PRAYER MOVEMENTS BUILDING in AMERICA

-extracts from AG News.

A rising tide of concern is sweeping through the body of Christ as America drifts farther and farther away from its moral and biblical moorings. In response, prayer initiatives are budding in an attempt to call people across denominational and parachurch ministry lines to seek God’s intervention…

“There is a very real sense that we are facing an unprecedented
moral and spiritual decline in our nation,” says John Maempa,
director of the Office of Prayer and Spiritual Care. “Desperation is
building among many within the church to call upon God in these
very challenging days. Conditions today are bringing the Church
together as never before. We are battling a common enemy, Satan;
addressing a common problem, sin; and presenting a common
solution, salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

OneCry, a prayer initiative launched under the auspices of Life
Action Ministries early this year, is mobilizing thousands of people
across the United States to pray daily for a spiritual awakening
that will revitalize the Church and transform the culture. Drafting
a “declaration of national spiritual emergency,” OneCry proclaims,
“true revival is the only hope to reverse our spiritual recession and
enable us once again to display the beauty of Jesus Christ and
His gospel throughout the world.”

For the past four years, Cry Out America, under the Awakening
America Alliance, has urged believers to gather at county court-
houses to pray for God’s intervention in America. Again this year,
a call to pray is being issued for Sept. 11, 2012. Additionally, on
Sept. 29, many people will gather in Philadelphia for the America
for Jesus solemn assembly, an event that will be simulcast to
churches across the nation.

Dan Biser, a pastor shepherding two Southern Baptist churches
in West Virginia, has long sensed a deep need to call together
any who will come to “Broken Before the Throne” prayer gatherings.
A call to churches across denominational lines has again been
issued for July 14-20, 2012…

“We are to do what they did in the book of Acts, what they did in
every occurrence of persecution, what they did in times of such
evil– they prayed!” says Biser. “They came together for they knew
that there was no power left in their means and methods; there
was no power in their organization; there was no power in their
education; there was only the power of God.”

  1. This is some of the best news I’ve heard in YEARS! We need to get on our faces before Almighty God and repent. The church has much to repent of. I’m so encouraged to hear some positive news for a change regarding the church! Maybe we are waking up finally. We can’t do it. Our programs can’t do it. Only God can change our nation. We have no power at all in ourselves. Thank you Lord for Your mercy. Prayer IS the answer.

This is a confirmation an encouragement to me of what the Lord has spoken to me. I don’t speak lightly about “spoken to me” as that came literally in a real way. G-d must be bringing many to a reality of His will to bring us back from the spiritual deadness and false spirits that has invaded the Church. We are and have commited ourselves to prayer here for revival starting about two years ago. Shalom

Yes, there is moral decay and yes, there is a great need for prayer. But when the Baptists and other denominations think they have a corner on God calling people to ‘repent’ and bow before the Throne, they are oblivious as to the reason for the moral decay:

Since when did God ever sanction denominations, a perfect place for demons to hide? God is showing that demons have been running the House of the Lord for many years since Diotrephes opposed John The Apostle.

The prayer meetings that had begun more than 20 years ago AGAINST THE DENOMINATIONS have been like little lights, flickering and seen from heaven. We know that the darkness cannot overcome the Light.

When pastors of every denominations humble themselves, then revival can begin.

When pastors stop appointing ‘elders’ to do their bidding, taking up collections for the bricks, mortar, steeples and pulpits, while IGNORING THE PLIGHT of the fatherless and their mothers, (in many cases shunning us because their chosen activities cost money which we cannot afford, thus proving they are nothing more than country clubs and social organisations), then revival can begin.

Pastors and their denominations are the reason why God has ‘left the building’ and God is exposing their sins.Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin brings everyone down the tubes.

God says to every pastor and every denomination: Judgment BEGINS at the House of the Lord.

    REPENT pastors!

I have experienced a small but real real revival 38 years ago. I can testify from that experience that when real revival comes it sweeps aside mans organized religion. Revival is not dependent upon how we organize our church but it demands a change and makes available the changes needed to those who are willing. I believe prayer is our need and expectation for it’s coming.Shalom

I would be interested to know what is being prayed for. If it is a change in the nation ie better economy (God’s intervention in the nation etc), the people have missed it! If it is for a closer walk with HIM individually and for others etc – that could mean greater hardship and suffering etc so that people turn to HIM and rely upon HIM rather than the economy and themselves.
    Shalom!

  7. Michelle Jun 20th 2012

It sounds very ecumenical to me. I agree with the comment made by Tricia. I believe in collective prayer, fasting, and repentance but not in some kind of “call to churches across denominational lines”…I believe the false prophet will come from the Christian faith. How else would it be that even the very elect might be deceived? The Southern Baptists have fallen a long way – I was raised SB and I can tell you that the church I grew up in no longer preaches a repentance message. Judgment does begin in the house of the Lord!

  8. Willem Jun 20th 2012

I only like the last paragraph, on the subject of denominations- you know since ministries have begun to air on Television there have become so much denominations in the world. It’s like – well where I live I hear pastors can’t stand one another in different churches. There are like 7 just on the highway out of town, let alone those in town. Way too many churches, whereas there is only one Saviour.. I don’t go to church, because it’s fake, it’s about money.. When I do go to church it’s 2hour drive away from here. The biggest denominational movement I think started in the USA, and was carried over through television. This is what I think.

  9. sharon Jun 20th 2012

Pray pray pray church. Pray in the spirit, and pray with your understanding. Agree with the word, simple and sincere.
Praying in the spirit helps us to get past the things that would hinder because of past hurts and hard feelings about denominations.
Dear Heavenly Father knit us together as a body of believers.
We would be one as you and your son are. Open our eyes to the hurting lost around us.

  10. If Rick Warren is leading, you can rest assure he is leading right into the One World Religion of the One World Order.

Jesus is looking for a bride (spiritual Israel) and the only revival that is going to take place is the revival of His true apostolic church – those who walk in truth and not religion. There can never be a revival of the Christian church because it’s not the true church. Is it prevailing today? No – so therefore cannot be the true church. It’s the one that Rick Warren is leading into the One World Order. The gates of hell will not and cannot prevail against Jesus’ church because His church stands on only truth.

  11. Thank the Lord I am connected with a ministries of home groups that actually live the Bible. Our leaders are those who undergird the Body and live it in front of us. The Pyramid system in the Building will not be revived…it needs to DIE. Most (probably all) denominations DONT EVEN BELIEVE IN THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT! We want revival…start living the Word and be in relationship with true believers…….be a light in the midst of the darkness around us…..live the gospel in front of the world….love the body of believers the Lord has placed you in (if you arent getting truth and love where you are….move on and ask the Lord to show you where…it did it for me) …it starts with me….it starts with you….it starts with us Loving Him, Loving His Word and Loving Each Other…….Anything less..we need to repent. Praying for the Body to be the Body as He has commanded us. MJ

  12. You who are the Faithful and True Witnesses of God–rejoice, “Fallen, fallen, the American Dream!” It has been coming since 1975, now over 60 million abortions and counting. Should we now return to the Lord with a full heart–waking up from our spending stupor — we now seeing ourselves correctly!– drowning in our own filthy debt!

Did Esau receive succor when he cried unto the Lord? The Backslidden Church falls down with the Economy! For the Lord has spoken, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.” Isaiah 55:8

Once such a Proud Churched People–now facing Shameful Ruin. Once we said, “Everything is beautiful every Sunday Church Service, surely God is in this place.” The Lord is shaking those things that will be shaken…for we have played the Harlot with the World…and defiled our consciences. Should not God make evident the LIES that have lead us to this Moral/Economic Ruin? Far too long, we have been a DEAD church! Put away our wicked hearts’ desires for ‘things’– and let us return to the Lord in contrition with mourning and weeping!

Why are we a stiff-necked people–not seeking ‘rehabilitation’–wanting to continue in our habitual ‘rites and ceremonies’ to that Canaanite god Baal! We were tempted to Covet by that deceiver prosperity gospel Baal in the 80’s. Now we ought to be praying for God to set us free from those lies that have produced covetousness in our hearts–now seeing we have affection for the ways of the Harlot, whose ways only produce Moral Decay and lead us to Ruin. For the Love of Money, we have sold our Birthright–and our Freedoms! We are now Slaves to Unrighteous Mammon….no longer serving God!

  13. I notice that if it’s not our way of order and thinking, it can’t happen. How tragic in our questioning dilemma.about God’s power over man (the world’s impudence). Man’s suspicions will always come back to bite him. With all of man’s perfect thinking, Trust in God has taken a nose dive.

  14. Prayer for this nation is a necessity.

    The situation is desperate.

Fasting, mourning and repentance must be a part of the agenda.

God through His Prophets has called America “Sodom & Gomorrah”.

