I actually posted this to my Facebook. I thought it was very well done, raised some good questions and points, and has gotten a lot of people talking. I have shown it to others as well

  2. Chris Bennett Jan 18th 2012

It has its flaws and its not completely biblically accurate but its a good starting point

  3. B Richardson Jan 18th 2012

It is a High Karate slap in the face that the church and even those of us that “lurk” on pages like this. I hope to see more of him giving us a shaking!

  4. I also had posted it to Facebook a few days ago. Not sure anyone looked at it though (didn’t get any comments or likes or shares). I thought that it would catch the attention of some folks and get them to reconsider their beliefs and / or rejection of the beliefs with which they were raised.

  6. It has a certain element of truth: the misapprehension of what church is supposed to be. The ” ekklesia” is a called out from the world group of people who are totally committed to Jesus Christ.

Some of today’s clergy and laity do not fit into this “ekklesia” but only into a church structure. 2 Tim 3:5 instructs us to avoid those who are not genuine believers (ekklesia).

I also shared this on facebook. I am part of the 4/14 Widow Global Movement that reaches out to children between the ages of 4-17. When you work with the kids, you will get to understand that this is how they feel. They don’t want religion, buildings and do and don’ts. They want to see us be church and not have church. They want to experience the love of the Father through us and not hear how different/wrong they are. The youth is leaving Christianity and the church because of our hoding on to tradition and certain ways of doing. I really liked this video clip and can certainly relate to this and is asking the Lord to help me be what I teach!

thank’s that’s exactly what I am thinking for the last few months!
by grace we’re saved – by grace we live!

  9. A friend emailed me this video and it is very good. We are each and all – in a battle for our hearts and minds and souls….and should never place ourselves above anyone for seeing the truth of religion vs true Christianity… Being raised Lutheran, once I had my born again experience, the very next Sunday, we had an infant baptism and I wondered why we were singing ‘ he who believes and is baptised….’ My eyes were opened through the grace of God and my born again experience at age 19… I am now 58 and still travelling with the Lord. My next experience after beginning my search for a Biblical church, led me to a Baptist church, where – once I expressed a desire to become a member ( because as a teen, I was enthralled with how they studied the Bible and everyone brought their Bibles to church and followed along as the Pastor spoke ) and my desire to become a member led me to the required interveiw to see if I had a tesimony of being saved ( which I did ) but then the 4 deacons/elders began a line of questioning me about speaking in tongues and I became confused. I had friends that did…. and after leaving that meeting where the tongues issue made me feel like a suspect in some crime – I called the church and cancelled my becoming a member that Sunday…. and I started reading my Bible further – starting with Acts – where the power of the Holy Spirit came to those who already believed – but God knew they needed more…. kind of like getting a toy for Christmas – that needed batteries to function properly…. I looked around and didn’t see anything like spoken of in Acts and further on in the Bible and so I knew that the baptism of the Holy Spirit was necessary…. not just to speak in tongues ( that’s only a sign…) but to have Kingdom power ( and not the flashy, fleshly demonic counterfeit we often see today ) but real gentle, soft-spoken power from above – to perform just as those in Scriptures did….and so after asking God for that power – He gave it to me…. and I will always confess – everything in my life has all been a result of God’s working in my life… I can take no credit nor glory for any of it… I am saying all of this because the Scriptures say that ‘ knowledge puffs up’… and if we – who have received the fullness – are not careful – we can become arrogant and prideful and think ourselves better than other Christians because of what God has done in our lives… He is the author of it all…. even our hunger and thirst to know the truth – God is the author of even that. This is a very good video, and we need to pray that all those who are trapped in the cage of religion, will have the eyes of their understanding opened and that they may be set free… When we walk in pride – people only see us….. when we walk in humility – people see Jesus…. and I have been guilty…. for the Saints and for the Lamb, Lindie in Montana [email protected]

  10. I know this is a little late – but here was my Christmas message I sent out this past year…. May it be a blessing to you and speak to your hearts…. Love is the most powerful tool Christians have…. because it changes things for the better…. for the Saints and for the Lamb, Lindie in Montana [email protected]

In December of 1941, America’s course and culture were changed by a day that will live in infamy. Pearl Harbor re-shaped US history, and a darker facet of globalism was revealed in the smoking hulks of once proud battleships. A terrifying day at Hiroshima in 1945 awakened fears that would haunt the pioneering generation of the nuclear age. Men harnessed the power of unthinkable destruction, and demonstrated the will to use it.

A day in Dallas Texas in 1963 defined a generation – as the news of Kennedy’s assassination rocked the globe.

And a U S Supreme Court decision in 1973 opened the floodgates for an unending slaughter of innocent life, making a mother’s womb the most dangerous place in America.

And then a day we all simply refer to as 9/11 changed the way we travel, the way we live, and the way we perceive safety, ….and ourselves.

We can all list pivotal days in our lives that have changed our focus, our families and our faith – for better or for worse; from our creation – until the last beat of our heart, and nothing compares to the day that everything changed; the day Jesus was born.

This baby was born in humble surroundings and troubled times, to a peasant class of an oppressed and conquered race. He came into a world dominated by the Roman empire, that based everything on glory and power. By choice – the Son of God was born into a simple village lifestyle, stripped of heros, and blemished by strife and brutality. Even the religious were corrupt and complacent.

And not much has changed since that day….
Right now, most of the world has civil unrest and is at war, and tensions around the world increase. Negotiated treaties change nothing – as countries experience one crisis after another. From the halls of Congress to the United Nations, one can search for the selfless motive of love – only to find it isn’t there…..

” For God so loved the world that He gave….” still separates Jesus Christ and the gospel – apart from every philosophy, initiative, amendment, and law passed and embraced by our government. In his last days, even Napoleon stuggled to understand the nature of God revealed in Jesus Christ. In exile, he wrote “Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and I – have founded empires by force, and they are gone. Jesus Christ alone founded His empire on love, and at this hour millions of men would die for Him whom they have never seen…”

Love is power unequaled by bombs, or bullets, and is capable of changing everything it touches. Jesus changed the world because He chose to come to earth as ‘God with us’…. In so doing – Jesus set Himself apart from every king and ruler. Whereas others fought against challengers, He chose to embrace the common man; offering the gift of intimacy and love and hope. What He said in essence was, “I really enjoy being with you….. In fact, I love you so much, that I want to walk with you every day.” This is what His arrival in Bethlehem heralded. While earthly leaders ascend to power, God in the flesh (John 1:1,14) descended – to empower the least… the last… the lonely… and the losers…. That kind of power – originating with Jesus,  is the kind of power that will change everything. This King didn’t change things through institutions or governmental rule, or walls and towers, or moats and armies, but through truth and love, planted as faith – in the hearts of ordinary people. He stands apart from other leaders, and presidents, and rulers or kings, because He doesn’t promote Himself or impose Himself on others, but rather – gives of Himself freely. He came like no other, loves like no other, lived like no other, and died like no other – only to arise from the dead ( like no other) to blaze a trail through this world into the beyond – for everyone that believes in His name.

Jesus changed everything by offering a lifelong purpose: to know God and to make Him known…. Without Him, our lives are like fishing in a puddle – with nothing to be caught.

He stands apart – as one who offers us joy in His presence, strength in His Word, hope in His promises, peace in His providence, meaning in His will, glory in His indwelling, and a love that increases as we walk in obedience.

Because He came down at Bethlehem, we have been given the opportunity for identity and more important – destiny. Jesus changed everything that day, when He came to earth to begin His journey of opening a way for us to be restored to a right relationship with the Father; not establish another ‘religion’.

Until Jesus came, all of mankind were like inmates trapped in a prison – locked in to an environment of dead religious routine – serving a sentence of death; confined, and awaiting parole or death.

Jesus came to open the door and offer an escape for the imprisoned soul, and all who believe in that one special day in Bethlehem – may walk through the opened prison door, set free from religion and sin, in to a new world where we are free to walk with Him and experience Him; and not just believe in Him; not as some historical figure, but as the living God who resides in us, by His Spirit.

With Christmas here once more, He still comes to hearts – asking for more than just a room at the inn.

The glory of Christmas 2011 is that He lives and still gives and He is asking for your ‘all’…..

When you give Him your heart, He will give you new life….

When you give Him your burdens, He will give you His peace….

When you give Him your ‘all’ – He will give you forever….

    …. and so much more

because of that first Christmas morning

    – when we commit our lives to Jesus, we each have a story….

    they did then…

    and we can today…..

Merry Christmas and love to each of you, Lindie

  11. Good points made on hating religion (Amen to that) but lax on pointing out that we are called to repent of sin and live holy unto the Lord.

  12. David Gonzalez Jan 18th 2012

I think the video points out very important issues in a right way. But there is always the danger of misunderstanding certain claims that are made. I mean, I know what the guy probably means, when he says “Religion says DO, Jesus says DONE” and there is truth in it, because only by faith in HIS finished work we are saved, but as James says,”Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. ”
And the truth is that Jesus actually says “done AND do”…That´s just a small example of some statements in the video which aren´t accurate…
I fear that people would use such a video to enforce their hatred against something they may call religiousity, but in reality is holiness and obeying Gods commandments… I fear that people would throw baby out with the bath water, so to say…

  13. The greek word “religion” basically means one’s, ceremonial observance of their faith – their demonstration of it. I think if one says all religion is wrong it’s kind of broad and could actually include those who live or ‘demonstrate’ a true one. This message ‘could’ encourage/empower those unlearned that anything that is organized or meets in a large, classical style church building is “religion” and thus worthy of being despised or even hated – like he says, he hates religion. I do appreciate his ‘religion’ which appears to be a having a real relationship with Jesus Christ. And this is what it is all about!

  14. Todd B Jan 18th 2012

When one looks with Jesus, He provides the things on His heart. Then you can speak what you are feeling from your own heart knowing it is from God the Almighty. This video seems to be from the heart, whether it’s all totally biblical is for you to investigate and ask yourself. This guys other teachings are good and I believe he is seeking the fathers advice before he speaks. Good on you brother for taking action….

  15. Othniel Jan 18th 2012

David Gonzalez: Your comment is perfect. The video is great and really well done. He is right that Jesus and religion are on opposite ends of the spectrum. But he opens the door for liberal, false grace Christianity that hates holiness and repentance. So if he had added a 20 second bit on the power of true repentance and the power to be transformed and filled with resurrection life, it would have been much better.

  16. LIKED IT! A group of us left organized institutional religion back in 2006 and have truly experienced freedom in Jesus. Mind you, I’m not talking about freedom to sin, but freedom to express the Jesus that lives in each of us on a daily basis. We have stopped living by the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and now live by the indwelling Christ. It’s Christ in you, the hope of glory and has nothing to do with fleshy efforts.

  17. David Gonzalez Jan 18th 2012

    a short add:

to say that “only following rules” is religious is another thing thats kinda sticky…of course it is religious if you only obey some rules for an outward appearance of holiness without a true, burning love-relation to God, and thinking that you would recieve salvation by doing this is even damnable…
BUT…Jesus tells us quite often that loving Him ACTUALLY MEANS to obey his commands….What is “obstain from fleshly lusts…”(for example) anything else than following a rule, or even “love your neighbour as yourself”….The Bible, and even the NT is FULL of commands…what is important is, that our good works flow OUT OF the relationship to Christ, out of the work he has finished…But lets not be fools…Jesus died on the cross so that we can actually live like him, being perfect as the father is in heaven…I believe that the bible says what it means and means what it says…

  18. Dieter Jan 18th 2012

Hi Guys (and girls) You all talk a lot about what is missing and what we have to be careful not to do and watch out for this and that, you want to Analise it to the bone. Well let me tel you its about Jesus Christ and the fact that you must follow Him and His ways. Stop dissecting and hear what our friend says. Its Jesus, Jesus and only Jesus the Way to God. I am not a theologian, but I know Jesus and His teachings and they teach us not to be Pharisees or Scribes.
OK, sorry I love you all.

  19. I think this young man is giving voice to maybe millions of ‘truth seekers’ and also many many so called Christians of all denominations who are really ‘white washed sepulchres’ judging those outside their tomb. A brilliant piece of work….just the kind of thing Jesus himself might have composed!

  20. David Gonzalez Jan 18th 2012

    Totally agree with you…
And thats something dangerous: Only focussing on a certain truth and not talking about another leaves you with a distortion of reality…
I mean…why would such a video be loved by so many people who are obviously not in a true relationship with God…?? Thats already kind of strange…I don´t accuse that Guy of being evil or something, maybe he just left certain things out because he has not fully grasped the effect his video would have…I don´t know…But the devil always comes with even a lot of truth and just a little bit of lie, or lets say a little bit of leaving out some truth, in order to create a complete disaster..thats how it works..a little leaven leavens the whole lump….thats why someone who makes strong statements about faith and doctrine in public should be doing this with great fear and trembling…It could start an avalanche of evil if its not fully the truth…I think thats why the bible says that not many should become teachers because those recieve a greater judgment….

  21. EXCELLENT – have also posted it on my facebook and sent a link to our Pastor. Jesus is all about relationship – not religion!!

  22. This is a good video – having an open discussion is necessary – although we need to be just as interested in hearing and sharing as opposed to giving our opinion.
John The baptist was a priest through his lineage – he did not wear the priestly garments though and preached out in the wilderness.
I know that we have to meet on a regular basis, but the “church” – the physical structure and the religious structure kills – it is like the parable of the mustard seed where the “religious” tree grows into a mighty structure and the “birds of heaven – evil” make their nest.
We need to get to a place where we will follow His Spirit – where we will wait on Him continuously.
    God Bless!

  23. Teshuva Jan 18th 2012

Sounds to me like he is a John the Baptist of his own wilderness experiences of lust and greed etc. crying out to God for the truth and deliverance.
He seen the letter of religion which killed him because he could not change what was inside, but seen death.
Then he met his savior Christ and the unfoldment of the natural man into the likeness of Christ started a change in him with power to overcome those things, because he received spiritual truth and substance.
For one to stop looking at porn, without Christ is their mind clear or do they still have those images that they refer to without looking at porn itself?
When the Divine Word/Christ in us the hope of glory comes, then with it comes wisdom, judgment and power and life or being.

