THANK YOU FOR THIS WONDERFUL EXORTATION THIS MORNING I NEEDED TO HEAR THIS TODAY.
It seems sometimes the enemy wants to steal our intercession by getting us to busy.
This should not be. He should be our first thought in the morning and in the evening. It is up to us to make sure we interact with God on a daily basis leaning on him and his promises and I do not believe this is work based nor programing.
David prayed three times a day the word says, so he set out to make sure he has time for and intimatecy with his God as did Anna and Simion, As did Jesus.
We need to guard and protect this gift of intercession, and our time with our God.
We begin to pray and our intercession sets in always lead of the Holy Spirit and in tune with the very will of God.
I might mention also Anna was there to see Jesus at this same time, who also was an intercessor who was at the temple daily interceeding.
I have found intercession many times to be intense like holding on to the hymn of his garmrnt kinda prayer and faith, not letting go.
I believe Simeon and Anna and also David and Daniel, even Josiah had this kind of intercession, and God rewarded their many prayers with Simeon and Anna , with the seeing of the savior himself certainly the answer to prayer by God himself.
I believe also David understood who Jesus was, he wrote of him in the Psalms, even Isiah, and Daniel saw Jesus with his own eyes also. These men of God has such a close relationship with their God.
They held on to the - PROMISE - GOD'S SPOKEN WORD - THEY UNDERSTOOD THE TIMES IN WHICH THEY LIVED - AND THEY KNEW GOD WOULD KEEP HIS PROMISE -
OH THE PRECIOUS WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT TO CONFIRM THE PROMISES AND THE WORD OF GOD - TO A RIGHTEOUS MAN - AND ALLOWED HIM TO SEE WITH HIS OWN EYES THE SALVATION OF MAN - JESUS CHRIST THE SAVIOR OF THE WORLD -
IT WAS THIS PASSION AND SOVERIGN PROMISE OF GOD WITHIN HIM - THAT WOULD BRING HIM TO HIS KNEES IN FAITH KNOWING HIS PRAYERS WOULD BE ANSWERED BEFORE HE DIED.
Quote:
During the days of Jesus' birth, there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the LORD's Christ. Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: "Sovereign LORD, as you have promised, you now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all people, a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel."
Notice the part where it says, "Sovereign LORD, as you have promised, you now dismiss your servant in peace." Simeon indicates that he was just a servant waiting for a promise to be fulfilled in his life and then he could die peacefully. In other words, he wouldn't die till the promise was fulfilled. So he had to pray that it would happen. God made him pray.
Lynn:
May I encourage all to not give up on the promises of God, and to keep praying. I believe he wants us to be in agreement with his promises, and to come to where we totally depend on him to at his timing to perfect them.
THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS, God Bless, Lynn
