Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said he was not ruling out the possibility of a meltdown at all three troubled reactors at the plant.
“…the pump being used to send seawater gushing into reactor No. 2 Monday ran low on fuel when personnel left it unattended, officials said. Soon, the water had burned off and the fuel rods were exposed — allowing them to emit levels of heat and steam that can melt the reactor’s core.
“Edano announced that officials had gotten the problem under control and resolved it. Then, hours later, a new problem sent the water levels plummeting again and left the fuel rods fully exposed.
“A valve that was supposed to be open, to allow the heat and steam to escape, was closed. That caused pressure to build up and water to evaporate, Tokyo Electric Power Company announced. The company, which owns the nuclear plant, said it should be able to locate and open the valve.
“While steam was being released from reactor No. 2, officials took readings of the radiation level just outside the power plant’s front gate and found it to be twice the maximum level previously detected, though only briefly…
“About 200,000 people had evacuated the area following a government order over the weekend. And after Monday’s blast, authorities ordered at least 500 residents remaining within 20 kilometers (12 miles) of the plant to stay inside, Edano said…
“There are six reactors at the plant, located in northeastern Japan about 40 miles (about 65 kilometers) south of Sendai, one of the areas worst hit by Friday’s earthquake and the resulting tsunami. Three of the reactors were already shut down for regular inspections at the time of the quake.
“The operating reactors shut down when the quake happened, as they were designed to do. But the tsunami washed out the backup power generators being used in the cooling operation. Portable generators were brought in.
“Edano has said there have been no leaks of radioactive material at any plants. Monday’s blast did not damage the reactor or result in significant radiation leakage. ‘There is no massive radioactive leakage,’ he said…
“Low levels of radiation were detected at least as far as 100 miles (about 160 kilometers) northeast of the plant, according to the U.S. Navy, which repositioned ships and planes after detecting low-level ‘airborne radioactivity.’”
If these three nuclear reactors majorly explode, they will make the results of Russia’s Chernobyl meltdown look small. And Wikipedia states this of Chernobyl:
‘Twenty four years after the catastrophe, restriction orders remain in place in the production, transportation and consumption of food contaminated by Chernobyl fallout. In the UK, they remain in place on 369 farms covering 750 km² and 200,000 sheep. In parts of Sweden and Finland, restrictions are in place on stock animals, including reindeer, in natural and near-natural environments. “In certain regions of Germany, Austria, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Lithuania and Poland, wild game (including boar and deer), wild mushrooms, berries and carnivorous fish from lakes reach levels of several thousand Bq per kg of caesium-137″, while “in Germany, caesium-137 levels in wild boar muscle reached 40,000 Bq/kg. The average level is 6,800 Bq/kg, more than ten times the EU limit of 600 Bq/kg”, according to the TORCH 2006 report. The European Commission has stated that “The restrictions on certain foodstuffs from certain Member States must therefore continue to be maintained for many years to come”….
‘”Some of this radioactivity, predominantly radiocaesium-137, was deposited on certain upland areas of the UK, where sheep-farming is the primary land-use. Due to the particular chemical and physical properties of the peaty soil types present in these upland areas, the radiocaesium is still able to pass easily from soil to grass and hence accumulate in sheep. A maximum limit of 1,000 becquerels per kilogramme (Bq/kg) of radiocaesium is applied to sheep meat affected by the accident to protect consumers. This limit was introduced in the UK in 1986, based on advice from the European Commission’s Article 31 group of experts. Under power provided under the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985 (FEPA), Emergency Orders have been used since 1986 to impose restrictions on the movement and sale of sheep exceeding the limit in certain parts of Cumbria, North Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland… When the Emergency Orders were introduced in 1986, the Restricted Areas were large, covering almost 9,000 farms, and over 4 million sheep. Since 1986, the areas covered by restrictions have dramatically decreased and now cover 369 farms, or part farms, and around 200,000 sheep. This represents a reduction of over 95% since 1986, with only limited areas of Cumbria, South Western Scotland and North Wales, covered by restrictions.
’369 farms and 190,000 sheep are still affected…’
The number of deaths across Europe caused by Chernobyl is still a hot topic of debate. Low estimates admit thousands. High estimates claim millions. And who can estimate the levels of misery caused by debilitating illnesses and deformed babies?