  24. how do i post it to facebook ?
i’m 66yrs old and finally a voice of truth !

  25. I agree that it has its good points – its differentiating between religion and relationship with God. But there are things he says that are not scriptural, just for instance, about being sons. Yes we are His children! – but Paul also made reference to us being bond-slaves, as he called himself. We are told that whoever we are slaves to we will follow – either to sin or to righteousness (see Romans 6:15-23). We have been bought with a price – the blood of Jesus, and we are His.

What I am saying is this……if we are going to make videos, and preach “truth” to the world, then we must be very careful to ensure that what we DO say is completely true, based on scripture. It is not so much the mature Christians that are going to be affected by these proclamations – but the unbeliever and the “religious” to whom this is “aimed”. “Poetic license” cannot be applied to God’s Word, only the truth…..if it doesn’t rhyme and it is not absolutely true, don’t use it. We must be so very careful with God’s Word!

  26. I assume that when the speaker makes reference to Jesus’ hatred of “religion” that he is basing this on, at least in part, the concept that Jesus hated the “traditions of the Jews” that nullified the commandments of the same God they professed to serve…

    Consider the following:

Mt 15:3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

Mt 15:6 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

Mr 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

Mr 7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

Mr 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

On the subject of “religion” consider:

Jas 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

On the subject of holy living and personal righteousness please consider:

2Ti 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

1Ti 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

1Co 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame

Ro 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost

Ac 10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Mt 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Mt 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Ro 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Ac 24:25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled,…

Ps 11:7 For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

Ps 33:5 He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.

Ps 106:3 Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

Ps 119:40 Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness.

1Jo 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous

Joh 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

  27. Amen! This gives me hope for the next generation. I have always disliked religion. Religion told me as a teen that I wasn’t welcome in “their” tidy well run community. How many others do religion shun? I totally agree that Jesus was NOT religious and always tell others that Jesus wasn’t religious. I want to be like Jesus, not the religious. I don’t like being called religious-and quickly correct those who call me that. Yes I love going to church-I want to be in God’s house, but God doesn’t live there. Being religious doesn’t necessarily mean being Godly-you can be religious about your work, your political views, your lifestyle. Anything can be religious. I want to be like Jesus NOT religion!

  28. In His Glory Jan 18th 2012

I saw this & shared it on my FB. Often times we hear the argument “…….what has been done in the name of religion including Christianity…..” and then we try to explain the difference between “religion/man’s traditions” & a true spiritual relationship w/Christ. When you’re speaking to people who are alive on the outside but not on the inside – I’m not sure how much they can comprehend but I think agreeing w/on this point lowers their guard so that they might listen to what else you have to say. I’ll never forget the day a family member came up to us and said: “I see you’ve found religion!” I was taken aback thinking to myself.,….huh?,… what?…. religion?…, I have way more than that!” But it’s a common perception among unbelievers & then there are those religious Christians who don’t even know their totally missing out.

  29. Marc Wildman Jan 18th 2012

I see a more ‘organic’ fellowshipping of the saints being raised up–as outlined in Acts. I have been saying this for years. This supports the fact that G-d is probably about to do something new?

Why wouldn’t he speak through this ‘new’ generation?

World events are culminating, lining up, perhaps in order to ‘purify the bride’ by first reshaping the entire face of the Church.

The HS is always about change.

  30. Enough said, it is finished. I “have been crucified with Christ,” I am not beig crucified with Christ. What must we DO to Do the works of God? THIS is the work of God, to believe in the ONE He sent. ;)

  31. Jennifer Jan 18th 2012

Awesome! Posted it to FB as well. Controversial? You’re digging too deep, y’all. Or, with the exception of Andrew, you only want to sound smart/ “Biblical” in your comment, or you don’t know anyone under the age of 30… He came to seek the Lost. Bam.

  32. Jennifer Jan 18th 2012

@Kathe – I’m 49…. Go to video. click “share” click “facebook”. click post or share.

  33. Very good video! True message. Religion will place one in bondage as it is of man. Christ will set you free from all bondage, sin, sickness, and disease. We need more who will tell it like it is.

  34. I really understand where this guy is coming from – he’s seen that deadness of apostasy and ritual. I have a saying that we can’t go to church and we can’t dress up for it. The church are those who are the called-out ones. Separate. But ritual is not religion. As already pointed out, there is a pure religion that Jesus and James points us to. So, yes, Jesus and James and the rest of the apostles were religious.

My greater concern is that this Do/Done statement is contextual. Jesus said those who hear my sayings AND DO THEM are safe. Those how hear them and DO NOT DO THEM will have a great fall – perish.

Hypocrisy is what the video producer saw, but that doesn’t mean Jesus doesn’t demand holiness.

It’s very simple. We are saved when we repent (turn to the Lord and turn away from sin) by His grace. But, we must keeping walking on the razor thin line of His Kingdom citizen, slave and son, until the end to eat of the Tree of Life, manifestly (although we do give to eat while in the Kingdom yet on this earth).

Since he (and others) see Romans as the theological trump card, let us see what Paul says in context concerning works. The bulk of Romans is written concerning the works of the Law of Moses and Circumcision, not the works of obedience. IOW, the works of obedience are actually stronger in the New Covenant, living by the commandments of the King and the Apostles. This is indisuptable if one will look at Romans in light of Jesus’ very teachings. After all, he told the disciples to teach the nations to OBEY/OBSERVE/KEEP whatsoever He commanded them.

Back to Romans. What did Paul write in regards to entering into Eternal Life and our conduct here?

    Romans 1:16-18
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

Living by Faith is walking as He walked, empowered by the truth, blood, Spirit of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God.

But this next passage in Romans 2 is the clincher for “Done” preaching, as though there is no “Do” anymore:

    Romans 2:3-11
And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God? Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who “will render to each one according to his deeds”: eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For there is no partiality with God.

And lastly, how many times does Paul address the church saying, “Don’t be deceived – don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God?” Then, he goes on to list some of the works of the flesh vs the Spirit.

Brothers and sisters, I am so weary at times. So great is the need for us (those who called themselves Christians in this world, especially America) to wake up and understand the writings of the apostles in the Light of Jesus’ teachings and His expectations. Read Mat 25 and the overriding theme of the three parables there. False or slightly poisoned teachings, videos, audio, tracts, etc. are flying around. 14 million hits? How many people will be delivered from dead works to no works?

The work is so great, Father. The time is near, Lord. Your commandments, work on the cross and your resurrection, Jesus, are so precious, and yet there abounds so much confusion and willful attempts to destroy the simplicity of your good news of the Kingdom of God. Holy Spirit, there is a world’s weight that is grieving to you and a flood of other voices pretending to be you; many deceived to think they are hearing from you. Help! Help us Lord! Your will is that we would all come to the knowledge of the Truth and that none would perish but all come to repentance. Everyday that you don’t come back is one more beautiful, precious, sobering day that many may come to that continuing walk of being saved. Lord, please give those who are currently laboring great strength, great power in their speech, and great results in their efforts. Give the increase, Lord. For those who are standing idle in the marketplace, waiting to be hired, please send them – more of them – into the field to plow, plant, and water. We need more laborers – true laborers who don’t preach anything other than what you have commanded – even when it doesn’t fit our reformation theology. Let it be YOUR message of repentance and remission of sins; of Love, Faith, and Obedience. I ask this, Lord, for the sake of Jesus’ obedient work of revealing the Father to the world, establishing the Kingdom of God, sacrificing for sin, and being the first fruits of the newness of Life we have in Him.

Hear my prayer, O Lord of Hosts. Hear my prayer, Father. Amen.

  35. Meredith Jan 18th 2012

I think it was awesome! BUT!>… Considering all that the youth and the younger generation is getting involved in…..I also think is could push them further into it depending on where they stand with Truth. If they are following emotion and being caught up in the “movement” of today’s could encourage that. If they stand for the Truth and not could push them that way.

good video and I think like what some other say…good start.

  36. At least where I live, many or most *believers* are so much about *grace* that they have missed the boat. Sin is not spoken about nor is the cross or the blood. Sin doesn’t matter because of this *grace*. Some are into rules, yes, but so many are way over in left field on the grace message in our day, a false grace. I have heard this basic message over and over for many years, but the fruit of the overall emphasis in the video hasn’t been great. If we have lost anything in the church, it is the message of brokeness, holiness, the cross and the blood….they are all unfashionable messages. As has already been stated, he says some very good things…..but I’m not sure it is what we really need in this hour……but certainly God can use it for those who believe rules and conforming to religious standards (he wasn’t really conforming, if he was getting wasted and having sex all the time as he said…he was simply a lost kid, deceived by sin) Not trying to sound smart, just sharing the way it hit me.

  37. Oops…*that conforming to religious standards will save him* is what I didn’t finish saying at the end.

  38. Bud Bertino Jan 18th 2012

The theme of this video is growing and spreading in Christianity today. God has been showing me of late how all organised religion is like the tower of Babel, organised religion is Mystery Babylon in revelation, it is man’s way of getting to God, although it does do alot of good in peoples lives, there is tremendous false teaching in the organised churches, Jesus never meant for the church to build big buildings and cathedrals and have all the rules and regulations, but we are the church, the kingdom of God is within us and among us, its a spiritual temple, not literal, He meant for us to gather in our homes and flow in love, and help meet the needs of the poor and widows and orphans

  39. John B Jan 18th 2012

He makes some very good points.
But I must confess I do not like hiphop.
It is rather kind of glib and contains an attitude that leaves truth to be desired.
    But, yes.
He makes some very good (self-evident?) points.

  40. When you embed a YouTube video, to keep it from screen-option of launching iout of your page nto YouTube site (with video), place statement within end portion of embeded saying…
…this will disenable launching to YouTube site.

Religion, as is already obvious, in the last days described as many antichrist’s (false church and/or christians, leaders), these already very popular today. Perhaps the largest social clubs and political groups on earth today.

  41. Good video.
Thank you for making it known.
May the Lord use it to shake the present day “organised ” church

God wants spiritual food not religious nuts.
A very happy and blessed New Life year to you all

  42. Well he makes some truthful points now doesn’t he. Religion kills.

  43. Teshuva Jan 18th 2012

The buildings are not the church nor are we the church.
Christ is the church and we are to be baptized into him.
In doing so we can then sit at his feet and be taught of the master.
This guy has a following like the baptist and points people to Christ/The Church, and is the prerunner of the spirit.
Hip hop is not my thing either, but if Yeshua wants to come riding on that donkey as he has many others, then the message is what is important and we should hear the cry of the spirit to come to he that gives life.

  44. Cheryl Kerwin Jan 19th 2012

I think this young man is anointed, speaks the truth and yes the world as well as christians, are tired of religion which has caused many problems. Christianity is having a personal relationship with Jesus. Jesus wasn’t scared to confront the pharisees, and saducees because they always looked down on everyone, yes they knew the law but looked down on other people who were not like them.

  45. Godsgirl Jan 19th 2012

I have seen this ALOT! It has gone viral on FB and seems to be very popular. I think he is saying what alot of people feel.

  46. Duane R Jan 19th 2012

Although there are a few good points in the video, I actually find much more I disagree with. I understand what he is saying and where he is coming from, as I used to believe such things myself, but there is a fair bit of error in both reasoning and theology, including the very last line and its misapplication of Scripture. He makes many generalizations about religion, caricaturing it, essentially setting up a strawman.

Christianity is a religion by virtually every standard definition I have come across. Did Jesus hate religion or come to abolish it? No, of course not. Why would he? Did he come to correct certain aspects of Judaism and it’s many corrupt leaders? Of course, that’s at least part of why he came.

Most of what he states is wrong with religion and those who are religious, I very much see in those who believe that Christianity isn’t a religion, people such as himself. It’s a matter of individuals’ hearts, not whether or not Christianity is a religion.

Personally, I wouldn’t show or recommend this video to anyone.

  47. debylynne Jan 19th 2012

i believe what josh had to say was very very important. YES! to the “basic truth” this young man is sharing…it is ALL about the Lord Jesus Christ and NONE about a particular “denomination’s” rules and regs – BUT BUT BUT – he did not present a “balanced” view of what the Word of God actually SAYS (i.e. the son/slave and particularly concerning OBEDIENCE) and that is a GREAT danger – you can end up following “another Jesus”, as MULTITUDES are, if you do NOT hold FIRMLY to the truth of His Word. Jesus said, “if you love Me, you WILL obey Me” – the power to do so lies in BELIEVING Him – having faith IN Him and what He accomplished on Calvary – not JUST salvation for our souls, but the POWER to sanctify and transform us and conform us to His image….Jesus ISN’T “ok” with our sin as some like to portray – He came to sinners to SET THEM FREE – NOT to make it “ok” to stay where they were. i am afraid this young man doesn’t convey that aspect very well, although i appreciate what he is trying to say.

  48. Hi all, I think you are missing the point here. The target audience is mostly the unsaved and some ‘nominal’ believers. It is an excellent ‘punchy’ short presentation of the gospel of grace. I agree with a couple of posts above that caution against over analysis of the message, which is not a theological discourse. The reality is that simply walking in the Spirit and loving Jesus keeps one form sin and leads to holiness. Simples!

  49. Derek Hale Jan 19th 2012

Jesus came when he did because man had turned the word of God into a powerful religion.

He will return for the very same reason.Christianity has done the same thing to God’s word.

Christianity is no better that any other religion.Christ is in it as part of it’s name only.

Leave Babylon or fall with her.

  50. Godsgirl, you are correct in that “he is saying what alot of people ‘feel'”, but that is the problem. What we feel about things doesn’t matter. It is what the Lord of Glory says about the matter.

