I didn't learn about sRA (satanic Ritual Abuse) or RA (Ritual Abuse) until I was in my 20s. I was incredulous about the claims of people who survived supposed satanic rituals and torture; however, the Lord directed me to keep seeking, and as I did, I learned about a little-known but international issue with various different names: satanic ritual abuse, ritual abuse, satanic abuse, occult abuse, sadistic ritual abuse, trauma-based mind control, etc. After years of researching this RA and the often resultant DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder, one called MPD or Multiple Personality Disorder), I agree with other Christian ministers that the Church should be forefront in the fight against RA and its perpetrators and in the advocacy of the survivors of RA.
At this link is a good book about the reality of RA/DID in the civilized world: http://www.amazon.com/Ritual-Abuse-Mind-Control-Manipulation/dp/1855758393#reader_1855758393 (or type in 'ritual abuse' at http://www.amazon.com).
Gregory Reid, a Christian minister and survivor of RA, wrote several articles about the Church's role in the world of Ritual Abuse and Dissociative Identity Disorder. Here's one that deserves a read: http://multipletreasures.org/?p=286.
When I was a young Christian working at Wendy's, I used to tell fellow Christians who wanted to learn patience to serve at Wendy's drive-thru window! In spiritual things, Christians are generally way behind due to our many comforts. We struggle with minor colds, thinking we are spiritual young men (spiritual warriors); yet, we never faced the flu and are far from being God's friends; fathers in the faith-- those entrusted with apostolic authority. Just like Wendy's drive-thru window was a challenge to anyone's patience, the realm of RA/DID is a challenge to Christianity. But if God be for us. This stance of 'Calebite faith' should be our message, lived in and through us everyday. The broken and dying are waiting for God's deliverance <expressed through human vessels>. (Isa. 58:6.)