  15. Martin Jun 20th 2012

Susan, you’ve got it in one!

  16. As long as it comes from the church system it with fail. We don’t need to pray, we need to change. Prayer itself has become a religious exercise if it is not connected with an intention to know the truth and be changed by it. As long as the church refuses to repent of the sin of Jeroboam people can pray 24/7 forever and it will make ZERO difference. The world will be affected when WE change. how can we preach the truth when we reject the truth?

  17. I agree with Patricia and Michelle. Revival never starts by some organized effort to pray. I took note in the article that there was even a name given to this organized effort–OneCry. Why is it that we must attach a name to our efforts?

I believe in the power of prayer. But prayer that is birthed in any effort of the flesh will produce only wood hay and stubble. Only that which is birthed by the Holy Spirit, that comes into agreement with the heart of God and what the Spirit is calling forth will produce the the revival that God is calling forth in this day.

I am attaching a link to a youtube segment on the revival that took place at Asbury College in 1970. This was the fruit of the prayer burden of a young woman who came into agreement with God’s heart.

  19. In spite of all the flaws, deceptions and dysfunctionalities that men have created (denominations, false prophets & apostles, heresy, etc.), God still loves His genuine Church, the Bride of His Son, and He intends good things for her. As I have written in my book The Inextinguishable Blaze, “Whenever the Church has fallen into disrepair, disrepute, and dysfunctionality, God has intervened with a fresh outpouring of the fire of His Spirit to renew His Church, to redeem the lost and to grow His Kingdom. To deny this reality is to deny the facts of God’s gracious dealings with His people throughout history.” I believe God wants to bring His people into a place of holiness & the fear of God, genuine repentance and renewed intimacy with Himself. If this happens, we will see an awakening and a harvest that will take our breaths away. And personal prayer and fasting (as well as corporate prayer and fasting) are a good, biblical starting point which have preceded every historic revival of the past 300 years. Maurice,
you melt my heart! You wrote,
“repentance and renewed intimacy with Himself. If this happens, we will see an awakening and a harvest that will take our breaths away.”
    Me,
Our breaths need to be taken away for this to come about.
The Lord was just sharing with me yesterday about a new language and it being a language of Holy Breath.
The fire breathing dragon is about to be extinguished.
The hot white fervent love of God is about to consume the strange fire.

  21. Amen Michelle,Ken Arrand, and the rest who see this for what it is.The organized church is dying and is struggling to stay alive. They want a return to prosperity not a return to Holiness. It is just more of man devising gimmicks to rally people around them.
What we see happening in the world today economically, militarily, socially is The God of all creation allowing the god of this world to bring in the one world order. In the process God’s true people will praying more and more for the latter rain and not for their wallets to be filled but their spirits to be filled with the Spirit of Jesus our Rock our fortress our ark our savior through it all.
    God Bless

  22. How odd that just this morning I was asking God how I should pray for Israel, our nation, and the world…and now the topic is regarding same.

As Egypt turns towards the draon, and Syria does the same in headline news, and all nations (not just America) also turn towards man’s ways (working and paying for their salvation instead of relying on the ACT of Christ), I found myself in tears, feeling the anxiety that those in Israel (at the front of this earthly stage) must be feeling now….trying to put myself in their shoes. How can I pray, avoiding details that may not be in God’s Plan…because I know His Ways are not mans?

After some quiet time, letting my mind drift in Him….I decided to keep it simple….and decided to pray for the protection of those who He knows are His people, and to allow those who will be His people all over the world, to SEE before it is too late, and to use me and His people in any way He sees fit that will help His Plan. Help us to know Your Will and be available for Your use in these latter times.

As all governments are made up of individual people, I see it as a good thing that individuals of all labels gather together to pray towards God for His Will to be done. My best guess is that these groups gathering to pray, and all those individuals who have been praying for some time, as I have….are praying that this nation once again start looking towards God first for their solutions, and that those in our governing bodies start applying God’s standards within their own life and within the works that they do for the nation…keeping God foremost on their minds and their hands.

Because an effort to pray is organized….should it be foresaken?

The Strings of God attached to those who have accepted His Son follow them….no matter where they are…or who they gather with. He hears their prayers. We should not foresake any who gather under God’s name to pray, nor mock or judge them for doing so. Nor are we capable of stating that the Holy Spirit is not behind the movement.

Yes, all need to change….even the most holy of believers….constantly being conformed to Christ….but we were given the power of prayer through the Holy Spirit, and we are to use the Gift that Christ died in the flesh to give us…. and that power can supercharge the change….depending on the desire within the heart of the one praying.

Charles Fapaul; As to our “understandings” of Bible scripture, and Sodam and Gommorrah, there are also prophets who spoke words from God that could also be interpreted towards America being the Wilderness where He keeps the people who brought forth Christ in the flesh, safe during the 1,260 days of latter times of the trumpet and the Wrath period…but I won’t go off topic to give them to you.

Let us not ever forget that prior to the World Wars, America looked towards God as no other country has….and after exposure to Europe and the World by our troops, they brought home the morality and values that they saw there because it seemed good and fun. Our movie industry is a direct result of our love affair with Europe and the free morality…free love…worship of self…. that existed there, the worship of self over God. America magnified what they were exposed to….just as did Eve, consorting with the dragon….liking what she saw which magnified self will, freedom to be what ever you want to be. Our constitution was set up to protect Christianity from the government…..not to keep Christianity out of the government. After the wars and the events I stated above, the self seeking who did not want to feel guilty… perverted the freedom that we stood for under God…and they have worked continously to take God out of our schools, and governing, and judicial bodies. We pay the price because our population became ignorant of these things, and became polluted with pleasure of self….AS HAS THE ENTIRE WORLD….those individuals within all nations that are not struggling to exist……..are using their monies for the pursuit of pleasure of self expression.

Even so…America still spends more of her wealth to help in disasters than any other country. All nations are guilty….will the charity of the nations help them in the end time of judgement?

Don’t forget….the death that comes…..comes to the world…and it is shortened so that all nations do not parish. What about ALL is not understood by those that covet and point fingers????

A real strong guess as to what is being prayed about is the prayer that was given by God to His first love, the Jews. (That “first love”, also being a bone of contention and jealousy throughout the world.)

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” The Bible, II Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)

  23. Correction to my post above.

I stated: “Let us not ever forget that prior to the World Wars, America looked towards God as no other country has….and after exposure to…… ”

I should have said….as no other country has since Israel was first founded by God. Israel was the first country that was led forth and established by God….not by Kings, and not by a governing body of men. They also fell away. Had they not….the entire world would now be under one God…God would have continued to bless them and grow them unto the KING that He planned for them and for us all. Don’t ever forget….that is the goal…it is not about one nation over another…or man’s self rule. It is about God’s Rule over the entire World….and all creation. However He accomplishes that is fine with me.

  24. Well said Maurice. All you judges of the church need to repent first if you’re not perfect. God wrote about you all …..the plank in your own eye!!!!
Prayer changes us, the person praying. If I can change without God then I don’t need Him. God loves His Church, get off it’s back & learn to love it also. If you have to say something about it then say it to God. God said we must pray, so lets stop judging everyone & start praying & God will change it. If you don’t believe God can change it then pray for yourself & read the Word to increase your faith, then you will stop judging & believe God to change you, & the church to what HE wants it to be, not what you think it should be like.Prayer brings revival. No prayer = no revival if history is anything to go by, starting in the upper room 2000yrs ago till now.
Be Blessed & enjoy God in your prayers.

Shame to see so many on here mocking and decrying Prayer. I often find the attitudes on here sad. And no – this has nothing to do with “Rick Warren”!!!

The fact is- organized prayer has led to many large-scale moves of God down the centuries. In fact, I would say the majority of genuine Revivals have started this way.

To me, it is a wonderful sign to see a real DESPERATION in prayer beginning to return to the USA.

    Long may it continue!

    Blessings,

    Andrew Strom.

  28. Charles Faupel Jun 21st 2012

We are not decrying or mocking prayer, Andrew. But many of us have had the experience, and indeed have been a part of organized prayer efforts that have all the appearance of being birthed from the heart of God only to turn out to be another form of denominational or para-church promotional effort. Prayer is key, but all the prayer in the world amounts to nothing but wood hay and stubble if it is not done in response to a burden from the very heart of God and in agreement with Him as the Holy Spirit moves it. I have seen this, and when God moves hearts to prayer, I have yet to see him first form an organization with a name as a banner under which to pray.

  29. Ibelieve Jun 21st 2012

After reading the article then reading the comments, I went back and reread the article.

I have to agree with Brother Andrew. Why are we attacking blood bought saints in the Lord? Nothing was mentioned in the article about the economy.

We should be praying that God will pour out His Spirit on our brothers in Christ.