Btw, what if this guy posted a similar video in style but with the following message: Love you enemies, do GOOD to them, if you look at women to lust after her in your heart, you have already committed adultery, if a man marries a divorced (put away) woman he commits adultery, etc.

It is indeed popular. Jesus’ point exactly:

Luke 6:26 (NKJV) – Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

There is hope, if he is diligent to hear from the Lord and do His own knocking and stand on the Rock of Jesus’ teachings, with the apostles’ teachings following after and on top of Jesus’ teachings, not the other way around.

  51. I wouldn’t go so far as to say this is something Jesus would write. The young man is sincere in what he thing that stood out to me is he preaches one aspect of God’s grace, that is forgiveness but doesn’t point out the enabling aspect of grace. We have had a gospel of forgiveness for almost two thousand years but we need power over sin through His enabling grace by way of the Holy Spirit.Without the knowledge of God’s hatred for sin and his power to overcome we are doomed to another two thousand years of failure. We have all heard the story of babies learning to walk and there is truth to it but children are to become grown sons of God in Christ. We would all spend less time in the refiners fire if realize we have to pay for willful sin.
Hebrews 10:26,27.Let us go from saved to called to chosen ,faithful overcomers in Christ

    Thank you God bless

  52. Pastor Brian Bennett Jan 19th 2012

Have we as the church the body of Christ been in the religious attitudes of a dead works suppressing the young Jeus Loving ones? I know as I was coming up in the church as an adult of my own free will all I seemed to encountert for the most part was controlling spirits, hiding in religious men. I thank God for breaking me out of that man made church mold and am now preparing the youth to to the work of the Father in Jesus the Lord of alls name.

Know this the religious will continue in their religion condeming the remnant of God, and as God said to Elijah you are not alone there are thousands who you do not know that have not bowed the knee to baal just like you.

These youth that are coming out just like the youngman in the vidio are shaking this world and operating in Christ, the question fellow believers will we also obey to follow also?

Will we follow the master and go to all the world?

What will you do when as Jesus said they persucute you for His name sake as they hate Him so they will hate us that truely beleive with action and faith in the son of God who save and sends us.

Will we go with the flow of Gods river or sit down in the devils religion?

may the Lord bless you richly as you obey His calling in and on your lives, in Jesus name amen

  53. Good video. Heres the diff between religion & relationship. I will try to keep thiss shor as it’s a long story really.
Saul of Tarsus had religion. All the study & rituals & the Lord Jesus said “how can you escape the condemnation of Hell, you study the scriptures & they speak of me BUT YOU WOULDNT COME TO ME THAT i MIGHT GIVE YOU LIFE”. Saul hated the laws of God. He felt they condemned him etc etc.
King David loved the law, he foung “wondrous things” in it. Meditated on it nightly. Found God in it & salvation. Read about his relationship with God in the Psalms. God called him “a man after my own heart. They both had the same 5 books of Moses. Why the difference of result for both? It lies in the heart of a man. What are you looking for? Same with the study today.
Children of Israel saw Gods works, Moses knew His ways & now in the NT we are to know Him. Paul said “that I might know Him” Theology is the study of God but unfortunately bible schools don’t teach theology, they teach ABOUT theology. We must come to Him for life, not learn about him. It’s a huge diference….theres life in the one & death in the other. Relationship….what we all talk about & agree on but few have it, or religion, what you have if you don’t have relationship
    Blessings to you all

I shared this one on my Facebook page, too! Its on point! A scathing rebuttal to the harlot, apostate church! Refreshing!

  55. This young fellah thinks he has reinvented a wheel. I have known for over 20 years that it’s about Relationship, not religion..
Then again, the Bible speaks of True Religion – looking after orphans and widows..

  56. mjrhealth Jan 19th 2012

My son actually posted this. He is so spot on, Jesus said He will build His church, but man decided to go for it alone. So many pastors, priests, evangelists, deacons, prophets soon to be judged, for it be better that a milllstone be put around their neck and they be cast into the deepest ocean then offend one of these.

God forgive them I am sure many do not know what they are doing

pertaining to the video under discussion: it’s good, and i would agree with most of it, but i feel it helps to perpetuate the false dichotomy we see today about faith vs works as if they were black and white…”religion says do, Jesus says done” is taken all too wrong today…the more correct way to dispel our error is (which he kinda did in the middle of his spoken word piece): “if Jesus’ saving work is truly done in you, you WILL DO” because Jesus said come as you are and not stay as you are…and in the contemporary church, we have only focused on the “come as you are” as if Jesus is ok with us acting and looking just like the world without any remorse or guilt for our sin because He supposedly “finished it” without realizing a part of that finished work is that He will change our hearts and our minds by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit which is the evidence of the salvation that people so ignorantly confess…also people don’t understand that when Jesus was called a friend of drunkards and tax collectors, we think that means that Jesus would have “partied” and “hung out with” sinners as if He was totally tolerant and ok with it as long as you weren’t a “religious” pharisee which is total nonsense…if you look at it contextually, the so called “sinners” actually REPENTED and decided to leave their life of sin and follow Jesus and it is the very lack of a penitent heart in the pharisees that caused Jesus to deal so harshly with them, not merely because they were the religious leaders…and the sad reality today is that we have so many people who go to church and yet live like the world while calling people who are actually hungering and thirsting for righteousness a pharisee for not taking part and agreeing with their way of life without realizing that they themselves are the pharisee because as 2 timothy 3 talks about them having a “form of godliness but denying the power thereof”…a pharisee today does not necessarily need to know a ton of scripture or serve at church, but be a carnal and worldly “sunday christian” who holds to a form of religion and a profession of faith while denying their very religion and faith by the way they live their lives…
“the world is not looking for a new definition of Christianity but a new demonstration of Christianity” leonard ravenhill

  59. He has definitely seen the truth and I’m glad he’s speaking it. I’m just not so sure what he means by “I love the church,” because it is the institutional church that has promoted the very type of hypocrisy he’s addressing. It doesn’t take long for any group of well-meaning believers who gather together to fall into the structure, either.

  60. Robert Jan 19th 2012

Duane R I like what you had to say. I agree.

If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

I guess that refers to holiness. He should be referring to vain religion and not painting it with such a broad brush. Perhaps referring to false religion but I think vain is more definitive.

  61. Willem Jan 19th 2012

Well I can say this much, Poetry is Difficult to judge, because there aren’t many words for what the heart speaks. He might intend something in a truthfull way, but just use the wrong word. God looks upon men’s hearts, and I think this guy gave it his all. Sure i thought when he said, men searches God.. Whereas God should search men.. I think with God there is a balance in everything..

I must say this, he does not speak for older generations, he speaks to young people, and that is why it is misunderstood- we speak a different language..

Strange how we go to the letter, yet our hearts hear not a word. Who then is perfect? Yet we are made to aim, so will we fail.. But its in the getting up, and learning from mistakes that we learn. We were born in sin and deception and are way far from perfect, yet he aims, i give him this- my heart heard his, and so mine joined.. The church, as i know it my country, in my world, my perspective is fake, they do not know what they seek, maybe it is better for God to search for them.

Strange how we see through religion, you know why? They once were wounds.

    All the best

  62. Stephanie Jan 19th 2012

I don’t believe this is controversial at all – it is the basic truth.

  63. Duane R Jan 19th 2012

Thank you Robert and I agree with you as well. That is the very passage I had in mind. There is religion and there is vain religion; there are Christians and there are those who claim to be Christian. We should never generalize and paint with a broad brush, especially when discussing such important issues, as it causes too much confusion and misunderstanding.

  64. Marie Devine Jan 19th 2012

A great message, but there is a missing correcting emphasis.

How do we change? TRUTH is Jesus said to live by every word out of the mouth of God…(Matthew 4:4) Jesus said, If they believe not Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced though one rise from the dead. (Luke 16:31)

The Law of Moses is the law of the Kingdom of God for unity and direction. It is not about animal sacrifices; it is about obedience and the blessings or disobedience and the curses. Animal sacrifices on holy days were memorials of the crucifixion of Christ and they would have kept us close to the land instead of seeking riches and honors and being caught in our bottomless pit we call prosperity. It gives us guidance on how the obedient will dress, wear their clothes, cut their hair, not pierce their body etc. so that we would recognize believers and not be drawn away into fashion and pride.

Jesus shed the blood to erace our sins; but he is also the word of God given to show us what God calls sins. The message is fully RESTORATION of God’s word and an individual’s life back to the word of God as written, not as religion portrays it.

The Kingdom of God waits for a people who want God’s word to be King and protector. God created the word of God to act by His Holy Spirit to fulfill it… blessings and curses.

God has solutions to world problems we created by ignoring His wisdom. God is sready to set His leader as head of our nation IF we want His word to rule…..
The choice is ours…. lifelong employment or a garden paradise lifestyle..

  65. From this video

Did anyone hear a call to “step out of religion?”

Did anyone hear a call to “step up above religion?”

Did anyone hear a call to “step forward into the life of bringing change to a troubled world? Luke 4: 18 – 22″

My question is are we ready as believers to bring ALL of Jesus gospel to the world around us. And why are we willing to live at such a low place when ALL the provisions of Heaven are available to those who are willing.

Are there any John the Baptist in the house? Acts 26:18

  66. wineskin Jan 19th 2012

I like the way this guy exposes our governing religion for what it has truly become….another Master of our lives.

We were told this can’t work and never will.
We were also told to come out of her and get back to our first love.

Like it or not, it’s time to get out of Christianity and back to Christ.

  67. Good thoughts and some good truth in what is being spoken .
But repentance and love is mising also sounds a little harsh just like religen can be harsh just as well .
Very well done though but still needs a christian..

  68. This is a dangerous piece of Gnostic propaganda.

  69. Though this appears to be a commercial production and not necessarily the views of the presenter? (
As part of the big picture, the content covers a fundamental part, and is spot on.
God says half baked Christianity makes him sick Gen 3:16
This to a church that is self-righteous, poverty stricken, blind, no commendable points.
No gold tried in the fire, No Jesus pure faith
No white robe, None of Jesus righteousness.
No eyesalve, to cure their blindness. No Holy Ghost and fire – Christ in them. Jesus is shut out, keeps knocking, (but they seem also to be deaf)
Luke-warm, good for nothing. except to be spued out!
Yet the plea and promise is still there! “Don’t keep your mind shut to Holy Ghost revival – open the door, I will come in.”
Why should any Christian not know this as truth or dispute its validity?

  70. Gary Schnell Jan 19th 2012

I found this young man’s video to be very thought provoking and introspective. I mean in that isn’t that what we are called to do in the word? To examine our our spiritual condition? I’m not a child and have been involved in the faith for over thirty years. And what I seen seen the so called church turn into in America in particular, has given me great pause to reflect and wonder, what was I thinking someone get me out of here. I stopped using the term Christian long ago,and now just prefer to be a follower of Christ and his word, the whole word and nothing but the word. It’s no wonder to me that America is in such poor condition in every way. The Pastors were suppose to be the moral and ethical lightening rod for the nation, but what is shown of them today is little more then failed used car salesman exploiting a new scam. For myself I have seen more damage done in the name of Christ and in what I have come to call christian Fun houses then could even be possible at an outlaw biker gathering. Which makes me ponder the word REMNANT and Just what that is. many are called, few are chosen,.. the ekklesia the called out ones. How many are still standing in a gaggle of confusion, and how many have been called out heard and left? Good for this young man,I pray his journey to the thrown room of the most high God be blessed and guided every inch of the way. Peace and the knowledge of The most high God be upon all.

  71. Half truth’s = deception.

  72. PLEASE, this is URGENT for anyone who preaches/ teaches…

Although the video’s message is spot on, it really does not fit most modern, western churches. Their problem is NOT that they preach religion, but rather that they preach a false Gospel and NOT the way of the Master, Jesus!

Why do most new Christians sooner or later become backsliders? According to statistics, 80-90% of people who made a commitment to Christ after a while become disillusioned and fall away. Interestingly, it has nothing to do with a lack of follow-up as was suspected in the early 90s.

Please allow me to share one of the most insightful and best explanations for this seeming phenomenon, presented by Ray Comfort. Seeing that a Pastor/ Bible Teacher/ Evangelist/ Preacher etc. will face tougher judgement, please pass this on to anyone you might know in such a position. It is vitally important! Many who think they know Jesus and who preach and teach about Him will hear from Him that He does not know them. How terrible!

Please, I urge you to watch this and pass it on. You won’t regret it!

    Blessings, and All 4 Jesus!

  73. Heather Anne Jan 19th 2012

Thank you for putting into words what I wanted to express so David Gonzalez and Jeff … this video has some good things about it BUT he’s not presenting the full counsel of GOD. There is no reference to acknowledging and confessing sin and then repentance and that our GOD is Righteous and Holy as well as Loving! I live in a town where too many “Christians” love to ‘take’ things like this video and turn it into a license to sin. It’s sickening some of the things that I’ve overheard in churches here … e.g. “Pornography is just admiring the human body” … UGHH! And “We’re all about love here” and they mean permissiveness.

  74. Steve G NSW Australia Jan 19th 2012

Well done, Good to see a young bloke seeing through what some of us have already seen, I was an out of church Christian for a while because of seeing what has been presented until the Lord let me into my own ministry. My spirit was in agreement with this, He has a good future ahead of him.
Anyway I downloaded the words for those that enjoyed it. To get if off from here, Hightlight the text, then press the Control button while pressing C (shortcut for copy), open a new Word page, then either right click mouse to past or Control V (shortcut paste), You may have to then re-highlight the words you cant see (they may have been pasted over in white is is the colour on here) then change the colour to black.

