I did go back and listen to the end of the video. But have not listened to anymore of them yet, as there are several on this subject more on the subject of the cross. And I find it better sometimes not to listen to all of them, at once.
But still don't see that he has gone into balancing the message between what is law and grace.
But I have often been accused of doing the same thing I accused him of doing. Because we can do nothing by ourselves, that brings forth any righteousness, that is true. But there are things we can do in order that He will begin to do so as we do obey.
And IMO it is important that we do clarify how our obedience to HIS Words will bring about HIS doing what He has promised to do in faith. But sometimes difficult to explain, without getting over to one side or the other. Which is probably why so many are unbalanced today in the first place.
There is definitely a very good reason why Jesus said He does nothing that Father does not tell Him to do. And the reason is, that by obeying God, brings about the changes in our own life so that we can end up walking as He walked. Man fell because of disobeying HIM didn't they? Meaning we do the same thing He did as much as is possibly within us to do. Otherwise we will be in heap big trouble. But on the other hand, we first have to know what it is we are to do as well, in order not to get over on the other side, walking under the law. And there is a very good reason why it says that being unbalanced is an abomination to God, whether it is in the OT, which it is, or in the NT. And it is because being unbalanced either way, will eventually cause us to fall. And if we do not get a balance eventually, repenting and seeking God as to why we are in the ditch we end up in, hollering Help, well, that speaks for itself. But at the same time, he is definitely correct about anyone bringing forth their own righteousness by their own works, will not work at all, ending up in their doing what Paul describes in Romans chapter 7. The answer to what he is describing, being, of course, in the last two verses of that chapter, going on into Romans chapter 8. It is so easy to forget that these letters did not have verses and chapters to them, but were written as you and I would write a letter. Our often needing to read further to get the answers. Someone told me once to sit down and read the book of Romans all at once as I would read a letter. So I did. And they were right about that book, but about some others too.
But I do intend on listening to all of them of course. As apparently this is a teaching he gave in separate parts. And not fair to him, not to do so.
Love,in Him,
Sandy