Didn’t Jonah get mad when the people cried out to the Lord and repented? He wanted judgement to fall and God gave revival!

    In Him,
    Gary

  30. oneseekingGod Jun 21st 2012

In our prayer we must also begin to repent! So many are seeking God with no change at all in their lives. Desparation must be accompanied by the rejection of Sin period.

  31. Shelley Jun 21st 2012

Hmmmm interesting enough several weeks ago my husband had a dream, and in my husband and I and many other believers were gathered in a tent meeting for PRAYER! It was largly a prayer time of repentance, seeking God’s face, drawing near. The main speaker was David Wilkerson, whom we know was a man of prayer, now with the Lord. David spoke on the “Spirit of Intercession.” He said that no one could just interceede according to their own desire, but that we had to ask the Lord for the Spirit of Intercession to fall upon us, to anoint us to do the work, that could only be done through the Holy Spirit. He made it clear that the main things that are hindering the church today could only be broken through that Spirit of intercession. My husband remembers several of us crying out for the Spirit of Intercession, and the Spirit fell upon some of us and we began to weep and weep, he remembers kneeling down and there was large slabs of stone that we were kneeling on and they became wet by our tears. At several times during the prayers my husband remembers being so overcome with worship to Jesus that he would rise up into the air, fly out of the tent, twirling and rejoicing before the Lord above the meeting place and then would come back down and enter into the tent and return to Intercession. He recalls specific things that needed to be broken, pride, division, lack of love, and I’m sure the list goes on and on. This is how I can best remember what he told me. Oh and that it was necessary for believers to come together to pray, unity is very important.

  32. Andrew Jun 21st 2012

As soon as you call people together to pray at a certain time – then you have “organized” something. Whether you call it a ‘Solemn Assembly’ or whatever you call it – it is a “gathering together” unto prayer and therefore it is “organized” in some way.

There are people here who need to repent of their attitudes before they find themselves literally fighting against God and anything He ever wants to do.

“Cynicism” is not ‘discernment’. It is just ‘cynicism’.

    Bless you all.

    Andrew Strom.

Ian, I have found nothing in this life which gives me more profound, or more enduring sadness than the spiritual decline of the Church of England; my Church for years and the church of my family for generations. Not the death of loved ones, divorce from another loved one nor the spiritual condition of England, the country of my birth, causes so much long lasting grief.

Let us not think it is an easy thing to depart the church of one’s birth, the church of one’s spiritual new birth and one’s early nurturing. It most certainly is not a light thing to do. The Church of England is the Reformation Church, delivered to us in the blood of martyrs. The Church of England carried the Gospel Torch to the world for a hundred years. It was the back bone, and back stop, for reform and education; our institutions of monarchy and government were held in check by the Ten Commandments delivered from Church of England pulpits.

Yet there came a point where it was necessary to ask: am I in this church, this institution, because I love it, or because I love the Lord Jesus more?

Ian, please do not assume, because some of us have departed traditional church institutions, we no longer pray for them, and the people who pass to the next generation that same institution. It would be a grave error.

Be aware of another man made initiative called the Global Day of Prayer. See link http://gdoplondon.com/
They proclaimed last year (2011) and the previous year God was going to do mighty things for the nation of the United Kingdom.
    Notice the links of
Gerald Coates who is well known for promoting restorationism
Alpha which from the 1990s was introduced everywhere by Nicky Gumbel and Sanday Millar from the Holy Trinity Church, Brompton. It was Nicky Gumbel who was involved in the UK for imparting and influencing the Toronto Blessing onto the church scene. The Alpha course was adpated for the RC Church
Christian Concern which is now ecumenical taking on board the RC Church.
Noel Robinson who is associated with Morris Cerullo http://www.mcwe.com/images/print_media/38.pdf
and influenced by the WoF Movement
Jonathan Oloyede one of the leaders of the charismatic Black African Churches of London see this link who he is associated with

RT Kendall is another TB proponent and associated with Gerald Coates.
Bishop John Francis of Ruach Ministries and it was he who invited Benny Hinn to London last year.
The Global Day of Prayer may look good on paper. It’s organisation and associations are suspect

    TO EVERYONE-

    Fear… Suspicion… “Guilt by Association”…. More Fear….

    More Suspicion… Research… More Research…

    More “Guilt by Association”…

Don’t “join” anything – even if it is Prayer!!!!

    Fear… Suspicion…. Cynicism….

Always looking for reasons to reject….

SOME PEOPLE NEED TO REPENT or FOREVER MISS ANYTHING GOD WILL EVER DO.

THERE IS SOMETHING “WRONG” WITH YOU IF SUSPICION AND CYNICISM DRIVE SO MUCH OF WHO YOU ARE.

  36. Graham P Jun 21st 2012

PS…please look at who is associated with whom on this link
    http://www.christiantoday.co.uk/article/mission.to.london.continues.to.spark.passion.in.believers/7004.htm
What is missing is repentance of the christain church, nations, and of themselves for what they are involved with.
This is lacking in organised man made initiatives. For nothing spectacular happened in the UK in 2010 and 2011 despite their efforts. In fact, things have got worse spiritually and physically for our nation. For no one can be God Almighty’s business manager or His PA!

  37. Brother John Jun 21st 2012

Why are you Andrew shouting at Graham.
There is nothing wrong in what he has shared.
Beware of God’s judgement which is evident on the UK and in the European Union.
By the way Andrew, the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints have been invited to join the American Awakening Alliance. And why? Due to Mitt Romney, the Republican Candidate for the American presidency, and he of course is a Mormon and wants some kind of change for the USA. The question is – what?

  38. Martin Jun 21st 2012

I’m delighted something is moving somewhere; delighted a people is turning to the Lord in repentance and prayer.

My assent to Susan’s post should have been qualified as that’s how I see the UK. On the previous thread, Andrew, you said in reply to me, Some Western churches had watched their precious heritage go down the drain.

Yes, I truly believe that is the state of the UK, which is probably why we haven’t yet realised the seriousness of our plight. I do know of a few who, in recent years, have sought the Lord for the spirit of intercession, as I have very recently, but we are all fairly isolated. It is not a general movement discernible in the churches.

It wouldn’t be difficult to see the UK as in a far worse state than the USA; we, however, are blinded for the most part, and just carry on.

  39. Andrew Jun 21st 2012

I was not “shouting” at Graham.

My words were directed at ALL who prefer “suspicion and cynicism” – thus avoiding any involvement with ANYTHING – including simply PRAYING with other believers. There will always be a reason “NOT” to do something. If you want to live in permanent “suspicion and cynicism” then, believe me, you can find something wrong anywhere if you search hard enough.

But this is simple PRAYER. Very necessary and heartfelt PRAYER. And I for one rejoice that it is even happening. And I don’t care if it is “perfect”. I just want more of it. Can we not even get positive about simply PRAYING??

    -Andrew.

  40. Charles Faupel Jun 21st 2012

We ARE praying Andrew. And we know that we are joined in the Spirit by thousands of others who have been moved by the heart of God to pray. We will continue to pray. There is an army of people whom God has called out to pray, to intercede, to travail. These are the prayers that are getting through to heaven.

  41. Andrew Jun 21st 2012

There is great power in “UNITY and PRAYER” together.

“They lifted up their voice with one accord”, etc, etc. (Acts).

I know individuals are praying. But united corporate prayer is more needed now than ever before.

And if “suspicion and cynicism” are the only things holding back people from joining in, then I find that very sad.

    Bless you!

    Andrew

  42. One thing I have noticed how many our bound up in getting our own way, slaves of bitterness, afraid of failure. Yet the very acceptance of failure opens us up to trust God to work in me what is lacking. Every one has or had a plan of some sort how to win the lost how to run a church etc. If we would be willing to surrender this things to the Lord and put aside our plans ( or what we think are the Lord’s plans) and trust Him things would change. The greatest mistake I made as a Sunday school teacher was to cause others to be dependent on what I know rather the teaching them to trust Christ and be independent of me. We have spoon fed the church and not withdraw so they could grow up. It is this trusting God in all things that nee4ds to be re-understood and practiced. For we have turned everything upside down putting faith first instead of God, ministry first instead of the mastery of Christ and because and have become bitter. we have done this we suffer and have become bitter. What God wants is not prayers to fix things but prayer to honor Him and wait for Him to tell us what to do

  43. Andrew Jun 21st 2012

I think I will phone America and tell them all to stop praying.

They are not “perfect” enough in their approach.

And thus they do not have our “approval”.

  44. Charles Faupel Jun 21st 2012

But don’t you see, Andrew–we ARE united when we are led of the Spirit to pray. And this is the only unity that counts! So called unity that comes out of the many organized efforts is not unity at all if it is not birthed by the Holy Spirit. On the other hand, individual efforts that are birthed by the Spirit ARE in unity with one another because we know that when God is moving one to pray He is moving others also.