What if I told you, Jesus came to abolish religion?
What if I told you getting you to vote republican, really wasn’t his mission?
Because republican doesn’t automatically mean Christian,
And just because you call some people blind, doesn’t automatically give you vision.
If religion is so great, why has it started so many wars?
Why does it build huge churches, but fails to feed the poor?
Tells single moms God doesn’t love them if they’ve ever been divorced Yet God in the Old Testament actually calls the religious people whores
Religion preaches grace, but another thing they practice, Tend to ridicule Gods people, they did it to John the Baptist, Cant fix their problems, so they try to mask it,
Not realizing that’s just like sprayin perfume on a casket
Because the problem with religion is that it never gets to the core, It’s just behavior modification, like a long list of chores.
Lets dress up the outside, make things look nice and neat,
Its funny that’s what they do to mummies, while the corpse rots underneath,
Now! ain’t judging I’m just saying be careful of putting on a fake look,
Because there’s a problem if people only know that you’re a Christian by that little section on your facebook
In every other aspect of life you know that logics unworthy
Its like saying you play for the lakers just because you bought a jersey
But see I played this game too; no one seemed to be on to me, I was acting like church kid, while addicted to pornography. I’d go to church on Sunday, but on saturday getting faded, Acting as if! was simply created to have sex and get wasted.
Spend my whole life putting on this façade of neatness,
But now that! know Jesus,! boast in my weakness.
If grace is water, then the church should be an ocean, Cuz its not a museum for good people, it’s a hospital for the broken I no longer have to hide my failures! don’t have to hide my sin, Because my salvation doesn’t depend on me, it depends on him. because when I was Gods enemy and certainly not a fan, God looked down on me and said, “I want that man!”
Which is so different from religious people, and why Jesus called em fools
Don’t you see hes so much better than just following some rules?
Now let me clarify, ! love the church, !love the bible, and I believe in sin
But my question, is if Jesus were here today, would your church let Him in? Remember He was called a drunkard and a glutton by “religious men” T
he Son of God not supported self-righteousness, not now, not then.
Now back to the topic, one thing I think is vital to mention, How Jesus and religion are on opposite spectrums,
One is the work of God one is a man made invention, One is the cure and one is the infection.
Because Religion says do, Jesus says done.

Religion says slave, Jesus says son,
Religion puts you in shackles but Jesus sets you free.
Religion makes you blind, but Jesus lets you see.
This is what makes religion and Jesus two different clans,
Religion is man searching for God, but Christianity is God searching for man.
Which is why salvation is freely mine, forgiveness is my own,
Not based on my efforts, but Christ’s obedience alone.
Because he took the crown of thorns, and blood that dripped down his face
He took what we all deserved, that’s why we call it grace.
While being murdered he yelled “father forgive them, they know not what they do”, Because when he was dangling on that cross, he was thinking of you
He paid for all your sin, and then buried it in the tomb,
Which is why im kneeling at the cross now saying come on there’s room
So know I hate religion, in fact I literally resent it,
Because when Jesus cried It is finished, I believe He meant it

  75. Anthony Donaghey Jan 19th 2012

God is not against religion, that is a modern misconception clinging to us since the 60’s hippy movement. God tells us that good religion is to look after orphans and widows, (the needy in our societies) and to keep ourselves unspotted from the world, to be a holy people seperated from the world and unto God. So, according to God in His Word, religion is not a dirty word or concept! So Jesus is very much about religion, the religion of Love, the religion of Holiness, the religion of being set apart onto God through grace, repentance of sin and absolute trust that God is who He says He is and that He means exactly what He says.. And as regards the kids being uncomfortable about being labelled “wrong ” or “different” we are all “wrong” and “different”, (meaning God’s ways and thoughts are not our ways and thoughts” and we need to be un-comformed to this world by the renewing of our minds by the daily washing of the Word by the power of the Holy Spirit because we are so “wrong” and “different” and when we do this we will be a people reborn, remade back into the image of the One who created us. We have to get away from this idea that God is “cool”, He is not “cool” He never has been “cool” the only one concerned about their “coolness” is Satan. We cannot, I repeat, we cannot, try to tweak God’s Word to fit in with todays culture just as we cannot take the culture of heaven and fit it in with the Now Generation’s ideas of what culture God should create for us. Sure, what calls itself the church today is what these people are rebelling against, but what have they got in mind to replace it with, their own version of what a “church” should be. Christianity is a relationship, it is also a religion, no matter now “uncool” that may appear to us super cool people today, religion is a latin word simply meaning “a knowledge of God” and please, anyone, explain to me that knowing God throught Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit does not end up with us having a “knowledge of God” – word play and pride is what seems to be going on here and we are to submit ourselves and walk with HUMILITY with our LORD. Hope this helps. Shalom.

  76. Lynn - 2 Jan 19th 2012

While I appreciate the young mans enthusiam towards the Lord -and my heart has so much love for this generation – I do find some things that truely concern me.

When I see a video like this – I see it perhaps could be a fun and enteresting thing for this generation to watch – but it lacks a few things – and the Lord might use it but it is lacking in conviction THAT BRINGS TRUE REPENTANCE and in fact it might give the wrong impression to this generation and they too will say I hate relegion – or church.

Saddly I also see it as an aid in causing many to justify their hatred for leadership and their justifying their staying in the wilderness with hardly any real face to face agape fellowship.

What I have seen over the last decade concerning many wilderness people is they have no one to be accountable too and yes I know we are to be lead of the Holy Spirit – yet God’s plan is and always has been Godly Holy men sent and equiped by God to watch over his sons sheep.

They were never ment to become what we have today a one man show under self apointed Apostles to make sure the one man is prospering and keeping the tithes coming for their particular denomination.

They were to keep the wolves out – and protect the truth of Gods word.

Much of the church is totally out of control – and many have departed from the true gosple and Jesus Christ – and I have seen it in both – the IN CHURCH AND THE OUT OF CHURCH WHOM HAVE BOTH BECOME STAGANT.

YET THERE IS HOPE – IF – Christs true sheep would come out from hidding in the wilderness – and begin to ernestly search and seek others whom are the true bride of Jesus Christ -and pray for divine apopointments – and agape fellowships – it only took 12 men under Jesus Christ to turn the world upside down.

There is very little if any evangelism – I hear happening and in the most ripe of days- for evangellism – and it seems I have heard so many say – over an over again – forget everything you have ever learned – saints if you had heard the true gospel of Jesus Christ hold on to the truth – God has not changed nor has his word – he changes not – he is the same yesterday – today and forever – the gospel has never changed – nor the requirements for salvation.

So many beginning to rise up -not even believing the written Word of God is very relevant for today that live more on revelations and expierances – and the sadist of it all is- I have seen soooo many new unbibical teachings creep up in the last ten years and many begin to make their own relegion when in fact they came out of relegion only to become as deceived or more deceived than they were to begin with.

Now please do not get me wrong – I believe in the wilderness expierance – I know God can do some of his best work there – and I believe in a coming out from the apostate church and relegion – I have myself – BUT IT DOES NOT END THERE.

I just do not believe it is a place we are to remain for ever we are to have been purged and prepared a walking living testimony his light to go and take the land – yet I see instead we have become lazy.

There are true holy sent men of God whom are out there -whom uphold the truth – God has always had his rement – that we so many in the wilderness are the missing part these last few years that have needed us whom have been in the wilderness – to stand by and to help and to co-partner withthem for the sake of the gospel – having established a safe place for the new converts to go and be discipled – trouble is we are more confortable sitting behind our computers – leaving these sent and ordained men of God stranded.. and making few new converts and leaving the few in harms way.

It is time we must step up – and step out – and search for other holy saints of God and begin to team together face to face – using our gifts and strengthing the body of Jeus Christ – strong in the Lord – having agape fellowship – and going together to seek those whom need to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ – and evangelize.

Going and helping the poor and being Jesus feet – perhaps gathering in ones home – praying and then going together – doing street ministry – nursing home/hospis – hospital – or in our prisions in the parks – door to door – yes knocking on doors – You may be suprised how many need prayer and trusting the Lord to give you an open door for the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Many I have seen come out of the organied church – and so many for good reasons – only to have lost their zeal for the Lord and their passion for the gosple.

Now please understand I am not saying this about – all – within the Out of Church those in the wilderness – I have ment some awsome saints of God who have a passion for the poor and lost – whom are out of church – just that I know there has to be masses of saints out there – that are doing nothing and so the pieces of the true bride of Christ are missing – and so many not about the great commission we who belong to Jesus Christ as commanded by Jesus Christ.

Andrew has spoken of Prayer – for this nation – and he is right – He even had a phone conferance call every week for I believe four years that I am aware of and there was some awsome things that took place there.

JUST WHAT WOULD HAPPEN – if we who are in the wilderness actually CAME OUT! and set a set date in the paper for a gathering in the park for prayer for our cities – calling all the wilderness people in your city to commit to prayer and to come and meet one another face to face and group up for fellowship – GETTING TO ACTUALLY KNOW ONE ANOTHER – and CREATING team evangelism for our cities? proclaimimg it is time to come out CALLING AN ASSEMBLY OF HIS SAINTS TOGETHER -and be the body of Jesus Christ – his light in a very darking world?

For any concerned I speak this to myself also. This is not to bring condemination to anyone – but to encourage and exort one another to a much higher calling – and to encourage all to begin to call out to the wilderness body of Jesus Christ and also pray for Godly men and women that are willing to help begin to evangelize whom believe in the truth of Gods word and for agape fellowship.

Hope I didn’t take this to far off track .

It is – JUST I HAVE SEEN IT IS TIME – TO GATHER THE BODY TOGETHER FACE TO FACE AND BE HIS TRUE DISCIPLES to begin to call them out of the wilderness and begin to make an eternal differance in the lives of many.

    God Bless, lynn

I think there are some good/true points. However, preaching part of the truth while leaving out an essential element is simply dangerous. He needs to include repentence of sin, and pursing holiness in his video. As a christian in my twenties and early thirties, this was the way I used to think, the whole ‘don’t do, it’s done thing’, with a heavy emphasis on grace, as this was what I had been taught as a young christian. But it is not the whole truth. It allowed all kinds of evil to enter my life and for sin to remain. It also encouraged complacency in my walk with God. Yes, it is about a relationship with Jesus, and when you love Jesus, really love Him and know Him, you want to please Him and obey His commands. That does not mean we do not fall into sin, and grace and love should be shown to someone who has fallen into sin and has genuinely repented. BUT, God tells us to deal differently with a believer who is living in gross unrepented sin.

“I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people- not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolators. In that case you would have to leave this world. But I am now writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolator or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.

What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. Expel the wicked man from among you.” 1 Corinthians 5:9-13

Obviously how we deal with a believer and an unbeliever is different. We absolutely are meant to rebuke a believer lving in unrepentant sin, and if he does not repent to not associate with him. That does not mean we are ‘self righteous’.

You have to ask if someone is going to church but getting drunk and sleeping around every weekend if they are saved at all. That is more the starting point if someone is struggling like that and has remained unchanged if they claim to be a christian.

My fear is that this video will be used as more encouragement to have the cheap grace thing of which there is already an abundance and make anyone willing to call sin out in a believer afraid of being called self righteous. Jesus condemned the Pharisees because they followed rules without love, so obviously our motivation must me love for the Lord and for others.

I just think this video fails to make the distinction between saved and unsaved. Therein lies the danger, however true some of his other points may be.

  78. Anthony your definition is technically correct.
However i don’t see true Bible Christianity as a religion in the way the world today perceives or understands the meaning of that word.
Christianity is The Way of Life. – The only Way Conversely, “man’s religion” – ideas, thoughts, traditions, superstition, doctrines, knowledge of God, serve only to pollute and destroy Christianity’s message, reality, purpose and end result – Christ (The Anointing) IN you The Hope of Glory.

Almost all folk I talk to outside of “main stream” – false Christianity, including those that have walked away from it, equate religion with every thing that is wrong and obnoxious in those organizations! It was mainstream religion that crucified Him!
The word religion today has changed its popular meaning from when it was translated in the Bible.
When referring to God’s church I prefer not to use it. No I am not religious in the sense of mans understanding of that term.
When i testify of Christ to people who have become acquainted with me, they often remark “but you are not religious” code for “but you have no obnoxious baggage” Hope that makes sense.

Also he is mish-mashing the institutional ‘church’ system (business), with the true ekklesia. I know we go through different revelations in different stages of our walk, but it is highly dangerous to go publicising it in a worldwide video like that, when there are mistruths and true distinctions lacking. Whenever something is wildly popular like this, you do have to ask why.

  80. Judith Eddy Jan 19th 2012

Amen and Amen! The amount of hits shows how timely a message this young man has brought. Should make you ‘mad or glad’ and either one says “Do you hear me now?”
Let the walls come down so the true Church of Jesus Christ can be seen! I am sure that the ‘religious spirits’ are quite stirred up LOL

  81. Sheryl Jan 19th 2012

I LOVED LOVED LOVED this video! “In the last days your sons and daughters will prophesy in the streets…” or in this case on the internet. God has quite literally raised this young man up to speak the WORD that so many need to hear. Instread of arguing over religious dogma, why can’t our fellow Christians rejoice that this young man is preaching the Gospel of Christ to a hurting world? He doesn’t have to have the whole of the scriptures in one video. But it is laudable, that he is laying Christianity bare to the core. Stripping off all the trappings, down to just Jesus, His Love, His death on the cross for our sins, and the final summation that we are all sinners saved by His Grace — not by our works that any man should boast. AMEN brother, preach it — you are right on.

  82. My 17-year-old grandson showed me the video. He was very impacted by the message, a message the world needs to hear. Wake up, Church!

I thought the video was well done and I hope it reaches a lot of people. I too hate religion and I believe in the last days (perhaps now?) more and more people are going to be deceived by Religions. There WILL BE a GREAT FALLING AWAY – from the TRUTH, and more and more perfume will be needed to cover all the living corpses.

