The one thing I think God gave me as a starting-point was praying James 1:5. So much of what He has for us to do individually is tailored to the exact place, people, situation, and gifts He's given us: wisdom seems to be His provision for our guidance in every specific. I think that's because wisdom is more than "knowing," as it would be in human formulation. In essence, it's God's Own Mind: operating by that wisdom, we DO "the will of Him Who sent us" (as Jesus references repeatedly in John 4, 5,6,and 8). That wisdom always too has a moral dimension, enabling us to choose between good and evil (in our actions and all else). Our lives involve continuous choices: God's wisdom is the one absolute for helping us ALWAYS choose to "do the right thing:" the exact thing that pleases our Father. In those regards, I think having God's wisdom...which James says WILL be given to any who ask in faith...is essentially the Spirit operative in us, mind, word and deed. Wisdom is so key to everything in our walk, and the promise so absolute, that I consider praying that one scripture what He intends for every believer. We only have to be humble enough to admit we lack wisdom, and then ask for it. Have you ever heard of the Hegelian Dialectic? Basically it's what a lot of our politicians have been practicing for decades. Adolph Hitler and his Nazi government practiced it. They secretly create a crisis and when the people kick up a fuss about how it's affecting them the politicians announce that they have a solution and ask the people to vote for them or give them more power. Republicans and Democrats act as a tag team each creating crises and offering the solution to the problems the others create. Have you ever noticed that things never seem to get better but an illusion is created to make us think that we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel? Like for example the drop in unemployment is actually people no longer drawing unemployment because their unemployment payments have expired. When you think about it Obama's Hope and Change have become Hopeless Change. Supposedly McCain would have done almost exactly the same things as Obama. Watch out for the next dreams to be sold by the next gaggle of candidates. Sorry if I deviated from your question. What I should add is that the great plan is order out of chaos after making the chaos in the first place. Just look at George W Bush correcting his freudian slip. I'm just thinking about the fact that non Christians from all walks of life be they liberal or conservative will ultimately be sucked "together" into the one world government and religion. Any one learning about John Todd for the first time will be shocked by a lot of what he says. Just a warning to who ever wants to learn about John Todd. He was extremely controversial and rocked the boat for the short time he was a saved from the occult before his disappearance and possible death. He was popular for a very short time in the 1970's and then got discredited. One of the statements he made was that Ayn Rand was a witch and that this particular book was a blue print on how the end times are to be ushered in by the fall of big governments and a one world government take over by the illuminati. Do you know anything about that? If you do what are your thoughts on it. You might be able to look up John Todd on You Tube for some of his past statements. Somebody sent me a review of the movie by Michael Gerson, of the Washington Post. Gerson finds it (as I would expect it to be) pretty awful. He attributes that to the fact her "novel" was entirely meant as a vehicle for her "philosophy." Some of his comments about why that "philosophy" makes an awful movie (it is, after all, a secular movie review) are worth noting here. "None of the characters expresses a hint of sympathetic human emotion -- which is precisely the point. Rand's novels are vehicles for a system of thought known as Objectivism. Rand developed this philosophy at the length of Tolstoy, with the intellectual pretensions of Hegel, but it can be summarized on a napkin. Reason is everything. Religion is a fraud. Selfishness is a virtue. Altruism is a crime against human excellence. Self-sacrifice is weakness. Weakness is contemptible. 'The Objectivist ethics, in essence,' said Rand, 'hold that man exists for his own sake, that the pursuit of his own happiness is his highest moral purpose, that he must not sacrifice himself to others, nor sacrifice others to himself.'... Rand cherished a particular disdain for Christianity. The cross, she said, is 'the symbol of the sacrifice of the ideal to the nonideal. ...