  45. I am truly rejoicing in my heart Andrew as I read what you are sharing…

I went back to a prayer group which I used to attend regularly a number of years ago for the first time on last Friday night…

I was blessed, they shared my heart…

    It was powerful…

Praise You Jesus, Thank You Lord, Thank You Father…

The Lord wanted me to humble myself and be prepared to get behind something which was already happening…

I’m glad I went, I will keep going if He leads me…

    Bless you brother,

Cover us all with Your Blood Jesus and let us abandon ourselves to prayer…

    Thank You Lord,

    Bless you brother…

    We have power in prayer…

    Unified prayer…

    Heartfelt, unified prayer…

The Lord knows our hearts and we only have to utter our hearts and He Hears us…

Praise You Jesus, let us join together and pray…

Hallelujah, this is what You have been waiting for, a turning towards You in prayer so that You can show Mercy, Hallelujah Lord…

A turning towards You so You can show Mercy…

Turn our hearts towards You Lord and let the prayer – the Spirit of Intercession as one of our sisters mentions above – fall on us so that we pray…

And do not cease praying until You come and rain down righteousness upon us…

Sow with a view to righteousness, Reap in accordance with kindness; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD Until He comes to rain righteousness on you. (Hosea 10:12 NASB)

    Until…

    Love in the Lord,

    Andrew

CHARLES – The church in Acts was not built on “individualism”.

It was built on “corporate” unity in prayer and action.

If it is not “corporate” then it is not truly the “church” at all.

    Bless you!

Andrew J Horton – beautifully said, my friend.

So glad you have found like-minded believers to pray with.

    Bless you!

  48. Charles Faupel Jun 21st 2012

I can see that true dialog is not taking place here. I have shared my heart on this matter, and to write further would not be building up the kingdom. I thank the Lord for your heart for prayer, Andrew, and for your heart for repentence. God will honor this, and I pray His richest blessings on you.

  49. I have a bad feeling in my tummy from some of the aspersion cast upon those gathering to pray for God’s intervention in our affairs.

Not one of us can say that God is not within any organized prayer effort….where two or three true Christians gather He is there. How would you have the individual Christian get together and let others know of the gathering in this day and age?

Is that wrong for them to do that?

Is it wrong for them to make a gathering to witness to others to do the same?

Should it not start some where….everywhere?

One poster said; “I have yet to see him (refering to God) first form an organization with a name as a banner under which to pray.”

Are you saying that God had nothing to do with the Body of Christ which is organized under the banner of Jesus Christ? Of course you realize that God has organized us all under His Son, Jesus Christ.

We have all had bad experiences….tests from the dragon to keep us from God’s Will. But we should never let those experiences prejudice us and keep us from supporting those who are trying to get a movement of prayer going towards God…..especially since God made it very clear that our prayers do make a difference.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” The Bible, II Chronicles

In the above scripture what is listed first? 1-humble ourselves, 2-pray 3-Seek His Will/”face” (how many of you study a person’s face to see what is really going on in their mind…I do.), and lastly “turn from their wicked ways”/repent/change. Why is that listed last? Because the first three things stated lead to repentance and change. The power of a sincere prayer enables our change. Seen it many times. We should not put the “change” before the “prayer” part. Sinners are allowed to pray before they are able to change. They are allowed to ask for God’s help. God often answers the sincere prayer of a sinner to get him linked up on the right path.

I cannot see into their hearts….and if their prayer is a Godly one, He will support the effort in ways we may see, and in hidden ways that you and I might not see. Remember the angels who talked to Abraham regarding Sodom’s destruction….the number of righteous within Sodom did count for something….and had there been enough God would have spared the city. Turning to God in prayer could be a numbers gain that could affect the flexible things within God’s Plan. We should never discourage a prayer to God concerning repentence…and intervention. There have been many a fallen man with athiest patterns who did not believe in Christ, who said a prayer as their life was draining away. Would you because of that man’s reputation discourage that prayer?

I know this for a fact…..If I join my sincere prayer to a group of prayers, praying from my heart for God’s involvement in this world, and if others of sincerity are offering their prayers within that group…..it does not matter a fig as to the reputation of that group which organized the thing. God is above and beyond the limitations of humans. His reputation is not stained by ours.

  50. GOD’S REPUTATION IS NOT STAINED BY OURS!

  51. Man’s extremity is God’s opportunity
Let our Lord have His say …..
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
Then let us give it our best shot! We have nothing to lose except sin, misery, and the downward slide!!

    Pr Michael

  52. Ephesians 3: (14-21)

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,(SURE SOUNDS LIKE A BANNER TO ME!) that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height…to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen

  53. Andrew has not your response proved my point?

  54. Claudia, Romans 2 16 – 29

“…. because of you (self righteous Christ rejecting men of Pauls day ?) the name of God is blasphemed amongst the gentiles……”

Unfortunately i constantly meet folk who are all too aware of crime and sin committed todays folk they understand to be “christian” These poor folk (amongst them ex church goers) blame, blaspheme and reject God because of it! I believe it is our/my fault if i/we do not uphold the true Gospel to such.

Isaiah 65 is a great chapter for the future that awaits us! If we are willing and “obedient” (read believe)
    Pr Michael

  55. Simon “….but prayer to honor Him and wait for Him to tell us what to do”

With respect, I believe He has indeed “told us what to do” And we are on the whole not! Therefore our planet, our whole social system from top to bottom is in a horrid mess! Just as He warned us in Isaiah 24

    Pr Michael

  56. Simon, I don’t sense any bitterness in Andrew….nor do I sense a person that seeks his own way, but only seeks God’s Way for all, that none be lost. He cares. A bitter person stops trying and shuts down…a bitter person no longer cares. God wants a man to keep planning and trying as best he can. God understands that our plans are not as good as His…but if we are going in the same direction…God works it out. He sorts through our plans. He wants us to take the initiative….just as that parable that Christ taught about the Master who went away and gave His servants coins.

If we don’t take the step….make the plan….God cannot correct it, and make it grow. We are not to just sit by without plans. We are God’s hands upon this earth….or maybe fingers….maybe the little finger….not to give too much credit to us. God gave us a mind so that we could make plans, after understanding His blueprint as best we could.

I could not grow my garden if I did not make a plan…even tho God has created every seed, and that which the seed needs. I still have to prepare the soil, plant those seeds in an orderly manner with common sense, and I have to nourish those seeds and protect them from those darn little rabbits. I have to watch them grow, tend to the ones that need help. I cannot just sit back and expect God to plant the garden at my doorstep and do all the work.

I would love the protection of a body of Believers, a garden tended….a place of like minded people in love with God and not themselves and the world. I know there are gatherings like that where the growing garden is taken care of by a wise farmer in charge…..much better than if it is left unattended. I cry for that type of gathering. But, I also know that none of those who left the genetically modified, artificially fertilized, gardens growing under electrical growing lamps…will be abandoned by God. He will gather us together with others….because we have not left the BODY OF CHRIST. We will be grown by the Holy Spirit, in the mean time, and we will have fruit that others can eat. As I have posted before….if for some reason I cannot grow the garden for my edible foods….my Wise Lord has not neglected those things that some would call weeds…such as the Lambs Quarter….that grows so densly, unattended except for what God has created within it and provided by His Light and Waterings. That weed is more nutritious than the seeds I am growing now. Those weeds will be a great help when people need food around here. I see many Christians who are like those Lamb Quarters….they will be there…little noticed now…. when and if there is no garden in the future.

You are right, yes….if you mean by the “mastery of Christ” that God wants us to know Him so we can be like Him, emmulate that which we love above all else. We are to step forward and trust that He will guide our steps and that ALL will end well, according to His Great Plan. We are to learn about what He expects of us, how we are to conduct our affairs….and we are to learn the scriptures and what they mean by making sure our understanding fits all the scripture we have been given. A church should be organized around that also….people in the church should be free to discuss scripture…knowing that the others also are doing their diligent duty of studying the Bible. That is the duty of a teacher….to see that his students study the Bible and learn the commandments and God’s Will as revealed in the Bible….scripture upon scripture. The pastor should not be the only one that understands….the entire body should grow to understanding.

Yes…God wants our prayers that honor and worship Him. But He also wants our prayers for His assistance. He wants us to approach Him, asking Him how to do things, asking Him for knowledge, understanding, and guidance… asking Him for healings. I am constantly throughout the day thanking Him for showing me how to do things….for answering my questions. We are to be in prayer constantly. When I see the littlest of flowers peeping through, I thank Him for allowing me to see it and appreciate how He has put everything together.

