Amen. I agree with you Jordan.

My only thoughts of Reinhard Bonke are of a man who was willing to stand in the gap, travel to, and reach out to Africa... my homeland.

I stood in the midst of hundreds of thousands of Africans all crying out to God - many, many thousands healed and meeting Jesus...

I was a teenager... It changed me forever. Thank You Father for Reinhard's willingness to go to Africa. Thank You for Kenneth Copeland for believing for the provisions to make it happen! Yes, it was Kenneth Copeland who funded the Cape to Cairo vision... Swallow that!

Be careful beloved.

Be very careful who you judge.

For the Lord our God will provide whom whoever is willing, and will minister through whomever is available.

He Loves the poor.

He is looking for them.

Be not rich in your own minds to despise the workings of God...

Whosoever of your brothers and sisters have settled and are not pursuing the poor - pray for them!

We all need to be totally committed to the Word of God in order to avoid the delusion/deception which has spread like wildfire through the wholesale apostasy masquerading as christianity in our day.

A particularly relevant word for committed Bible believing christians today is

Colossians 2:8
(8) Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

It is ultimately worldly desires which have lead so many astray and a commitment to being faithful to HIS revealed Word is the ONLY way to avoid being caught up in that deception.

I am so glad to hear someone speak of this subject. Many are afraid to. I also have always been greatly bothered by these manipulations and "show" of the anointing. I have always prayed that whenever I speak, Holy Spirit would be allowed to come in His purest form!
On one occasion, I had just finished speaking and people were coming to the altar, weeping. The anointing I felt there, was very precious. I began praying for people. But I only touch 2 fingertips to their foreheads, if I touch them at all. I am NOT getting in Holy Spirit's way!
But the Pastor became exasperated at this and stepped up in front of me and began slamming them w/his hand and pushing them down! I thought, "oh no". But after he stepped down towards others, I quietly knelt beside each one he had "anointed" and began praying for them. One woman came up to me weeping quietly and said I helped her understand the true way Holy Spirit works. God bless you for posting this. I think it will help many. And I agree w/the oil sales, etc. This is no different from fortune tellers.

VAL, you said, "I guess in regard to intercession…sin or false doctrine is not *prayed away* it is to be confronted."

Yes, Light must confront darkness. We are told in Ephesians 5:11-13, "AND have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are dont by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light."

I have emphasized the "AND" at the beginning of the above passage because it is often quoted without taking note of what is said to bring about the "AND." Verses 8 - 10 tell us, "For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord, . . ."

We must shine the Light Christ has given us, which is demonstrated in spiritual "goodness, righteousness, and truth" if we are to walk in the Light.

We find this demonstrated by Christ on numerous occasions (e.g. Matthew 11:20 - 24; 23:1 - 36). We find Peter doing it (Acts 2:14, 36-39; 4:13-21); Stephen doing it (Acts 6:8 - 7:53, esp.vv. 51-53); and the Apostle Paul doing it (Galatians 2:11-21; 1 Corinthians 5:1ff; and others).

You intimated that the problem we encounter today is that people - especially leaders in the churches - don't want to hear confrontation concerning error. There is a tremendous amount of insecurity on the part of some leaders, as well as looking upon any confrontation as a threat to the kingdom THEY are building. After all - they have to protect their image of "perfection" and "being the one who knows what he's talking about."

Often, one who confronts leadership in a church today has the tables turned by the leadership and the confronter finds himself or herself being attacked, ostracized, lied about, or in some other way stomped on.

What we need to remember is that the darkness hates the Light. Jesus tells us why in John 3:18-20: ". . . light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does ot come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God,."

After telling His disciples that they will be hated by those who hate Him, Christ tells them those "haters" will also kick them out of their synagogues (churches) and even kill them thinking they are serving God (John 15:18 - 16:4).

I sense there are some reading this now who have been persecuted because they have taken a stand for Righteousness and the Truth. I want to encourage you that the darkness also hated Christ, so you are in good company. Take heart, for the Lord is training you and strengthening your spiritual backbone. Do not be afraid of those who can kill the body, but rather fear Him who can destroy both body and soul in hell. Do not fear them for you are of much value to your Father in heaven (Matthew 10:27-31). He will give you strength to confront the enemy and war in His might and power as you battle the spiritual forces behind those who oppose the Truth (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Let this also be a lesson to us: How do your spiritual elders, pastors, or teachers respond when you confront them when you see they are in error or contrary to God's Word? Are they humble and willing to listen and seek the Truth - or are they defensive, giving an air of superiority, or lashing out at you? Their response should tell you whether they are walking in the Light of Christ or not.

God bless you all,
Wayne

The reason we put on such "shows" as J. Lee Grady and others have described is that we have no genuine power. Such shows are like Moses keeping the veil after the glow of God's Presence had departed. If we were genuine carriers of "The Inextinguishable Blaze" of God's power and presence we wouldn't need or want these theatrics. I explain this in detail in our new book "The Inextinguishable Blaze: God's Call to Holiness, Repentance, Intimacy and Spiritual Awakening" now available on Amazon at: http://www.amazon.com/The-Inextinguishable-Blaze-ebook/dp/B006THV4GW/ref=ntt_at_ep_dpt_1