I had such a witness when Mr Strom spoke of Christ Church and the coming Judgment to the house of God, I was baffled and needed the confirmation, some times one feels they are crazy when in Prophetic and Preaching the truth, much persecution, breaking, tribulation is all I have seen for 2 years and it gets more intense every day. God works on our heart to pre pare us who have ears to hear that , there is no such thing as Painless Christianity and we are heading to a very, very hard time in 2011 Just be spiritually prepared, forget trying to validate your self or ministry, just live and die to self and Christ will keep you, do not fear what is coming, but fear God and He will be your secret Hiding place in what is coming, I speak esp to American Christan’s in the USA, the real believers need not fear, but stay in the fear of God and hold to the cross, many of us will soon see death, a early promotion to Glory, we are not free from what is coming because we are the Americans, this is foolish and pride speaking.The mega Church’s will be closed bu\y 2011, false prophets will start to fall one by one, and a holy remnant is being ready to minister to all in the coming Crises, it is God, and it is over due.

Well Dan, is it pre-pre-trib, pre-trib, mid-trib, post-trib or whatever?
I posit to all who think about this, that rapture is just plain cheap-thinking. And rapture’s primary purpose is to avoid Christ-in-You-ness, NOW! And to always promote fear. Rapture promotes fear. In any church it is discussed, witness the spirit of fear that always comes. Fear always comes to a rapture discussion. Check the spirits. Check how fear always comes to rapture preachers.
Now, what is the alternative? Well, guess when the following was written:
“To every people, in every age, there comes a measure of God to man – THROUGH MAN!
“Even today, WISDOM may dwell among us, in humble guise, unknown, despised, until, its mission fulfilled, it slips back into the mystery from whence it came.”
This is the beginning screen shot of the 1922 movie, “Shadows”, featuring Lon Chaney. It is a silent movie, but it is about en-Christedness in a persecuted Chinese man. Of course, he is persecuted by so-called Christians.
Dan, there is no end to ink-blot imaginings regarding rapture and tribulation. It just Rorschach’s test of what past bad so-called Christian leadership has seen in a crazy ink blot. This same bad leadership never had any clue about en-Christedness-in-people-now (or back when rapture lies were developed.)
Why is this? God let the bible have bad trails for those who want then. Want what? Something other than Christ-in-You-ness, NOW. That’s what.
In every age, there are always highly en-Christed individuals. Likewise, there are always those with ink blot imaginings, imaginings usually based on fear. Like rapture. In every age, the so-called God leaders ignore or persecute the real God-bearers. Yup, rapture freaks ignore, if not persecute, the true God-bearers.
But surely, you will say, there is an obvious increase in epic disasters?
REALLY? Perhaps so, perhaps not. Look at earth’s very violent history of change. Huge parts of the world have been flooded in the past. HUGE parts!
Nevertheless, I would agree… epic disasters are on the rise…
Why? Well, hardship leads to en-Christedness.
Hardship’s woes also lead to escapism, i.e. rapture fear-mongering.
So amidst the world’s increasing chaos and disasters we have two hard choices. One: We can bury our heads in rapture, dispensational-craziness, and promote ever-increasing fear-mongering. We can hope to increase fear in others! (UGH)
Two: We can reject all that easily-predicted-tripe, and embrace en-Christedness, Christ-in-You-NOW!, believe “Behold, I come quickly”… means we must have eyes to see (BLESSED are the pure in heart for they will see God-in-You-en-Christedness-in-Others-and-Honor-THEM!) that Christ is always and ever NOW.
In the past, rapture promoters could always sell more and more books! Each disaster helped them!
In the future we can hope more and more people will ignore rapture tripe and get going with the tough mental, spiritual and character development work required to ESCAPE ESCAPISM, and create a suitable mind-habitation that the LORD indwells
And when our abodes are pleasing to Christ, He comes quickly with three surprising things: Power, Love and a SOUND (not rapture-crazy) MIND!