  57. Amen Gloria

    As too
“….I would love the protection of a body of Believers, a garden tended….a place of like minded people in love with God and not themselves and the world. I know there are gatherings like that where the growing garden is taken care of by a wise farmer in charge…..much better than if it is left unattended. I cry for that type of gathering. ”
you pen a perfect description of the real church, the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven
Are you saying you do not have/experience that?

    Pr Michael

  58. I experience that one every second of my life…every beat of my heart through Jesus Christ….the one where all members are connected by the Holy Spirit….who when the Spirit speaks….it goes out to all the members within His Body. I have experienced being One with Christ and One mind with Christ….as He said we all would. Within Him all my needs have always been met….and I am within this Church constantly. Not sure that is the one you were refering to tho.

I was talking about the one that meets in the flesh here upon the earth….who have a common goal of looking beyond their own needs to the needs of others…so I could team up and work together with them. I would welcome that one….but not dependent upon it…..or needing it so much that I would compromise and settle for something less…and I don’t want to cause division. Those within my area of reach (location…and even they are quite a drive from my home) have seemed a bit filled with man and the traditions of man. I am not near any huge population, so there are not many near me.

I guess what i am really yearning for, if I give it alot of thought, is that Day that God’s Kingdom is upon the earth, and ALL are in fellowship and conformed to Christ…that Day when the Bride of Christ comes down to the New Earth at the end of the Mellenium.

  61. I would ask those who are making their comments known on this web site the question – where are the watchmen in the Christian Church? There appears far and few between.
It is my opinion that watchmen who are reporting are being ignored and dismissed as unsignificant for the 21st century and are not needed as there are prophets who have been given approval.
However, this christian journalist has written recently about “watch and pray” and the role of a watchman in the Body of Christ.

The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, speak to your people and say to them, If I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from among them, and make him their watchman, and if he sees the sword coming upon the land and blows the trumpet and warns the people, then if anyone who hears the sound of the trumpet does not take warning, and the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet and did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But if he had taken warning, he would have saved his life. … Ezekiel 33 verses 1 to 9

The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. Proverbs 18 verse 10

Watchmen simply report what they see and hear. Watchmen report the approach of an enemy or the approach of the king. They are under command of the king. Their primary function is to report what they see and hear. Their post is often in a watchtower, an elevated structure speciallyfortified for that purpose. The position is one of a defense.

There is no place in the Bible that indicates a watchman went out and attacked an army. They simply reported what they saw and heard and obeyed the commands of those in authority. The king or commanding officer might send out an army to attack, but the watchman did not give such an order.

The prophet Ezekiel in Ezekiel 3 was referred to as a watchman and in Jeremiah the prophet in Jeremiah 1 verse 10 was to root out, pull down, destroy and throw down, build and plant. Hence, it is possible for those with a prophetic gifting functioning as watchmen to at some point function as the prophet did in Jeremiah.

The watchmen in Old Testament times were usually soldiers and often carried weapons. It was permissible to use these in extreme cases such as self defense.

There was often a captain of the guard or watch whom the watchmenreported to and who prepared reports for the leaders. An example here can be seen in Nehemiah 7 verse 2 where Hanani was leader of the citadel or captain of the guard.

The watchman fills the role of a servant. They are to serve the leadership of the Body of Christ or a city by being assigned a post, for example by watching over a group of people or a ministry.

Watchmen are to watch, pray and report all that they see and hear. It must be emphasised that a watchman will not always understand all that he hears or sees which is reasonable but their job is just to report what they see and hear. It is Almighty God who determines how long a watchman has to stand watch.

While the functions of intercessors stand in the gap and repair the breaches occurring in the Body of Christ, watchman stand their watch in prayer and report all that they see and hear.

The role of a watchman is not limited to speaking only about the sins and problems of the society. The watchman was also charged with proclaiming good news about salvation.

Watchmen also have insight into the world at the end of this age. They see the dark gathering clouds on the world’s horizon that spell the end of Satan’s reign as the god of this world and author of all its evil. Under the instructions of Almighty God, this leads them to mount the walls of society and shout a warning to any who will hear.

True watchmen are declaring that Almighty God is sovereign. He will bring a time of judgement on the world to prove that He alone is God Almighty. All other (false) gods erected by people to hide His truth will be destroyed. This includes the false teachers and prophets who are wolves masquerading as sheep in the modern western christian church.

If there is any credence to the sudden coming of the Lord on an unknown day at an unknown hour, then what is happening upon the nations of the world would seem to support that. The Lord continously warned us to watch and pray and to be sober and alert, not drunk and sleeping, as did Paul in the book of 1 Thessalonians 5. But who are taking heed to the watchmen who are giving warning to this of effect? Very few! For is the christian church building walls of religion or towers of prayer?

True prophets are not always the most popular in the western church of today because they are bold enough to release a word of the Lord that deals with sin or that warns the christian church of potentially unpleasant circumstances coming down the see of destruction. In order to properly carry their mantles, genuine prophets must build towers of prayer.

False prophets build walls of religion that lead people astray with fabricated edification, misleading exhortation and counterfeit comfort. These evil prophets are deceiving many christians saying, ‘All is peaceful!’ when there is no peace at all! It is as if the people have built a flimsy wall, and these prophets are trying to hold it together by covering it with whitewash! Tell these whitewashers that their wall will soon fall down as declared in Ezekiel 13 verse 10.

One cannot whitewash sin. One cannot whitewash religion. And you most certainly cannot whitewash false prophecy. Brethren must guard their hearts in order to maintain a pure prophetic flow and a life of prayer that will wash away the plans of the enemy instead of fortifying his deception by watering down the truth for the sake of acceptance.

True prophets may not win any popularity contests in the christian church, but they will sacrifice to make intercession. Instead of building walls of religion, they build towers of prayer; watchtowers in the spirit that allow them to see the assignments coming against the Body of Christ. They take that revelation and use it as spiritual mortar to make up a hedge in prayer.

Watchmen who have been given this role should keep their spiritual binoculars around their neck and watch. But not just watch – watch and pray always. Anyone carrying a prophetic mantle needs to closely examine the fruit of their ministry. If believers have prophesied peace unto popularity, then they need to repent. For believers need to trade in their whitewash for some substantive mortar and start building towers of prayer that will bring genuine edification, authentic exhortation and legitimate comfort to His people.

Let every follower of the Lord Jesus Christ build their house on solid rock and prophesy the mind of Christ, so that when the hurricanes of religion come against the Body of Christ and Jezebel hurls her spiritual sleet at the sanctuary, and when the winds of witchcraft blow against the walls, the foundation of the Body of Christ will be fortified to stand and withstand in the day of battle against those within and outside of the christian church who are trying to destroy christianity.

The Lord Jesus Christ emphasizes that every believer is to have the attitude of a watchman. As His people, every believer is all called to be watchmen, if not in service in these End Times, according to the teachings of our Saviour. For failing to do so, they are just serving themselves which the false prosperity teaching is revealing.

Though we may not understand Christ’s ways, He is the only constant of which we are assured. May we keep our eyes Him and on what truly matters. For we do not have tomorrow as He has given us today. Let’s make it count while as believers we can.

I would encourage brethren to watch and pray and serve the Lord Jesus, the bridegroom who is coming soon for His bride. May this song be a blessing to the Body of Christ http://www.ultimatetube.com/videos/8267/watch-and-pray

    Maranatha!

John, as ever reporting and awaiting instructions to leave the watchtower.

    Thank you.

  63. Judging from Awakening America’s partners:

This is nothing but more apostasy!

They want America to repent? These aberrant groups need to repent of their heresies first! Take the beam out of their own eye first!

  64. @ Charles F. I agree with you. Maybe I just read the comments in a different way and was not offended…etc. if you me or anyone is LIVING the LIFE and are connected with others LIVING the LIFE…then prayer is a MAJOR part……Prayer with two who are in agreement is more powerful than 1000 not….Everyone wants to make a BIG DEAL out of every aspect of Christianity…Let’s just live it …Lets BE the church before we try DOing the church. Lie it each day and be obedient to what He tell each one of us and if we do, then He will draw us together, He will give us the connections needed to accomplish His will.

  65. Correction ..that was LIVE it each day NOT lie…oops

Correction: Also below is THE DAILY JOT. Please read. WHY do you think God would save America ? Look at the White House, the president and much of the congress. These are FACTS, not just some bodies “wishing for revival or wanting America to pray” Please, people, look only unto the Lord, HE and HE ALONE IS YOUR ANSWER and if He leads you , then do what He says, but don’t “follow the leader” if you are not sure.!!!!

Brannon’s guest is Dr. John MacArthur. Question: Do you often find that people will criticize you and characterize you without ever having heard you preach a sermon or having read one of your books?

Question: Why do you believe Rick Warren’s seeker sensitive church model is unbiblical?

