Roger. If that is the film I'm thinking of, there are similar movies available based on John and Acts.
They are all far better than the more "creative" adaptations found in things like "The Greatest Story Ever Told" and "King of Kings", both of which add some very questionable padding to the biblical accounts.
I wasn't aware of the book. I'll look out for it.

That type of idea was what came to mind when I read your post and the one from Onesimus.I have only seen bits of the Matthew movie, but I liked the way Jesus was portrayed.

Thanks for your responses, you have got me thinking about evangelism and being a witness more effectively, as you both said, not with doctrine but with His word and message for the hungry.
Tim, Gary - I too have tended to keep away from the 'traditional' movies portraying Jesus - this one I would recommend :-)
I can only share how the Lord has involved me in His work - and that is to constantly be aware that He will tell me how He desires me to approach, this or that person, for the first time.
I am now more aware of Him than I used to be, and also know that I have 'blown it' many times, and I am not counselling for any to do it 'my' way :-)
It seems that I am to 'help' rather than 'speak' - but when questioned, I will answer with the name of the source of my faith - and point to Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

Your post made me think of the inverse of the calf poem. We ARE witnesses through what we are, our lives and character, and then this walk demonstrates [in word and deed ] the reality or not of Christ in our lives. As we point people to Christ, encourage them in the truth of his word... their path becomes clearer and they no longer wander from hill to valley looking for the way home.
The poem on the link you sent about world events [the coming war ] was very insightful, it contrasts doing what needs to be done and speculation on the events about to happen.
