Andrew I've been involved with your forums since the beginning of RevivalSchool. When I first joined I felt well out of my depth. It was my first regular contact with Christians in almost 15 years and I learned that significant changes had taken place in the church during those years Iād been away. It took a long time for me to come to grips with it all.
RevivalSchool helped me avoid a lot of mistakes I could have very easily made as I returned to the foundations of the faith. There were a lot of challenges in the day to day contact on the forum. My beliefs were constantly challenged because I came across so many things that were at odds with the things I thought I knew. Those challenges made me check things out for myself to make sure where I really stood regarding the truth. I had to change a lot as I realised far too many of my beliefs had no scriptural foundation.
While these forums can be difficult and challenging places at times ā it is our response to those difficulties and challenges that can help us grow ā IF we continually make sure our own foundation is sound, and as long as we are willing to make changes if we find it is not.
A garden full of beautiful flowers and fruit and nice lawns might be restful and a good place to visit occasionally, but lazing around on the grass all the time does nothing for our fitness or long term well-being.
A forum centred on relationship with the Lord will never be free from strife. We are looking at matters of eternal significance and we have an enemy who wants to disrupt, distract and lead us from the truth. Serious and unpleasant situations will continually arise BECAUSE of the spiritual realities we are addressing.
It will be sad to see another valuable forum close down.
I've made some good friends here and have made contact with some via email, but others my only link is through this forum. If the forum closes I'll miss the contact with them.