  85. avoice Jan 19th 2012

This video exemplifies all that is wrong with the thinking of a very worldly church.
The Bible speaks of religion that is pure and undefiled. It is taking care of widows and orphans, and keeping ourselves unspotted from the world.
    Jesus is God.
    Holy Spirit is God.
Holy Spirit wrote the Bible and layed out the mandates for the church, and for pure religion.
This video is associated with Rob Bell’s ministry. I don’t know if Bell started it, but google this video, and you will find an immediate connection to Rob Bell.

This video is deceiving and deception.
Religion is pure and undefiled, and Jesus came to build it.
False religion is evil and full of death, and Jesus came ot abolish it.

I really hate that so many modern Christians cannot see the deception in this video.

  86. This video only gives us part of the problem. I know many western churches where they are NOT religious, yet they are still deceived.

    Where is repentance?
The problem is NOT religion, but rather the preaching of a false Gospel WITHOUT REPENTANCE FIRST and then grace.
Why are there so many lukewarm Christians? Because a false gospel gives false expectations with a wrong focus.

    PLEASE, watch this:

According to statistics, 80-90% of people who made a commitment to Christ after a while become disillusioned and fall away. Interestingly, it has nothing to do with a lack of follow-up as was suspected in the early 90s, and it also has nothing to do with someone preaching religion.

Again, please watch this and pass it on. You won’t regret it!

    Blessings, and All 4 Jesus!

  87. avoice, I saw that the video was associated with a church called “mars hill” – which is the name of the group Rob Bell was associated with.
However there is another group using that name associated with the controversial Calvinist preacher Mark Driscoll. It seems the video may be associated with the latter and not Rob Bell’s group. No less cause for concern though.

  88. Considering that this guy has only known the Lord for four years, he does a fairly good job at distinguishing between Jesus and religion. In ten years, he’ll probably do an even better job. What he needs to realize, though, is that Christianity is also a religion (it’s a man-made religion that is based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ) and that the church (which is the embodiment of Christianity) is a counterfeit that was invented by Constantine. In other words, Jesus did not establish the church. He established the ekklesia, which is completely different from the church. For more info, visit

Hey Tim, good to hear from you!
My take on anything (pretty much) that goes viral is that it should be viewed with caution.

  90. Jesus also said to obey the commands, and so how are the young people this video will appeal to supposed to even know the commands unless they go to church or study the Bible to learn them.?
Like most things, this video has it’s good points and will hopefully bring into the fold some of the unsaved and bring them around to a relationship with the Lord. I don’t know enough young and unsaved people right now to be able to recommend it.

  91. Wow! What a mixture.

Jesus did NOT come to abolish religion. He came to make a way for the restoration of fellowship between man and God.

NOWHERE in scripture is it stated or even suggested that abolishing religion was His aim. He came to deal with the SIN that separates man from God.

  92. It was good to hear from you too avoice.

  93. Michelle J Jan 19th 2012

When I showed this to my teenager’s, one had an interesting comment, ” How would that help someone come to know God, or even want to know about him” . He means some one outside of the Church setting, as my son’s are raised up in the Church, and understand the lingo.

It seems like (Churchianity talk ) which is religious.

I agree with you Avoice on this one, it’s deceptive.

When he said, Jesus did it all for me by his obedience, that’s where the message strayed. Yes, He did a complete work on the cross, but we still need to work out our own salavation with fear and trembling. We need to be obedient.

  94. MichelleJ, if the video is asociated with the Mark Driscoll Mars Hill (and I’m confident it is) they mean Jesus literally did it all – including choosing who would be saved.

They see no one is capable of anything until God has acted to regenerate them and THEN repentance and faith are not only possible but inevitable in that person’s life.
As Calvinists they believe that if God has not chosen a person they can never be born again so will never repent or believe because they will be unable to do so.

  95. Michelle J Jan 19th 2012

Tim, if that is what they believe, then I guess their video was just to entertain the masses?

  96. MichelleJ.
Who knows what they think their purpose for doing it is.

And I’ve found confirmation that there is a link to Mark Driscoll whose mars hill website currently (Jan 18th) greets viewers with a large banner announcing “Porn Again” – pastor Mark and a former porn star discuss pornography.

Driscoll’s main claim to fame and his particualr attraction to young people centres around his use of shock tactics such as the name of the event mentioned above.

  97. It is taking someone from THIS generation of Believers to reach this and the next generation with their genra – music, technology…I’m proud of Jeffrey’s message and hold him high unto the LORD and ask that each of us pray for MORE grace, wisdom and revelation as he walks forward in this gift that is obviously of God!

  98. What is his message?

That religion is the enemy and sin isn’t?

What did Jesus REALLY come to do according to His word?
    How does/should that affect us?

  99. Michelle wrote:When he said, Jesus did it all for me by his obedience, that’s where the message strayed. Yes, He did a complete work on the cross, but we still need to work out our own salavation with fear and trembling. We need to be obedient.

Yes, where was the TRUE Gospel and the need for repentance?

Again, please watch this. You won’t regret it!

    Blessings, and All 4 Jesus!

  100. Like the video alot. Also listen to the amazing atheist. Was sorry to see so much hate for Jesus posted on a video. But then again, Jesus said that they hated me and they will hate you too because of me.

  101. Thought the following might be helpful to read:

An interesting discussion of this video by Kevin deYoung –

He also has a follow up article in which he includes recent correspondence with Jeff Bethke who created the video –

  102. Not sure why it’s controversial. : 0
Great to see young people with a passion differentiating between dead religion of the Pharisees who missed Jesus altogether and living, breathing connection with Almighty God through Jesus. Jesus is building His church and these are glimpses of the direction He wants to take us. Let’s walk in step with Him.

  103. I’m not sure why this is generating so much criticism. This is not supposed to be a theological treatise. If it was it would be so long that people wouldn’t watch it. No, it’s a piece of rap expressing the heart of a young man who hates religion and loves Jesus. As he grows in his faith he will, no doubt, get some of his misunderstandings (if that’s what they are) ironed out.
I’ve posted this to Facebook because the heart of the message is true – Christianity is not a religion it’s a relationship. That’s the point of the video and he makes it very well.

  104. Nice video…The only way to “work out your salvation” is to first recieve the word of truth That God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself and to as many as recieve HIM/Jesus He gave them power to become or to work out, that which is now within.
Yes, that work is finished, and the only way to work out your salvation is by believing just what the video said “it is done, finished, therefore we are complete in him and our FAITH in his completed work will bring forth His perfection from the seed of truth that was planted wiithin your soul and death will be swallowed up in victory.

  105. Anthony Jan 19th 2012

Amen avoice and TIm – If this is associated with Bell or Driscol, then it is most definitely not the Gospel Jesus came to show, teach, preach and be. The fact that it is so popular is also something to be concerned about – we are told in the last days there will be a great falling away, not a great, popular revival. The knowledge of God through Christ Jesus is the only pure religion, part of whose fruit will be caring for widows and orphans and coming away from the world, walking in righeousness by the power of the indwelling Spirit of God Almighty. Bell and Driscol are both universalists, this can be clearly seen in their own writings, they believe all faiths are of God, Bell also teaches against the reality of Hell and wants to return us all back to the monastic movements spawned by the Catholicism that spawn the Dark Ages, an age that quenched the Spirit of God, an age that taught of works and penance and Purgatory. And of course, on top of all of this, it will be just sooooooo cool, the youth will love it, relate to it, want to be a part of it. In short it is worldly because it is of the world and the world will love it because the world loves anyting that lines up with the spirit of the age and the spirit of our age is primarily psychological and comsumer driven and this is what this video is all about, being cool, being relevant, being hip to the spirit of our age. It is this, and many other fads and gimics just beyond the horizon, that are pathing the path for the Man of Perdition, this is all about establishing his church, the whore of Babylon. What really surprises me is how so many can so easily throw away their corwns for something so obviously not of the Christ of the Bible. Heartbreaking, tragic beyond scope, and yet something we have been warned to be on the lookout for. To those with the eyes to see and the hears to hear, Shalom, may HIs peace continue to fill your hearts and enlighten your eyes. Love you all. AGD

    i hear you my friend.

Most of Christianity teaches that when we are saved by God the job is done,as though it is all down hill from then on.Nothing could be more untrue.

The Israelites were saved from captivity yet needed 40 yrs in the wilderness to work out their salvation.Only a remnant came through to enter the promised land.

It is still the same today,Jesus did not change this.He brought a new covenant,we must follow Him,which is to obey His commands.

Christianity is stuck in the wilderness and dying like flies.

  107. Derek Hale Jan 19th 2012

The falling away of the church was prophesised 2000 years ago when the last days began. The falling away began with Constantine,Christianity is a fallen church just as Judaism was when our Lord came to it.

He will come again for the very same reason,to the fallen church. This is his mission always.

  108. He met Jesus because somebody shared the word, prayed and believed. In due course he’ll be in Heaven.

Conflicts and problems inside The Church is nothing new. We are already well informed by the Mainstream media. This dude should stop ranting until he has some answers. Clearly they cannot be found in every church, but he has the opportunity to extract them out of the Bible just as we all can do. Then he, too knows what to believe and how to proceed.

The answer is the Kingdom of Heaven among us. More about is at in section Parables explained. If that’s not acceptable then one is stuck with the present. And so is he.

avoice, i´m totally with you in this (if you read my previous posts)…
i think the video strengthens a movement which is `modern` and which throws out the baby with the bathwater…which confuses holiness and obedience to GOD and his word with religiousity and pharisaism…
DOESN´T ANYBODY ANYHWERE SENSE ANYTHING LIKE THIS??? I´m sensing this spirit even in my church but also in general almost every place i go…if you want to go 100% for JESUS with EVRYTHING he said, you´ll be called a bigot, a religious and legalistic person….
i think this video plays into the hands of this spirit…
i sensed it in my spirit from the very beginning…
the video also makes use of `coolness` in many ways…which is worldly…it just leaves a bad taste somehow…

  111. Kathleen in WA State Jan 19th 2012

Like so many, I actually liked what this young man did. I also posted it my FB. My own flight from religiosity lead me straight to the arms of Jesus, and for the past 35+ years I have found Him to be so very worthy, so very faithful.

In hindsight, though, I wonder if I didn’t somehow inadvertantly toss the proverbial baby out with the bathwater or, more to the point, toss the church under the bus.

    The definition of religion is:
    1. the service and worship of God or the supernatural; or the commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance
    2. personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices
    3. archaic: scrupulous conformity : conscientiousness
    4. a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith

There is not much to apologize for there. Religion as described is not such a bad thing. I don’t believe the young artist meant his rap to make it so; but the abuses of religion (ie., institutionalized ritual & relgiosity) are what received his ire.

Here’s where my hindsight troubled me: How many people of the world understand the distinctions he made? If he were “rapping to the choir” that would be one thing, but way too many young people watched it & mocked it. That’s probably to be expected even if the doctrine presented were spot on. The world surely does seem to enjoy mocking the things of God.

I still like the video, and I applaud the young man for being so creative in presenting God’s love so effectively … even in hindsight.

    Blessings to all,

  112. Brother Amartey Jan 19th 2012

We need revival now, and revival is coming any moment soon. Wait for it; it’s already at the door for a massive shaking, healing, restoration, deliverance and salvation.

  113. Wonderful video. Please people stop the theological dissection and accept that it is not a Spurgeon type sermon, it is meant to be short punchy witty Gospel of grace presentation of the person of Jesus Christ. Many of the comments here have a patronizing tone. Too many teachers methinks.

  114. Michelle Jan 19th 2012

I see this as a kid speaking to what his generation is seeing. There is a lot of truth in what he says.

The younger generation is tired of the whitewash of the spirit of religion. They want and are looking for something that addresses their own time and problems. Of course Jesus is the answer, but He is not being found in the main stream churches doing the same old rituals.

What comes to mind is, work with people where they are at. This is something that is very difficult to do for those who are maturing in Christ, and are learning at their own level of experience developing that relationship with the Lord.

I believe that the grace of God is on this young man, and that what he has put together will be used for the glory of God. It opens up the conversation among our young people in order for them to become interested in who Jesus is.

If all the doctrines have to be correct for God to work through, then none of us would be used for His purpose would we?

  115. David Gonzales wrote:

Yes David, discernment is needed! You obviously have it!

You are absolutely right. Anyone who preaches or teaches repentance and following HARD after Christ, picking up ones’ cross, being obedient, suffering through hardship, expecting trials and tribulations will be called “religious”, a party-pooper who doesn’t understand that Jesus did it all for us and that He only wants us to have love, joy and peace, and more…

BEWARE of the deception that lurks around the corner! How much leaven does it take to spoil the whole lot? How much deceptive teaching does it take to spoil a mans heart? Jesus said, “a LITTLE leaven…”

What does it profit the church when the fall-away (backsliders) rate is 80-90%? Why do people fall way? Because they have been deceived by a false gospel, following another jesus! They have been taught that being a Christian is fun, fun, fun. Will this young man stay the course when the going gets tough?

We do NOT need a popular view on religion! What we need is the TRUE Gospel!

Please listen to JESUS: “Not everyone who will say on that day, ‘Lord, Lord…’

We must preach the ONE, TRUE, Gospel, lest we become guilty!

Again, please watch this. You won’t regret it!

Mario your commentary addresses those who have already found the Lord, who are interested in following after Him and what sacrifice that really does entail. It is directed to disciples of the Lord.

But it does not speak to those who are searching. Evangelism is a different gift than that of teaching. There will be a wave of young evangelists coming up like this one that will speak to their own generation in the language of that generation to bring the Gospel to them. Whether the older generations will understand it or not does not mean that God does not understand their own hearts.

  117. Michelle Jan 19th 2012

To be clear here, The Way of the Master has done much for the furtherance of the Gospel.

But I see there coming an even different group of evangelists who will need the support of those who know what they are doing. If the seasoned evangelists turn their back on these who are up and coming, then how will they be supported and be a support for their own generation.