Question: When Brian McLaren was asked who started the Emergent Church, he credited Leadership Network. The Leadership Network is largely known for pushing the seeker sensitive church model yet McLaren credits them for helping found the Emergent Church. Would you agree that what appears to be the goal is to take a traditional New Testament church and transition it into a seeker sensitive church and then to completely transform the church into the mysticism and Gnosticism of the Emergent Church?

Question: On October 23, 2011, I was really encouraged when in your sermon on the Holy Spirit you exposed the heresy of Cindy Jacobs, Mike Bickle, Lou Engle and C. Peter Wagner. Can you give us some further insight as to why you believe the NAR is a threat to the gospel, and the true church? Are you shocked that so many nationally known pro-family and evangelical leaders are willing to unite in one spiritual enterprise after another with the likes of Bickle, Engle, Wagner and Jacobs such as the American Family Association, Family Research Council and even Dr. James Dobson who recently interviewed Lou Engle?

Question: Evangelical and pro-family leaders are now promoting “Two Weeks for Freedom: Catholics and Evangelicals Together for Freedom.” You were very outspoken against the 1994 document, Evangelicals and Catholics Together. Would agree that the “culture war” is being used to build unbiblical and ecumenical alliances to “win” the “culture war”?

Question: I believe that Satan has very cleverly used President Obama and his promotion of tyranny to scare “self-professing” Christians right into the arms of New Age Mormon Glenn Beck and the Church of Rome and ecumenicalism. Would you agree that Satan is using the Hegelian Dialectic Process to build a false church?

Question: What are your thoughts on the increasing number of reformed teachers such as Tim Keller that recently praised Richard Foster and the writings of Catholic Mystics such as Ignatius of Loyola, and St. Theresa of Ávila? Then then there is Mark Driscoll with his claim that he has visions and can see what has occurred in the past in someone’s life. Additionally, why do you think there is such little outrage by Christian leaders over the embracing of mysticism by popular Christian authors and pastors?

Question: Did you ever believe you would see the state of the modern “church” sink to the level that it has? In other words, did you think the Lord would rapture the church before it got this bad or did you expect this in your lifetime? If the Lord does not return in the next 5 to 10 years, what will the modern “church” further accept and promote?

Question: As of today, how many downloads have there been of your sermons since you ministry began offering them on the internet for free?

Question: In a sermon in 2010 at the Shepherds Conference you recommended Ian Murray’s book, Evangelicalism Divided. I was impressed with Mr. Murray’s research and courage to explain how Billy Graham helped to divide evangelicalism starting back in 1954 when he chose to sponsor his New York crusade with Modernists. You have also spoken from your pulpit several times on Dr. Graham’s decisions and their impact on evangelicalism. Can you explain to our audience why you feel it is Biblically necessary to publically talk about the decisions of public men like Billy Graham and how should Christians handle the criticism of those who claim it is not loving?

Question: The May 2012, cover story of Christianity Today is about Heidi Baker. The subtitle of the article reads, “There are credible reports that Heidi Baker heals the deaf and raises the dead.” The article declares that “…she claims, scores have risen from the dead, food has been multiplied, the crippled and blind have been restored…” TBN, Daystar and so much of evangelicalism is increasingly into signs and wonders. Would you agree that the lines are increasingly being erased between the signs and wonders crowd and modern-day evangelicalism?

Question: What would be your final words of action and encouragement for our radio audience as they desire to contend for the faith?

When the law doesn’t uphold the law

There is a contentious battle taking place between the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and the White House over whether the Administration should give up information that could implicate it in the Justice Department’s gun running scheme that resulted in the murder of a Federal Agent. The man who occupies the Oval Office has invoked Executive Privilege to keep from the Committee what Chairman Darrell Issa says is “information the committee needs to complete its work.” The Oversight Committee voted to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress for stonewalling its investigation where the Administration knowingly supplied Mexican drug dealers with weapons.

The New York Times reports, “The president’s move to invoke executive privilege was the first time that he had asserted his secrecy powers in response to a Congressional inquiry. It elevated a fight over whether Mr. Holder must turn over additional documents about the gun case into a constitutional struggle over the separation of powers.” The Times goes on to report that Holder has “been associated with some of the administration’s most liberal policies, including refusing to defend a law barring federal recognition of same sex marriages, challenging an Arizona law cracking down on illegal immigrants and invoking civil rights laws to block Republican-led efforts to impose voter photo ID laws.”

The contempt charges and the use of Executive Privilege underscore a greater problem than just being caught red handed breaking the law by allowing the illegal sale of weapons to drug cartels. The problem is that this Administration, through its Justice Department, refuses to enforce the law duly passed by Congress. There are many more instances that the New York Times did not mention in its story, such as the White House refusal to allow off shore drilling and the refusal to enforce border security and prosecute illegal aliens. The greater problem is that this Administration chooses to enforce some laws and not others, and if the American people do not challenge this, it will set precedent and be allowed to stand.

The Founding Fathers rejected Democracy for a Constitutional Republic because a Constitutional Republic is the rule of law as established by a representative system. Democracy, in its true form, is the rule of the majority without regard for the law. Democracy is a step away from dictatorship in that might often makes right. We know from the Bible that refusing to follow YHVH’s law results in deep trouble. Yeshua said in Matthew 24:12, “And because lawlessness shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” The lawlessness he spoke of is sin, not obeying YHVH’s law. When we as Christians have the choice and we elect sinful men to represent us, the result is lawlessness. This Administration is an excellent example.

  68. Thank you Andrew for this latest articile you posted. And thank you for your inner understanding of corporate Prayer. It took these comments on your board (after reading only a few) to see how much conflict the body of Christ really has. If I were a non-Christain reading these ‘opinions’ of His Saints, I don’t think I’d be saveable….

Such confusion and judging of what is and what is not acceptable prayer to God…what I’ve known for so long and use it often on myself. ‘You may be technically right, Joan, but is God convinced?’ I wouldn’t want to go there. I hesitate to make this remark but it needs to be said: Until you find true love for Christ’s Word, and what He’s saying to us, we have a long, long way to go. You don’t have to defend Him in any way, but Love. He keeps telling us, with His two commandments, we are free… (from cynicism and criticism) indeed.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. (Ephesians 6:13-15)

If you love the Lord bear witness to the truth. You must do it personally; you must do it collectively.

Never join any church whose creed you do not entirely and unfeignedly believe, for if you do, you act a lie and are moreover a partaker in the error of other men’s testimonies.

I would not for a moment say anything to retard Christian unity, but there is something before unity, and that is “truth in the inward parts” and honesty before God.

I dare not be a member of a church whose teaching I knew to be false in vital points. I would sooner go to heaven alone than belie my conscience for the sake of company.

Are you willing to walk with the truth through the mire and through the slough? Have you the courage to profess unfashionable truth? Are you willing to believe the truth against which science, falsely so-called, has vented her spleen?

Are you willing to accept the truth although it is said that only the poor and uneducated will receive it? Are you willing to accept the truth although it is said that only the poor and uneducated will receive it?

Are you willing to be the disciple of the Galilean, whose apostles were fisherman? Verily, verily, I say unto you, in that day in which the truth in the person of Christ shall come forth in all its glory, it shall go ill with those who were ashamed to own it and its Master.1

  70. Every true Christian knows that prayer either personal or corporate is profitable . But there seems to be an issue on the motive of the corporate prayer in my view according to what what I read in some posts, sorry if I am wrong. I think some things are complicated , and beyond mans judgment. The issue here is heart issue, the inward part . It is like ,Why are they doing it ? Is it for God glory ? is it for holiness ? We may have such questions within us. The heart of man is deep as saith the scripture that “who can know it” There was a time I used to think I knew all that concerns my being , I mean my “goodness, or “evil nature. I can never had been convince otherwise until the spirit started unveiling those hidden things within , and helped me see the personal knowledge of my being is only a very very small percentage of my natural being. I know very little of myself but I taught I knew all about myself. Recently a co- worker made a statement , an unbeliever “ only God know my heart “ actually he was saying only God knew how good and pure he is. As I listened after knowing him and some of his practical life , I saw the scripture fulfilled “every man is pure in his own eyes” the man was very sincere , I will have commented but it was not the time to speak, I belief. If I know very little of myself , how much will I know of others that I know and worst those I may not have never know .A corporate prayers is a corporation of different hearts outwardly they may seem to go unite to one aim but that may not be necessarily in heart. Different wishes, ambition are likely to be in the heart realm. Prayer in itself is not sinful , God does not condemn anyone, any city because they pray , he may judge nations because of wickedness but not prayer. In fact when even two with a pure heart in that corporate prayer , pray anything positive can happen. So since the act of prayer is not sinful itself, then it is better in my view the heart to be left with He that only can search it. The only one who knows it and rewards.
“I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.”(jeremiah 17v10)

Nicole, that’s excellent. Do you have a reference for that piece from Spurgeon, please?