Please continue to pray re the Japanese nuclear situation. It is serious.
Further to my last post: A great deal of misinformation is being presented as News. After the earthquake/tsunami, radiation measurements were higher than normal. The “containment vessels” clearly have NOT contained the radiation which officials now admit is leaking into the atmosphere. Japanese authorities are giving varied explanations for this–”a crack” through which radiation is venting, a storage pond which is short of water. ‘But at a news briefing in London, academics were perplexed by the idea. “The fuel pins in the pond should be totally contained, there should be no damage,” said Laurence Williams, professor of nuclear safety at the University of Central Lancashire. This BBC report continued: “If you did have a fire, you’d have the same issues (as in a reactor melt) – you’d have fission gases in the spaces inside the fuel pin, depending on how long the fuel was in there the iodine might or might not be a hazard… overall, I’m quite mystified.”
‘Kyodo News, the main Japanese news agency, reported that technicians were unable to pump water back into the pool and that helicopters may be used to dump water into the building from the air.’ Why isn’t the place swarming with helicopters drowning the pool with water? Apparently the Japanese Govt can’t even afford one on the site? It makes no sense at all.
‘Whatever the precise source of the radioactivity, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported: “Dose rates of up to 400 millisievert per hour (mSv/hr) have been reported at the site.” Acccording to the World Health Organisation (WHO), the average person’s exposure is 3 mSv in a year.
‘Among all the news coming out of Fukushima from the Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco), the nuclear safety agency, and local and national authorities, there has hardly been a mention of new equipment arriving at the site. That implies that technicians are still working with water pumps designed for putting out fires and an improvised technique based on the turbine hall’s fire extinguishing system.’

I won’t put any faith in anything the UN sponsored IAEA or WHO says…they have an agenda all on their own.
It sure is a mess over there though.

What shall revival be? A rehash of same-old-same-old of yesteryear?
Or perhaps this excruciatingly difficult age requires a break-through unto the ANCIENT PATHS of God. As Jeremiah 6:16 says, “Where the good way is.”
We must somehow see the really big pictures, hold buckets of large concepts in our heads without spilling, enlarge our minds unto the mind-of-Christ, to think deeply and see clearly. To be unafraid to look in the dictionary, or search Google, or hold more than one difficult thought in our head at the same time. To be, in essence, as our Lord Jesus Christ is called: WISDOM.

‘France’s nuclear watchdog is now warning the situation at Fukushima’s No. 1 nuclear plant now rates at six on a seven-point scale of gravity, according to AFP.’
The latest from Japan’s main news outlet:
‘The situation… ”has worsened considerably,” the [Washington based] Institute for Science and International Security said…The ongoing crisis is ”now closer to a level 6, and it may unfortunately reach a level 7” — a worst case scenario with extensive health and environmental consequences.’
‘Kyodo reported that radiation levels nine times higher than normal were briefly detected in Kanagawa prefecture near Tokyo and that the Tokyo metropolitan government said it had detected a small amount of radioactive materials in the air.’
Tokyo has a population of 39 million and is only 170 miles away from the site. At the moment the wind is blowing the radiation out to sea. But if it changes direction…

Has anyone actually read the Book of Revelation and considered what it has to say. No, I’m not talking abour reading other people’s commentary. What I mean is actually do the study themselves and come to their own open conclusion. Open because we need to be humble enough to be corrected.
Has anyone come across Rev 11:18 – God will destroy those who destroy the earth. Who are these beings who destroy the earth? Is all destruction from God?
Has anyone considered that the wrath of God doesn’t even kick in until Rev 16 in The 7 bowls?
Has anyone considered Rev 12:12 – Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time. Why woe to the whole earth? What is the devil doing? It can’t just be to deceived because that’s what has been happening since the fall in Eden.
I don’t have the answer yet.