  118. Ken Burgess Jan 19th 2012

It’s amazing and amusing how clearly religious mindsets are exposed by this wonderful presentation by a young man who has obviously, “been with JESUS.” In a couple of months I’ll be 67 and can declare without shame that JESUS is more real to me today than HE was in all of the years I was supposed to be serving HIM in the institutional church. The truth is I did not know HIM but I did know about him through the eyes of “blind leaders of the blind.” Since leaving the church many years ago my wife and family have grown in grace and have come to realize that HE is everything and we are nothing. John the Baptist said it best, “HE must increase and I must decrease.” And then they cut off his head.
I pray GOD wil continue exposing and removing the false heads that are ruling in HIS place in HIS body, the ecclesia, the true body of CHRIST.
Its time to put away our church consciousness and become kingdom conscious. Jesus only spoke lof HIS FATHERS kingdom. Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
Matt. 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” Jesus never commanded anyone anywhere at ant time to preach the gospel of the church, which by the way is a mistranslation. The original was and still is ecclesia. We must repent of our sins of religious dogmas and institutional nonsense.
To HIM be all the glory, honor and praise forever and ever. Amen!

  119. I love this and posted it on my FB status a few days ago. I agree with this young man. That is what my church assembly is all about. DOWN with religion…..UP with relationship. Let the Revolution begin.

  120. If you’ve bought into this dangerous piece of Propaganda, please try to be a little more skeptical!

The media and advertising industries are currently way more of a “controlling force” than religion is, at least in the US. Funny how most “religions” refute materialism while the media promotes it…we let the media use our church/religion to promote its agenda…now we want to throw away our church?!

What this video wants to accomplish is to get people to disregard their churches and to have them cast-aside solid, sane doctrines for their own strange interpretations.

One of the biggest points is that spirituality is greater that Christianity. I agree that we should have a personal relationship with Christ, but IT NEVER ONCE SAYS TO OPEN A BIBLE AND READ IT!! The video only says to follow your heart…

They are capitalizing on your emotions and your frustrations with the current state of the church in order to pave the way for the abomination of desolation.

  121. Brothers and sisters, the issue at stake is not arguing whether are not someone should forsake the building. I for one teach often, and rather strongly, that the church is not a place, but a state of being those who are called out of the WORLD system. Gnostics would rejoice over this video, I think. Look at the disciples of the Apostle John and see if they would find it a pure message. Would Polycarp agree? Or was he already corrupted? Would James agree?

I think buildings can bring death, as well as can doctrinal statements, dress codes, and such, however I praise and commend those who actually obey the command to dress modestly, thereby not causing another brother/sister to PERISH whom Christ died for (this is according to the Apostle Paul’s level of obeying the Lord). I commend those who live powerfully holy lives in humility, calling others to become imitators of Jesus.

Yes, it is by the Spirit of the Living God and by His Blood, but it is also by DOING what He has commanded; actually living in accordance with the King’s rules in His Kingdom.

Btw, could we please compare Jesus’ words to those of the producer’s?

“Teaching them to OBEY whatsoever I have commanded you (the disciples)” Mat 28:19-20

I’m with a few others who have already posted, asking where the discernment is. So sad, but the scriptures say MANY will fall away near the end. And I for one don’t think those who fall away say they have fallen away, but will think they haven’t.

Lord, let that not be true of me. Teach me where I might be deceived, and strengthen those things that are from you even in the face of immense intense opposition. I love you, Father. Thank you, Jesus. Amen!

The Lord bless you as you seek to know Him and His Kingdom and His Power.

“He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” John 14:21

  122. Meredith Jan 20th 2012

I thought it was a pretty good message but I have an adversity to the ‘modern’ teachings of Christ that are so off it’s nauseating!
When you said it has possible Rob Bell (eye roll) and Mark Driscoll (*shiver* blech)? If ANYONE follows Rob Bell…they have some serious salvation issues. If anyone follows Mark Driscoll…he as well is very disturbing in his ‘preaching’ and I avoid them like the plague.
Although the video can capture attention and ‘sound’ good…he has foundational roots that I would question and a 3 min video may not tell the whole story of what he believes. May send those innocents down a wrong path.

Why can’t the simple gospel …remain the simple gospel? That’s where the power is…….

  123. Meredith Jan 20th 2012

“when you said it’s possible Rob Bell ….is the foundation of his gospel message?”
that should be inserted in there..sorry..

  124. avoice Jan 20th 2012

1 John 2: 3 By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; 5 but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: 6 the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.

Anyone who reads the Bible will be stuck over and over again with The Lord’s requirement for sound doctirne, that which was seen and heard from the beginning by those who received it directly from God.
Modern church, which is actually the “religion of anti-religion” teaches that God is so desperately in love with us that He just winks and shrugs at our sin, and isn’t too concerned about His own rules.
Why would He have taken time to lay down the rules at all if He didn’t expect us to be conformed to them through His grace and the power of the Holy Spirit??
Or perhaps the real issue is > do you believe the Bible is infallible and God-breathed?

I challenge anyone who doesn’t really “go by the Bible” to tell me how they know the character and nature of this Jesus they claim to know.
From t.v.? From their own personal goosebumps?
There has to be some place of ultimate truth, a measure and guide for us to know right and wrong. Otherwise, we fall victim to every wind of doctrine and the false spirits that try to duplicate the one and true Christ.
This kid’s message might have been timely and appropriate in the 1950’s, when most people who were religious thought God was out to get them and was always angry and full of wrath.
However, this present generation is just the opposite; they truly believe that God loves them so so much that He would never do anything which might be perceived as unpleasant to their flesh.
The world, both in and out of the church, is presently convinced that God is so in love with them that He expects or requires nothing of them.
This video just perpetuates that concept.

  125. Michelle Jan 20th 2012

The real issue he is addressing is dependance on Jesus for the forgiveness of sin, or dependance on works. A to do and not do list for that forgiveness.

He is preaching going to Jesus in repentance of that sin. Read the words carefully.

  126. But, Michelle, is that the issue that Jesus brought us? Yes, when we plug-in to the Vine, we are saved from past sin and dead works. But then, we start laboring as a servant/slave just as Jesus did, even though He was a Son.

    Luke 16:8-13
“So the master commended the unjust steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light.
“And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home.
“He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?
“No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”

See also Matthew 25 also. What is that Jesus is judging them on?

And why does Paul say “we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.”? (2 Cor 5)

And, “the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.’ And… the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints” (Rev 19)

Lastly, in Rev 22: “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work… Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.”

Of course people come to Jesus for forgiveness of sins, even those in the institutional (dead) churches, but that doesn’t mean they’re actually obeying and submitted to the King and His sayings. And if we do not walk in love, if we do not forgive others, our sins are no longer forgiven, according to Jesus.

Our forgiveness depends upon our belief and obedience to the works and ways of God.

He has done that we might also do! Walk as He walked. Sacrifice as He did so that other might have life. This is the message of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God.

Jesus is central, but there is much more.

  127. Btw, an atheist on YouTube responded to this vide with his own comments, essentially using this video to bring reproach against the Church and Christ. To our shame, this atheist is seeing more clearly than many brothers and sisters the problems with this video’s message.

  128. Meredith Jan 20th 2012

I watched again and one thing that stands out to me and what I find through out the church now…division.
Not only do I see division in the church at large but division on the smaller scale. Isn’t this message causing division? Are people who watch it going to analyze themselves and wonder…”what side do I stand on?”
I see the charismatic church completely divided now..against their own! The simple saving gospel message and being of like mind is gone.
So, now if those who don’t follow some of the crazy doctrine out there…you get called religious. And once again…we are divided. So sad.

  129. Andrew Jan 20th 2012

I am amazed at the vehemence of some of the comments here. Makes me a bit sad, actually.

Is it possible some of us have become so focused on “deception under every tree” that we nitpick at every single thing, hunting for the ‘heresy’ in it, instead of looking for the good?

Isn’t that a kind of “witch hunt”?

I felt a few things could have been said differently, but overall I liked the thrust of what the young man said, and I am glad it is causing people to *think* about these issues all over the world.

    Bless you!

    Andrew Strom.

  130. Meredith Jan 20th 2012

I can understand what your saying but I will say from my own experience…I live in an area..where this young man lives..where there is much division of who is living the gospel out and who is not. There is preaching about “a gospel that allows sickness is “another gospel”. There is a big..Kingdom Now..NAR influence that I don’t believe has a scriptural bases. That’s just me. But it’s very hard to be in a place surrounded by all kinds of seeking of angels, gold dust, jewels, signs and wonders….it makes one very cynical.

How do you know what is right anymore? You can’t rely on emotions when there is soooo much that focuses on just that…a high emotional experience. You can “eat the meat and throw out the bones” but then..once gets sucked into false doctrine…and trying to be God.

Where does one find the balance? It’s my hearts cry.

  131. avoice Jan 20th 2012

    Dear Brother Andrew,
    First off, greetings to you!
The Lord Bless you and your family.

Next, as to the question of if we are looking for heresy under every tree, this is a question I struggle with daily.
There is a constant draw from the world to compromise on issues of Christ. Sadly, there is an even stronger draw within the church to compromise, to just get along with everybody.
Recently, I witnessed an outstanding young woman of God shouted down because she feels that reading the book “The Hunger Games” is not the best use of her holy vessel.
This young lady attends my son’s Christian school, and she was harangued by her peers and by adult Christians.
As to the validity of that book, I cannot remark. But as to the nauseating power of Christian peers and role models to dissuade a young person who has set themselves to physical and intellectual purity, I can say it’s disgusting.
Sometimes I think all my skeptisim and mistrust is from the enemy of the church.
We should all just get along, right?
Who are we to judge another man’s servant?
Whenever I am feeling this doubt about my own motives and intentions, I just open the pages of the New Testament.
Not the “bless me scriptures” so popular today, but the real meat and bones of the gospel.
I cannot help but see, over and over, that sound doctrine is utterly important to the Lord.

2 John 1: 7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist. 8 Watch yourselves, that you do not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward.
9 Anyone who [b]goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son.
10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting; 11 for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds.

This is so extremely radical, it even seems rude, and yet it is God’s mandate.

I sincerely struggle with this idea on a daily basis. How much should I refute? How much should I keep quiet about? What should I just trust God to clear up for all of us? Who am I to judge another man’s servant?

But with all due respect, Bro. Strom, you have been one of the forerunners in pointing out bad doctrine and false spirits.

The spirit of antiChrist is everywhere, and it seems to be pretty important to God, if you go by the Word!

  132. Andrew Jan 20th 2012

So are you accusing the young man of doing this?-

“those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh”

That is what the above passage refers to.

Does this apply to the young man? Or not?

  133. Frederick Mundle Jan 20th 2012

    To Jefferson

The religious will fear that you’re born again
And say, “There goes Jesus. He’s doin’ it again.”
He’s found yet another who’s come to believe
Who’s showing us up so that we might take leave.”

The scribes and the Pharisees will all soon be caught
When they stand before Jesus believing He’s not
Though He’s returning and we know not when
Jeff’s shown the sword to be duller than pen

Religions per se do not want to hear it
But believers become indwelled by His Spirit
Born from above, not from below
Persons of action and not those of show

How dare you upset the guys with the lies
Who say, “All are saved when as infants baptized.”
Or, You’re saved but just through my religion.”
Denying the truth that you’ve made a decision

    Theologians pontificate
Choosing works over faith out of the gate
Or faith over works, “That’s the only way!”
To be sure our Lord Jesus will have all the say

God certainly knows all of His own
Not one will see Him but through Jesus alone
The cross, the blood, resurrection and such
For you it’s the truth but for others: too much!

The Christian has Christ residing within
Though righteous do fall, they do rise again
    Salvation’s worked out, overcomers endure
The blood of the Lamb has you covered for sure

  134. Andrew, it also refers to those who do not abide in the teachings of our Lord, not just “he died and suffered” but Jesus warned, “why do you say Lord, Lord and don’t do the things I command you”.

You know very well that the Gnostics taught what this man spoke “not on what I’ve done but Hid obedience alone”. That is a flat out lie. It is against the whole of Jesus’ and the apostles’ teachings.

Now, is he aware of this? Prob not. That is also a reason to mourn. The teacher receives greater condemnation.

  135. Andrew Jan 20th 2012

Perhaps if the young man had ONE HOUR to go through everything that you want him to “cross off” in your search for the ‘perfect’ presentation, then – yes – I would expect him to cover all those points.

But since he was making a 4 MINUTE video on “Religious works vs. Relationship with Jesus” and was doing so only with POETRY – I think he did a pretty good job.

    Nitpick, nitpick, nitpick…

  136. At 1:50 into the video when I heard “boast in my weakness” my ears perked up, then talks about “oceans” of “grace” then “I don’t have to hide my sin.” Listened to the rest for something about “I don’t have to hide my sin anymore as I repented of it and was delivered from it to be a living sacrifice for the Lord” but didn’t hear that.
Yah–folk I know from work who go to “church” and then boast with pride about their weakness of sleeping with different girls from their “Bible studies” would be perfectly good with this grace, grace, and more grace message. Maybe they’ll show this video in their church too.

  137. Andrew Jan 20th 2012

But I didn’t hear him say anything about “license” or “we can do anything our flesh wants” or ‘we can sleep with girls’ or any such thing. Not even a hint.

    Nitpick, nitpick, nitpick.

  138. I love you Andrew even though you seem have plenty of time to be my judge. Glad you know my heart too.

  139. Teshuva Jan 20th 2012

Why is it when some one is able to throw off their old man as clothes on the ground and dance on top of them naked or exposed that people have a problem?
If this man has found God then he will surely not remain in sin but will be given grace for a complete deliverance, because God is in Christ reconciling the world back to Himself.
To find out he is only 4 years old in the Lord and for people to expect him to be perfect is just insane.

  140. Dear Andrew,

Maybe you shouldn’t post things and ask for comments if you REALLY don’t want people to post what they really believe.
Just post a list of your prejudged acceptable comments that we can simply cut and paste.