MJBR: Yes, you understand my heart here.

    Martin,

It is Charles Spurgeon’s Book , at the Masters Feet.

If you put that into the computer it comes up Amazon and the picture of his book and a free look at the devotional.

The original “article” is on Ken Silva’s website, Apprising Ministries. He shares the truth of what is going on in the churches all over. Some pretty ugly stuff, and things we should be aware of. He is contactable and does write back.

  74. Martin Jun 22nd 2012

Nicole, smashing, thankyou. I’m taking a look now.

Spurgeon is one Christian whose work I haven’t yet ventured into much. Guess I will now.

  75. The Lord God is not waiting for more prayer and then He will “fix” America. He is waiting for people to repent and believe in Jesus as Lord and then obey Him. Prayer to most people is just a way to try to get God to do what they want. When they get together to do whatever Jesus wants them to do , then they are following The Christ.

  76. I believe in praying ‘God’s Will on earth as in Heaven’, and that Lord Jesus will lead individuals (through the Holy Spirit) to pray when we ask Him how we should pray.

…so “Corporate prayer” isn’t a term that I fully understand, However, I found this which I share with you all :-)

    In His love, Roger

    ************************************
Question: “Is corporate prayer important? Is corporate prayer more powerful than an individual praying alone?”

Answer: Corporate prayer is an important part of the life of the church, along with worship, sound doctrine, communion, and fellowship. The early church met regularly to learn the doctrine of the apostles, break bread, and pray together (Acts 2:42). When we pray together with other believers, the effects can be very positive. Corporate prayer edifies and unifies us as we share our common faith. The same Holy Spirit who dwells within each believer causes our hearts to rejoice as we hear praises to our Lord and Savior, knitting us together in a unique bond of fellowship found nowhere else in life.

To those who may be alone and struggling with life’s burdens, hearing others lift them up to the throne of grace can be a great encouragement. It also builds in us love and concern for others as we intercede for them. At the same time, corporate prayer will only be a reflection of the hearts of the individuals who participate. We are to come to God in humility (James 4:10), truth (Psalm 145:18), obedience (1 John 3:21-22), with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6) and confidence (Hebrews 4:16). Sadly, corporate prayer can also become a platform for those whose words are directed not to God, but to their hearers. Jesus warned against such behavior in Matthew 6:5-8 where he exhorts us not to be showy, long-winded, or hypocritical in our prayers, but to pray secretly in our own rooms in order to avoid the temptation of using prayer hypocritically.

There is nothing in Scripture to suggest that corporate prayers are “more powerful” than individual prayers in the sense of moving the hand of God. Far too many Christians equate prayer with “getting things from God,” and group prayer becomes mainly an occasion to recite a list of our wants. Biblical prayers, however, are multi-faceted, encompassing the whole of the desire to enter into conscious and intimate communion with our holy, perfect, and righteous God. That such a God would bend an ear to His creatures causes praise and adoration to pour forth in abundance (Psalm 27:4; 63:1-8), produces heartfelt repentance and confession (Psalm 51, Luke 18:9-14), generates an outpouring of gratitude and thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6; Colossians 1:12), and creates sincere intercessory pleas on behalf of others (2 Thessalonians 1:11; 2:16).

Prayer, then, is cooperating with God to bring about His plan, not trying to bend Him to our will. As we abandon our own desires in submission to the One who knows our circumstances far better than we ever could and who “knows what you need before you ask” (Matthew 6:8), our prayers reach their highest level. Prayers offered in submission to the Divine will, therefore, are always answered positively, whether offered by one person or a thousand.

The idea that corporate prayers are more likely to move the hand of God comes largely from a misinterpretation of Matthew 18:19-20, “Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” These verses come from a larger passage which addresses the procedures to be followed in the case of church discipline of a sinning member. To interpret them as promising believers a blank check for anything they might agree to ask God for, no matter how sinful or foolish, not only does not fit the context of church discipline, but it denies the rest of Scripture, especially the sovereignty of God.

In addition, to believe that when “two or three are gathered” to pray, some kind of magical power boost is automatically applied to our prayers is not biblically supportable. Of course Jesus is present when two or three pray, but He is equally present when one believer prays alone, even if that person is separated from others by thousands of miles. Corporate prayer is important because it creates unity (John 17:22-23), and is a key aspect of believers’ encouraging one another (1 Thessalonians 5:11) and spurring one another on to love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24).

Some people may wonder why I get upset at what I perceive to be “anti-united-prayer” and “anti-Body” type comments on here.

You know, these websites were founded to encourage Revival and a real return to NT Christianity. It greatly upsets me when I see person after person coming on here literally denigrating the very things that are the most needed on earth right now.

These attitudes often make me want to close the entire site down – and it is something I have considered many times.

    Bless you all.

    Andrew Strom.

  78. Nicole Jun 22nd 2012

    Andrew,

I really need to comment , on your comment.

Though the website that you have created is for prophetic words and or revival — The HEAD IS TRULY JESUS CHRIST.

No one wants to follow wrong doctrine or somebodies article that could be tainted w/ things not of the Lord.

    I mean truly do they???

So, if some one posts an article that could contain tainted and misinformation or cause someone to fall into sin, or deception

Isn’t it FAR BETTER, to show those that could be swaying towards an article, a word, a prophetic word, a word of knowledge that they might want to “follow or believe”

isn’t it far better to show the complete truth, NOT denying the facts that Prayer is good, things we should pray about should be focused on, or that the word might have some value or truth to it, but that EACH AND EVERY PERSON should weigh it, pray about it, search it, talk about it and come to true UNITY w/ the Lord NOT necessarily w/ others, though that would be good, but what is awesome is when the UNITY is completely focused on the Lord, HIS WORDS and HIS showing us the things that are of HIM.

This is not “about us” it is not about someones website , what they have, what they don’t have, what it is about is helping people focus on the Lord, loose themselves, humble themselves and come unto the Lord Jesus Christ.

This life is all about HIM , not us.

Yes, I can see why some get discouraged. But truly the discouragement is from the nonsense that is going on in the churches, in the church streams, on the websites and in some groups. NOT all places but just turn to some of these websites and you can have your pick on what all is going on that IS NOT OF THE LORD

And then you and others talk about REVIVAL. God is looking for those that will humble themselves and that will follow HIM , not those that just yearn for something and hope for something.

Our focus is always on LORD , WHAT IS IT THAT YOU WANT OF ME, WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO? DO I need to wait upon you, Lord, SHOW ME YOUR WILL LORD.

And if a person’s heart is right, the Lord will eventually show the person, but it will Always be in HIS TIMING.

Your post is more of a threat to close the website. If that is what the Lord wants you to do, Then so be it. But don’t do it because people want to speak the truth or what they believe is the truth from other websites that report the truth.

    Blessings to you,

  79. Andrew , if you are sure this is what The Lord wants you to do then keep doing it. If you are not sure, then you can’t do it in the faith that you need, to keep going when things are difficult. Don’t listen to what the people want, listen to The Lord.

  80. I received an email from ‘Revival List’ this morning, which contained the following three quotes:

“The nature of Christ’s salvation is woefully misrepresented by the
present-day evangelist. He announces a Savior from Hell rather
than a Savior from sin. And that is why so many are fatally deceived,
for there are multitudes who wish to escape the Lake of fire who
have no desire to be delivered from their carnality and worldliness.”
    – A.W. Pink

“Prayer is not so much an act as it is an attitude-an attitude of
dependency, dependency upon God.” – A.W. Pink

“Before He furnishes the abundant supply, we must first be made
conscious of our emptiness. before he gives strength, we must be
made to feel our weakness. Slow, painfully slow, are we to learn
this lesson; and slower still to own our nothingness and take the
place of helplessness before the Mighty One.” – A.W. Pink

    *******

Andrew – I don’t know whether your comment referred to my previous one..?

If so, then please be reassured that I am not ‘anti-Body of Christ Jesus’, and I am not ‘anti-prayer’ by individuals or as a group.

My focus is the Lordship of Christ Jesus in the lives of all His followers, that they be led by the Holy Spirit in all their activities, including ‘works’ and ‘prayer’.

I copied the above 3 quotes, because they are so very relevant today – thankyou for collating and sending them to those on your list.

    In His love,
    Roger

  81. Andrew Jun 22nd 2012

I have sent lots of quotes on Prayer, lots of quotes on true Christianity, lots of quotes on Revival and a return to Bible ways. I am still left wondering how much of this has any impact.

The “Comments” section on here often discourages me more than anything else, because it often trumpets the exact opposite of the things closest to my heart.