In what looks like an act of total panicked desperation, the company owning the nuclear power plant plans to spray the reactors with boracic acid.
After days of explosions and yet another fire today, ‘TEPCO said the problem could develop into a critical ”meltdown” situation, in which fuel rods melt and are destroyed, emitting massive amounts of radioactive materials into the air.’ (Kyodo News).
The company appears unable to carry out the Prime Minister’s directive to use helicopters to dump water into a boiling pool full of overheated uranium rods. It seems an explosion blew holes in the pool’s walls and water drained away. If the water can’t be replaced, a massive meltdown will follow, which may well set off all six reactors into meltdown.
All six reactors are now reported to be overheating. Maybe only a miracle can save Japan.

I carry within myself a vision of a few years ago, A long deep valley lay before me, which a fire storm had gone. The entire landscape was burnt out, a long line of men were rising and the ash was falling of them. In the fore ground was a war horse complete with finery and seated on it was the King. He did not look back knowing that the rising men were falling Him.
The incredible thing here is the Lord knew we would follow Him, He did not need to look back. The question to us all is will we follow Him or cleave to Him despite the fires? Is God assured we will follow Him?
@Michael- well, we’d better not look back right? lol. Look what happened to Lot’s wife when she looked back. Good case in point.
@Jeff- I’ve done a very in depth study of Revelation and prophecy throughout the word that relates to the end times.
Maybe I’m not clear on your ‘destruction’ question. Could you clarify what you mean by that? Does this relate to Japan and the Nuke problem and how ‘man’ is destroying the earth or that the Lord had something to do with the destruction?

As I read Revelation, it is not clear to me that all destruction is from God
i) He will be destroying those who destroy the earth. What is their identity?
ii) We also know that the devil is coming (has come?) down to earth in great wrath. Why should it be woeful for all the inhabitants of earth and sea? Inhabitants of earth and seas suggests woe to all creation not only humans. Whose wrath are we actually talking about? It’s the devil’s. So, we just need to be mindful that there are other wrathful entities around.
iii) The wrath of God was described in the 7 bowls. As you can see, it is very specific and towards the end of the book. But a whole lot happened prior to that without the tag of it being God’s wrath.
So, I am just questioning whether we need to evaluate our dreams and visions and thoughts in humility just in case we attribute catastrophe to the wrong person.
Question: If the disasters we’re facing – NZ, Japan, Aust, etc – is from the enemy, are we being deceived into believing it is from God? Potentially, why would the enemy make us believe it is God? Possible answers include:
i) as the accuser, he needs people (especially Christians) to agree with him.
ii) our condemnation of the world puts sinners off repentance and draw them away from God
I am just an enquirer but I hope I’m asking the right questions. i don’t have the answers. Hence, my insistence on not judging but do what we know to do as explained in other postings.
@Jeff- I think they’re good questions. It’s really late in Georgia right now, so I’ll have to get back to you with my perception of the prophecies written within.
On a personal note, I don’t believe any disaster up to this point was of Satan, although satan is about war and it is not of God. But because we have rejected the Lord, we are in Satans kingdom and wars are a natural part of it…as horrible as that is.
The Earth (Eden) is till Gods creation and He is in firm control of it. It was prophesied that in the time of the end that there would be all manner of natural disasters before His return.
When you study the whole cycle of how the earth regenerates itself, you’ll see how the tectonic plates of the earth travel one under the other, goes into the center of the earth and becomes molton rock..while it creates new land with underground volcano’s constantly. Hawaii for example is growing because of this process while the eastern nations (asia) are being reduced in size and go thru the process.
Jeff….have you asked the Lord about this? If so, what has He said to you about it?