  141. Andrew Jan 20th 2012

    Great idea, Bob.

But please note that I freely gave room for about 130 comments before I even spoke a word.

    Bless you!

  142. Meredith Jan 20th 2012

    Brother Bob….

Dude…really? Come on man…have some respect.

Seems to me Andrew touched a nerve in you? Instead of lashing out..why not examine your heart and see if God reveals a self righteous attitude…..

We all have them…I know I had to re examine my own words. I have cynical heart…and a self righteous attitude..I want God to change that. I don’t want to live my life…missing life and focusing on what isn’t right and missing what is. UGH! what is happening to us??!!!

  143. Meredith Jan 20th 2012

I appreciate and respect your rebukes and encouragements. Thank you!

  144. I don’t hear people judging him, rather the message. It is one thing to be a babe in Christ or young in the Lord, but it is another to be putting a message out that is contrary to the teachings of Christ.

I think Brother Bob is correct in that “I don’t have to hide my sin” is alarming. In 1 Cor 5 Paul says that the christians in Corinth were not supposed to even eat with those other christians who were in sin (openly sinning, not hiding it, not free from the dominion of sin to serve God in holiness).

Jesus says Go and sin no more. It seems as though some of us are hearing something differently than others.

Bro Andrew, I’m surprised by your comments based upon how tough you’ve been on other leaders/teachers in the past. Does he have to use the word “license” or “flesh” to actually convey the idea?

This is what pops up on his site:

“During Jesus’ time, the Pharisees and the Sadducees (the religious rulers of the two sects of Judaism) were so entrenched in perfectly performing the required rituals and rules that they considered themselves righteous before God. Jesus came to declare that righteousness cannot be obtained by following certain rules

Righteousness is a state of being that can only be obtained by first understanding that God is not impressed by man’s ability to follow a bunch of rules in a particular order WHEN there is not sincerity, faith and love for Him behind them”

But, again, Jesus didn’t rebuke the Pharisees and Sadducees for keeping the obeying His laws. Rather, it was that they were NOT keeping his commandments, and either adding to them and demanding others do what they wouldn’t do themselves. Or making the command of God of no affect.

Lastly, the poem says that God called righteous people in the OT whores. Really? Where. Not so. Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord BECAUSE he was righteous. The others were taken out because of their unrighteousness. Isreal was called a whore because of their irreligious attitude toward the Lord. When they sinned, went after other gods, didn’t trust in Him, blatantly disobeyed, it was THEN that God called them a whore.

He’s correct that we don’t hide our sin in the New Covenant. But the church should not be a hospital. It should be full of healed, whole, resurrected saints who are holy – praise His name! Free from sin!!! This is the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I have nothing against Jefferson. I do mourn for those who taught him this corrupt doctrine.

  145. Teshuva Jan 20th 2012

You write the church should not be a hospital.
So you are saying that you were whole when you entered.
Is not Yeshua the Great Physician?

  146. Meredith Jan 20th 2012

I was wondering the same thing.

  147. Teshuva Jan 20th 2012

If the great Physician is not in their church then maybe they need to check some things out.
However on the lighter side of things, we are tents of meeting and he is within us so all we have to do is go within where He is or should be.
Now Praise God for this ability!! He won’t leave me blind, lame, deaf or dead!!

  148. Teshuva Jan 20th 2012

I have to remember, that God is not mocked and if this man is sowing to the flesh then he will reap corruption there of, but if he is sincerely seeking God, then I have to trust that he will make him whole.

  149. Jeff, I agree with most of what you are saying here, but you were mistaken with one quote you gave.

The poem refers to the religious in the OT being called whores – it does not say the God called the righteous in the OT whores.

However even though difference in wording makes a significant difference – as far as I can recall the actual quote in the poem is STILL false. It is just as false as the opening statement that Jesus came to abolish religion.

In the OT it was disobedient Israel who were likened to prostitutes when they left God and followed the false gods of their neighbours.

  150. Dwayne Desmarais Jan 20th 2012

Men like this are the revolutionaries that Jesus is seeking today, those He can show himself strong in the midsts of mediocre religion. Those hidden under spiritual rocks and in spiritual caves, the nameless faceless ones who will be the champions moving in boldness and power.

There is a fire coming that will glorify or burn and we must decide which side of the flames we will be on. This message is not intended to offend the unsaved, but to shame the wise and confound the strong. Those who claim the cross, but never carry it. God is exposing the pretenders and offending their minds to expose their hearts.

The Church is filled with broken people trying to heal broken people. God is shaking out His temple and letting us know that before we can fix a broken world we must first fix a broken Church. Our Lord is separating the sheeps and the goats, the wheat and the tares. The chief critics of messages such as this will not come from the world, but from those who believe they already have the answers.

The old wineskin has burst, the new wineskin awaits a fresh outpouring of divine revelation which will require absolute holiness and purity, character and integrity, righteousness and justice. Jesus is returning for a warrior bride, not a group of misfits waiting to be rescued. It is time for war! Know your weapons, know your enemy, know who you raise your sword to. Jesus, the Lord of the Hosts…..In Him, you will never be put to shame…..Ruach Elohim!! Great video for the tri-generational revolutionaries…..May the Lord be your cloud by day and your pillar of fire by night…..Always in Hios presence, Dwayne…..><(("<

  151. When a man or woman is born of the Spirit of Christ (who can not sin), does not the man who was once a drunk, drink no longer? Does a wife-beater still beat his wife? Didn’t Christ come to put away sin? I was not mature in the faith, and I was terribly confused when I “entered in”. I remember believing what I was reading and excited by it. Realizing, both the fear of God and the Love of Christ. The fear causing me to depart from sin, and the love causing me to flee into His arms Who purchased me. But then, I began listening to christian radio, with similar themes to this. And I began hearing that we can’t really be free from sin. That we’re sinners. That the pharisees were rebuked for keeping the Law. All that garbage. And I began to believe it. And, yes, then I allowed in sin. Thankfully, I kept asking the Lord to show me Truth, and I am free from all that and realize I can walk in victory daily, minute by minute because of His power.

He keeps teaching me more and more, and maturing me. I yearn to have a brother or sister help me to see sin in my life, if it exists. But I believe we can be pleasing to God everyday, without any known sin in our lives, and free from it for ever (if we’re willing) until He comes again. If we sin, we have an advocate. But John wrote 1 John so we wouldn’t sin.

He either is God in us – power – or not. We are either walking in newness of life or not. Because I was such a wicked man, shaking my fist at God and involved in every evil thing, I have been forgiven of much… and consequently love much. I am so excited to be free from the old me. Praise and glory to Him alone!

    Romans 8:13 (NKJV)
For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

  152. Teshuva Jan 20th 2012

Jeff, so your saying you are sin free and there is no room for improvement anywhere?
Since you have been made whole you have not so much as had an ugly thought toward a brother?

  153. In as much as I am aware of it, I believe we can and should be free from sin. Why is that such a difficult statement in light of the scriptures and being born of God. But that statement does not mean that any of us, me included, may remain sinless. If we sin, we have an advocate. I walk free, but always ready to hear and examine myself. Yes, I have sinned since becoming a Christian, but if I confess my sin He is faithful and just to forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Plus, if I walk in the Light, the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses me from all sin.

Now, to your specific question: I think in the past I have. I think today I do not. I believe I can forgive my enemies, even love them and do good to them. I believe that I can be in a place of not holding anything against anyone. However, that will not keep me from contending for the faith once delivered. Jesus was angry with those who led others into stumbling, as was Paul stern.

We must be tender-hearted toward one-another. We must put away wrath and bitterness. There is no room for it, for only the holy and pure of heart will see God. And it IS POSSIBLE, otherwise we sell God short of His glorious work inside of those who believe and obey.

    Titus 2:11-15 (NKJV)
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.

  154. Oh, and yes… major room for improvement. But that is not sin. That is maturing in the knowledge and and love of God. Getting better at hearing Him and using the gifts He’s gifted us with. Much room for improvement.

  155. Teshuva Jan 20th 2012

He is faithful and true to forgive you, and he is surely faithful and true to forgive this guy for a four minute video that did not contain everything that some thought that it should?
This guy deserves to grow as we have all been allowed to do.

  156. He is merciful and longsuffering. He has been with me. As I said earlier, Jefferson probably isn’t even aware of the incongruity of some of what he wrote, just proclaiming what he was taught. I did the same for a season, and yes, God corrected me. But the correction came with a very sobering warning of the seriousness of teaching His teachings, not man’s view of grace.

I do appreciate his zeal, and pray that as he is instructed he keeps the zeal.

  157. Based on some of the profuse commenters and personal attacks on people posting, it is evident that a few folks are clearly confusing people giving sound feedback on the video (that I had thought Andrew requested) with somehow being a personal attack on the individual in the video who they feel a tremendous necessity to somehow “defend” (even though no one is attacking him).

Brother Jeff–good biblical comments on the video. I know you care about righteousness and people’s souls.

    “Nitpick, nitpick, nitpick”

that’s a pretty ungenerous remark to follow a sincere and respectful post.

In all honesty, when I saw that Andrew Strom, the respected Christian leader and evangelist, has asked for comments on this video, I assumed it was because he recognized the danger and deception in it.

You know what they say about assuming tho.

I know that many, many in the Christian community have accused Bro. Strom of being a “nitpicker” over “little things” like kundalini spirits etc.

I continue to hold Bro. Strom in high esteem, despite the belittling comments.

  159. Dwayne Jan 20th 2012

Well put Teshuva. “Work out your salvation with fear and trembling.” Phil. 2:12 There is such a lack of fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom. Not as a trecherous ruler, but as a righteous and just judge. Many have a flippant view of the Father as a cosmic teddybear.

Every sin we commit, even in our “saved” condition wounds the heart of the Father. Without true intimacy, we will never truly know His heart. He is saddened how easily the world can consume our time and it should be a known fact that what you spend most of your time with becomes your god.

Granted, those called to a higher office will be judged more strictly, but should we not attain to a higher calling? God is always searching for vessels willing to count the cost. They are few and far between. This will change in coming days as He pours out His Spirit on all flesh. Even now there is a burning desire within the hearts of His followers as well as those not even His yet.

It is imperative we understand that in the near future who we align with both in the spirit as well as the physical will determiine if we receive a curse or a blessing. Discernment is key to understanding what is and is not of the Lord. Deep prayer and fasting will unlock the treasures of heaven. What we do not pray for in the spirit, will not manifest in the natural.

What we do not pray against in the spirit, will manifest itself in the physical. Much of the coming wounding can be avoided with corprate prayer and worship and much will ultimately be God reining in His people which many will see as disasters. God searches the darkness and removes what is null and void, so He can lead us back to the cross.

Like getting hit by a rock rather than the boulder it comes from!! If we are rooted in His word and His heart, we will know His plans and not be surprised by unfolding events. He does nothing unless He tell His servants the prophets. All this said, I am not a sinner, but I do sin! I have 42 Scriptures that testify to what a true sinner is. I will post them if need be.

Just one drop of Jesus’s blood carried the whole DNA of the Kingdom, and it is now running through the veins of His true servants. Those who will not deter left nor right but will stand in the gap and minister to the Lord day and night. If you are to be an overcomer, be prepared for a fight! There are to many dancing in the garden, they are stepping on the flowers.

Get up on the wall, sound the shofar, gather the assembly, the battle for the soul of man has begun. Let us take back the seven mountains with those who have been anointed by God and who consider themselves first citizens of the Kingdom of God. The word I have heard most recently is we must uproot and destroy, before we can build and plant. ( Jer. 1 )

Flailing at the branches will no longer do. Fruit grows on the end of a limb, and that is where we must be if we want to bear fruit. Faith is spelled R.I.S.K.

“He who is coming will come and will not delay. But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him.” Heb. 10:37-38…….May the Lord be your cloud by day and your pillar of fire by night…..Always in His presence, Dwayne…..><(("<

  160. Dear avoice,

I too had thought Andrew clearly saw the “greasy grace” danger in this video–based on all of his teachings that I have heard/read.
I too had thought that’s why Andrew posted the video.
But now that I’m on Andrew’s “nitpick, nitpick, nitpick” list I guess I thought wrong.

  161. When the “nits” become a problem they need to be picked.

  162. Brother Dwayne, I agree with much that you wrote. But you wrote “I am not a sinner, but I do sin.” I don’t see any distinction in the scriptures. I do see that sinners were referred to as those who commit sin. And the righteous were referred to as those who did not commit sin.

In Romans 3, Paul resists the accusation that he was/is a sinner. And to the Thessalonians, he says he was blameless and holy before them. Paul even says to the Christians at Corinth, “Awake from unrighteousness and sin not”

Anyway, it seems as though you love the Lord and maybe this is just a semantics issue.

  163. avoice Jan 20th 2012

I am very sincere in my high regard and respect for Brother Andrew. Were it not for his ministry, I would not have been able to lable the problems with kundalini spirits in the prophetic movements.
I don’t disrepect those who disagree with me either. I want to be sure to do what God demands of me, and keeping my nose in the Bible seems to be one of the best ways to make sure I don’t slide into error.
Every single positive thing that can be said about this video, I can agree with. Every negative thing that can be said about this video, I DO agree with.

  164. avoice Jan 20th 2012

    label, not lable
    >>> sorry, spell checkers and dictionaries also keep me from sliding into error

  165. Derek Hale Jan 20th 2012

    Division,division,division.How Christians hate division.

Jesus came to bring division,to set brother against brother, sister against sister. He came to a broken, fallen church that was united in lies.

Of course our Lord brings division It is his mission to.He will bring division again and again to the broken, fallen church,to reveal the true church from within.

He sorts the sheep from the goats, the wheat from the tares as another poster rightly points out.Division will continue,it cannot be stopped,it is necessary. Are we sheep or goats?

A poster thinks division is so sad yet it is unity in lies that is sad.Division is a blessing from God.Jesus is the greatest blessing God has given to man and Jesus brings division.

    Come |Jesus come.

  166. avoice, I also have a lot of respect for Andrew, without his ministry and the forums he had provided I suspect I could have very easily fallen back into the false teachings that I followed many years ago – or maybe even worse things.

I learned to be much more discerning about the things I accept. And in applying that learning to this video I find a lot of the content to be seriously problematic.

  167. I liked it. Are there some error’s possiblly or rather probably. Last i checked we are all still human. Is it catchy and will hold the attention of many? I think so. From there who knows, just one may decide the life they are living needs someone more. I too will be posting it to facebook. Say a prayer the audience there can sometimes be brutal!!

  168. Andrew Jan 20th 2012

The audience here is just as “brutal”, my friend.

Don’t ever post anything ‘creative’ on this site.

  169. Love it. Thanks for sharing. I saw it on YT on sidebars but never clicked on it.

  170. avoice Jan 20th 2012

At least here, some of the posters have some Biblical literacy.
Most of us are not living like the devil and claiming to be Christians because we think Jesus is a cool dude who is really down with all the sin in our lives.
Matter of fact, the world LOVES this video.
It is racing around facebook like Secretariat.

  171. Andrew, in what way does your message match that in the video?

  172. There’s no such thing as “greasy grace” to the truly born-again. We are a new creation born of God from above. We are spirits born of God — incapable of sin. The evil one cannot touch us. God’s seed remains in us and we cannot sin. We are a “holy spirit” born of the Holy Spirit. That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

We have received an entirely perfect salvation — and we have an entirely perfect spirit born of God. Our spirits are ALREADY entirely sanctified. Here in this body of flesh — my perfect spirit born of God battles the flesh, this world, the devil.

As Romans 7 states, the sin we do (who are truly born of God and are spirit not flesh) we do not do. Rather, the sin “we do” is sin itself in our members. It is not “us”. We do not sin. We cannot sin. We are born of God as a holy spirit.

Those who do not understand who we are and where we came from are trying to “work their salvation” thinking they were saved by “human decision” in the first place. But the Word of God states we were saved by grace by God’s election of us and His work in us 100% by His own Sovereign choice and power.

We were predestined in Christ before the foundation of the world.

John 1:13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

1 John 3 9Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Romans 7:17Now then it is no more I that do it .(sin), but sin that dwelleth in me.

    Hebrews 12:23
To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

The term “greasy grace” is used by religious people. That’s not the Bible talking.

  173. Teshuva Jan 20th 2012

well he is coming on a horse!!
As for the division issue, I love division. The division that the video brings forth is the division of religion verses relationship. I can live with that.
Christ prayed for unity of being one in him and the Father.

  174. Sister Laura, I grew up in a denomination with that doctrinal statement, but in the interests of growing and understanding your comment, how is it that our spirit is already wholly sanctified when Paul exhorts the Corinthians to “cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” (2 Corinthians 7:1) and “may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 5:23)?

  175. Andrew Jan 20th 2012

Tim – if all I know how to do is preach “The law, repentance and reproof” without preaching “grace, liberty and no condemnation” – then I do not know the fulness of the gospel at all.

    Bless you!

  176. Andrew,
I could very well reverse your statement above and it would be equally valid.

What is the state of the church today and the gospel it preaches? Does your experience tell you that the church over-emphasises law, repentance and reproof” at the expense of grace?

Or is it more like an overemphasis of “grace, liberty and no-condemnation” with little reference to repentance?

  177. Here is an interesting article. How does this compare with the message in this video?

  178. @Jeff – Because there are demon spirits working through the flesh. Remember in the OT when a demon said, “I will be a lying spirit in the mouths of the prophets…”.

Because, those are the spirits working through our flesh that produce sin, sickness, disease, and death.

The spirit we need to be cleansed of are those spirits of the enemy working through our flesh. Words are spirit.

    1 Kings 22:22
And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so. 23 Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.

1 John 4:1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

    Proverbs 1:23
Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

    Luke 4:36
And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.

    John 6:63
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

  179. The liberty we have is closely linked to repentance. We are free from thr power of sin and death. We are free to serve God rather than Satan. That is true liberty. And it only comes by the power of grace through repentance.

  180. Thanks, Laura. It was my understanding that Micaiah was the only true prophet among all the lying prophets, as indicated by Ahab’s response. The Lord was giving those lying prophets over to their lies. I doesnt sound like they had a clean spirit to begin with.

In regards to those demon spirits, we don’t cleanse them, we cast them out. Anyway, I do appreciate your explanation of how you understand it.

  181. Anthony Donaghey Jan 20th 2012

Shalom folks – Whole lot of debate going on here. I will try and simply stick to what the young fella is saying, or what it is he is failing to say. Some say the poor lad only had four minutes to get across his gospel message, so how could he not fail to mention some things – Sorry a bit of a cop out that one. The gospel is a simple message and one could put it across in half the time and not leave out that which is necessary to attain salvation. The book of Jude, for instance, would take less time to read, he even includes some “nit-picking” along the way – Sorry Andrew, had to point it out Brother. Man was seduced in the garden, Man sinned, sin broke the relationship between Man and God, God promised to send His Only Begotten Son to die and pay the due price that sin demands in order that Man could be reconciled back to God, it is a act of pure grace, Jesus took on the holy wrath of God on our behalf, He who was without sin became sin to bring many brothers and sisters back to the glory that is God and then to prove that this Jesus was the one sent by God to do this, God raised Him up on the third day, according to the scriptures and now all who will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. I believe you could read, rap, sing or even sign language that message in less than a minute and BABOOM! There you have the gospel that Paul proclaimed as being the POWER of GOD onto SALVATION for all who believe – Jew and Greek, (young and old, black and white, male and female, bright and not so bright etc). This idea that those who love the creator hate creativity is also a bit bogus and unfounded. This message from this young man has some truth to it, so does Catholicism, so do the JWs, so do the Mormon church, so does Todd Bentley, so does Kenneth Copeland, so does Joyce Myers, so does Benny Hinn, so does Rodney Howard Brown – do I really need to continue with this endless list??? Peter warned of this very thing, he called it “Parasaxsusan” sorry that is not the proper spelling, but that is how it is pronounced, and it was pointing out that Satan likes, no – loves, to lie truth next to error in order that we all have an unhealthy dose of error placed within our faith. This is exactly what this young man did – He says Jesus calls us sons, not slaves, there is the truth next to the lie, in fact Jesus said that we should be both, we are sons and we are slaves to the gospel. That point alone points out the little bit of leaven that infects the whole lump, and that is all it takes, leaven by nature is self germinating, meaning it continues to grow from itself, which is why an old lump of bread was kept to add to the new lump of bread, the spores regerninate automatically so as there will be enough leaven in the new lump to make another unhealthly loaf and have more left over for the continuing loafs along the way. The Greek Orthodox cult began exactly like this, just a little leaven in among the dough, just a little error in among the truth, just one little painting of Jesus and the Madonna, look at what it is today, satanic to the hilt and leading hundreds of millions to damnation. “nit-pick nit-pick nit-pick”? We are commanded to be “picking” those “nits” If you disagree Brother Andrew then disagree and give your reasons, sound biblical reasons, for doing so, don’t lower yourself to some catchy little put down born of frustration, do so with love and meekness and patience, debate, contend earnestly for THE FAITH once delivered to the saints. To those who are obviously grounded in the truth of scripture who have been able to see this deception from the beginning, well done, you are doing what you have been commanded, good bereans, testing all things, no matter how cool or goose-bumpy, against the Holy Written Word of God. Shalom. Love you all.

  182. @Jeff -On the 1 Thessalonians 5 scripture you quoted… the following scripture states that God is faithful and He will do it.

1 Thessalonians 5: 23And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

Salvation was wrought entirely by God. Sanctification is wrought entirely by God. Jesus, as our Savior, is our Sanctifier. Jesus is everything as a Perfect Savior.

1 Corinthians 1: 29That no flesh should glory in his presence. 30But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

As we see the royal chain of scripture, we see that God has done everything in Jesus in us — and is faithful to sanctify us wholly unto glorification of our bodies in entire sanctification of spirit (already entirely sanctified in salvation), soul, and body:

Romans 8:29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Though it is “counter-intuitive” at times, we do not become more sanctified by trying harder in our own strength. Rather, we are made perfect (gaining in sanctification in true holiness wrought by the Spirit in us) bu simply having faith in Jesus Christ.

Galatians 3:2This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? 4Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain. 5He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 6Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness

Though it is “counter-intuitive”, we must trust Jesus as our Sanctifier even as we trusted Jesus as our Savior to be saved. When we just die to all self-effort and trust Jesus, we will be entirely baptized in the Spirit and entirely… sanctified.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life as pertains not only to salvation in one moment in time — but the process of sanctification which must move to entire sanctification if we trust Him completely knowing “It is finished” as pertains to all things even sanctification.

    We are complete in Christ.

Colossians 2: 9For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

Jeff, though it is “counter-intuitive”, we will not become “more holy” by trying in our own will power and strength to be holy. Rather, as we are sanctified in truth we become holy as a work of the Spirit in us through faith in Jesus. So, again, “counter-intuitive” is my “watch word” for this answer and topic… though it is “counter-intuitive”, dying to self-effort and trusting wholly in Jesus and the grace of God revealed in Him gets us in the flesh “out of the way” so that Jesus arises in us as our Perfect Savior and Perfect Sanctifier, the Author and Finisher of our faith.

Perfect faith in Jesus, and no confidence in the flesh, will produce the move of perfection unto Christian maturity in entire sanctification that is the “rapture” and equals… transfiguration.

Perfect faith in Jesus sees Jesus perfectly as our Perfect Savior and Perfect Sanctifier in a Perfect Redemption by Whom we have perfect righteousness… already… as a perfect spirit born of God in God’s Perfect, All-Sufficient Grace, in Jesus Christ our Lord and God. Our King.

This is a Kingdom. When we understand the Kingdom laws, principles, and dynamics in living power endued from on high — we will arise in entire sanctification.

And isn’t that the goal?? I look to perfection. Nothing short of perfection will attain. No man can be made perfect by his own effort as the scripture of Galatians 3 states. So, since perfection is the goal — even as salvation by grace through faith in Jesus was the means of salvation — so to is it the means of sanctification unto perfection.

    1 Corinthians 1:30
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

    2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Philippians 3: 2Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. 3For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

4Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: 5Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; 6Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. 7But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, 9And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

10That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

  183. Good points at the beginning, but then he begins to compromise and contradict what he says at first.

At first he speaks of “religion” versus “living any way you want.” Then he turns it and speaks of grace and Jesus having already done it all.

Yes, God is full of grace – And I cannot comprehend how gracious He has been to me –

BUT – The main problem with the church is that they are at ease and living like they want to and thinking they’re going to heaven when in reality many of them are HEADING STRAIGHT TO HELL!

WIDE is the gate that leads to destruction and NARROW is the way to life everlasting!

The reason this is not completely scriptural is because he compares “religion” to those who think it’s not “done.” Yes, Jesus said, “It is finished.” But that doesn’t mean that we don’t have to DO anything. So sick of hearing this excuse …

Doesn’t mean we have to EARN our salvation, but it certainly means that we LIVE out our salvation daily with fear and trembling of a holy God who is watching us, whom we know loves us deeply, but whom we also deeply want to please.

“Do we yet sin that grace would abound? God forbid!”

Amen to Brother Bob on repenting of sin and living holy. That’s what’s lacking in this video and in the church in a nutshell.

  184. Anthony Donaghey Jan 20th 2012

Of course the our sin needs to be repented of, to admit it and quit it, that needs to be in the gospel message – there it has been included, still have aprox 3 minutes thirty seconds to be creative with it lol. Shalom

  185. @Jeff – You say you “cast them out”?? But that’s not cleansing?? Saints grow in sanctification not by going to “devil casting out” services… solely. I had a young man who went to many, many charismatic “devil casting out” services.

Then, he met me. And I began to speak to him… the doctrine of God’s Word. He said the Word of God healed him, delivered him, cleansed him and set him free.

He went for 20 years, he told me, to these charismatic meetings. And no one taught him sound doctrine. So, he could not be delivered.

But, when he received ministry of the Word of God, and the Word of God came alive to him — he said the demons who were tormenting his mind… left.

You don’t “cast out devils” at “deliverance meetings” as the “sole means” of being cleansed from unclean spirit. No, you are transformed by the renewing of your mind and you are washed in the water of the Word.

You engraft sound doctrine and you are sanctified in truth — and that’s how you are cleansed of all filthiness of the wrong spirit.

    Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Ephesians 5: 25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

    Psalm 107:20
He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

    John 17:17
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

I must tell you, my friend I made did not have much “nice to say” about the “charismatic deliverance meetings” he went to for 20 years trying to get delivered — when he was delivered in just a few hours of sound teaching of the grace of God in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ — as sound doctrine sanctified him in the Spirit and transformed him as he engrafted the Word.

  186. Laura, thank you for those verses. Most all of the verses you brought are very good, but deal entirely with going back to the Law of Moses or Circumcision (works of the flesh or works of the Law). As with much in the Word, there are two “works” – a) works of the flesh/Law which Paul condemns and which denies the work of Jesus in fulfilling the Law) and b) works in Christ in keeping His Kingdom laws (New Covenant commandments) of which Paul also commands and commends. Maybe we should continue this outside of this medium?

  187. Anthony and Sally, very well put.

  188. Andrew Jan 20th 2012

I guess I just get tired of hearing in our circles almost nothing but “law, repentance, death to self, law, repentance, death to self” when the NT also contains a lot of grace, mercy, forgiveness, and so on.

We cannot bring back “balance” if we are totally ‘unbalanced’ the other way.

    Bless you!

  189. *I still love this tape by this young man — and see no error in it. :)

  190. Maybe you need to travel in different circles, Andrew. :)

  191. Andrew Jan 20th 2012

    You are absolutely right, Laura.

    Maybe I do.