And Nicole – we have had this conversation before many times. If an article praising God for the rise of many different Prayer groups across America is somehow “heresy” then I’ll eat my hat.

When all you do is mostly focus on “heresy hunting” then you have already fallen into the ditch on the other side.

    Bless you all.

    Andrew Strom.

  82. Martin Jun 22nd 2012

Andrew, I fully understand, it’s no easy thing to run a forum. I’ve a new one coming on stream in a few weeks – local government British style. This one’s guaranteed to be dull!

JBTV is the best open space on the Christian net, and I know of a few.

Of course your opinions don’t always chime in with some of us; would you not be worried if this was a body of sycophants?

The body is so diverse in it’s experience of God, and yet it is the same Body and the same God; the Body is made up of hands and feet and … all joined together by ligaments. Can the hand claim supremacy over the foot? How are we hear without the ear? Or see without the eye? We’re all different, and yet all the same, in one Spirit.

Several times, Andrew, your posted insights have shaken me into better things, a different perspective; I thank God for that.

Isn’t this a learning place, in cyber space? A meeting place you were moved of God to gift to the Body? Isn’t this a place in which you too have been surprised? Compelled to your knees – I missed that, Lord, I’m sorry for being so short sighted. How did I miss that? Thank you for showing me.

If you’re being moved to pastures new, please consider offering custody of JBTV to another, along with the costs. If that’s the way forward, one is already out there, preparing and being prepared of the Lord.

Seek the Lord and bide in His time. The prayers of my household are with you.

  83. Nicole Jun 22nd 2012

    Andrew,

Praising God is one thing. And I AM ALL FOR THAT, HIS GLORY and ALL HE IS.

It is when those that have “an ulterior motive ” and they receive monies for their speaking and wares” and offerings to help them stay in the best hotels in the area and then they declare prayer and spiritual warfare on the demons that are around them and the sidewalks where they walk and then they toot all that they are doing, That to me is the heresy. Not what I am bringing forth.

This war is not on me, nor the words I bring forth, It is the truth that those might want to hear about. If they don’t want to hear, so be it. I am not arguing w/ anyone, I am simply showing people that these people that you have posted this article about, are PART OF DOMINIONISM, that is led by C. Jacobs, C. Peter Wagnor, Dutch Sheets, Chuck Pierce, Shirley Dobson and so many political people here in the states.

There is MIXTURE. MIXTURE IS NEVER OF THE LORD. The focus has to be completely and totally on HIM.

Are there some that are going to these meetings and joining hands w/ others that really and truly want the Lord?

I believe in my heart there are. And I believe that the Lord, HIMSELF, HIS HOLY SPIRIT will hear the cries of the humble heart.

I am not anti prayer nor anti groups in prayer. This is not an attack on you, nor is it about you. This is about truth.

It is not heresy hunting unless you choose to look at it in that realm.

    Bless you,

  84. Nicole Jun 22nd 2012

    Andrew,

If there is any lies that I have quoted to this website then I humbly will come and ask for forgiveness.

These articles and websites that are calling out the truth, I will personally contact and show them what I have written here on your website and any findings that you have come up with. And I will ask for forgiveness.and I will ask them to retract what you have proven false. Until then, I don’t believe “heresy hunters” are evil. They proclaim the truth that many might not be aware of or that could help someone not stumble. A webcaster or owner of a website should be doing the same thing, Should he not. You have a huge weight on your shoulders, you don’t ever want to post something that could cause someone to stumble, we all will have our time w/ the Lord on Judgement day. Our hearts must stay pure and our love and forgiveness for our brothers and sisters must be also intact. You are my brother, I forgive you for wanting to state that I am a heresy hunter.

Thank you for the kind words,

  85. Christ had already taught that all prayer is foundational upon whether what is asked is in the Will of the Father. The Apostles knew that at this time in Mathew Chapter 18. In no way does that scripture regarding two or three together involve having their prayers answered in a way that is not Biblical..nor does it disregard what had been taught earlier concerning that “God’s Will” is foundation to all prayer.

That which is asked for still has to be in the Will of the Father…and if it is….The Father will answer that prayer. He likes us to gather to pray, because He likes us to weigh in on things….He likes to see what we desire….He is watching us. And, as Roger said, it can be encouraging for others participating…because people on the most part are followers….sheep…most find their security within the crowd.

In Mathew 18 there are several separate topics being exponded upon by Jesus to his Apostles. It started with what human is greatest in Heaven…which He answered by showing them a little child…and teaching on being teachable/humble like a little child, and having the ability to believe like a child, and how precious the innocent child is to the Heavenly Realm….that it would be better to cut one’s hand, arm, eye, foot off if it might be involved in harming one of them, or leading them estray, because the punishment is hell fire. Than Christ transitions into the lost sheep teaching….than the trespassing brother teaching.

Christ is teaching His Apostles who He knows are in His Will. The topic of church discipline ended at Math.18:17.

A new topic was started by Christ concerning His Apostles who He gave authority to at that time on earth. He was telling them that He had given them this authority to bind things on earth and loose things on earth….and Heaven would sanctify those actions. Just like a cop here on earth….that cop can bind and loose things…but He has to remain in the authority of the Law of the Lands. It is given that this knowlege was known by those being instructed by Jesus. Not everyone is an Apostle. There is a special authority that they have….which is reflective of where they are in the Will of God. A man does not become an Apostle via his own appointment of self. That Apostle authority comes from above. My opinion. Not every tom, dick and harry on the TV stage, or on a religious “stage” anywhere, has the authority that they think they do, claiming that they are an apostle with the ability to speak it, bind it, etc. If their self appointment causes any of the innocent to be led estray,….well Christ talked about that in this same Chapter of Mathew.

Apostleship is based on the internal spirit of the man, the condition of his heart….and it better be very simular to that little child’s that was sitting on Christ’s lap…looking up at Him.

Than Jesus said: “For where two or three (here I think He is refering to Believers) are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” He was not saying that those 2 or 3 will get what they wished for or prayed for…but that He would come within their midst via the Holy Spirit….and hopefully if they were listening to the Holy Spirit in their midst they would know what to pray for!!!!

Than, Apostle Peter, changes the subject to: How many times should he forgive someone who trespasses against him. And, Jesus begins the teaching how we will be held accountable for all of our debts by God if we hold others accountable for their debts against us….without forgiving them. He does not like hypocrites!

Roger….clear your mind….and picture most of the city of Sodom, repenting and gathering together in prayer to ask forgiveness of God. Do you think He would have went ahead and destroyed the city….or would He have been moved to hold His Hand?

I totally appreciate secret prayer, and constant prayer within the closet of our mind…..but if those in Sodom had gathered together it might have affected others to gather also in fear of the Lord…and who knows what would have happened. Wasn’t Jonah successful in that city he went to against his will, because God forced the issue? Didn’t that city hear, and gather and repent?

Jonah 3:5=So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.

Jonah 3:8= (The king asking his people to gather and pray) But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.

Jonah 3:10=And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

    That was organized prayer.

There is a ministry here in the US that is reaching out as a WITNESS to our leaders here and to the residents of Palestine, and the people in Israel. Directly contacting them with Biblical Scripture and prophesy that is in the Bible. Why? Because when these things start happening, they want the folks to know that our God is God and fortold these things, and that Christ is the Messiah of the Jews. I got notice of this ministry in the mail and what they are urgently doing now. Sending info to every member of our governing body in Washington DC….and they have sent information to every Jew that lives in Palestine. For whatever reason, my eyes filled with tears when I read of their efforts. I think they are being moved by God to do these things. They are going to open a Bible School in Israel also. Their website is below. They are pentecostal and I don’t agree with all of their doctrine…but I watch their works…and ignore the man labels. Irvin Baxter is the first TV teacher that I have heard teach on the 7th trump rapture…and I know that is true and scriptural….so I started looking into his ministry. I like the part that they are doing that I mentioned above, because it is inline with my understanding of what we are supposed to be doing…..it is why God warned us in the Bible.

I am not trying to say you are speaking “lies” Nicole.

I am saying that when someone reads a whole article encouraging people to PRAY TOGETHER because things are so DESPERATE – and pointing to a whole slew of different groups that are doing so – it seems a bit “off” to me when the first response is to go through all those groups trying to find the one that has some links with “heresy”.

In other words, forgetting all the “good” in the article and focusing instead on any little “associations” you can dig up that put the whole thing in a bad light. Digging up the “dirt” – hunting for the “heresy links”, desperate to focus on the ugliness if you can find it.

There is something very WRONG – and I mean Deeply, deeply WRONG with that approach to life.

I believe “Heresy hunting” is the “other ditch” that so many fall into.

You will ALWAYS find some reason to cast around the word “heresy”. They did this with Jesus. He was a total “Heretic” according to the leaders. So was just about every true Revivalist in history, according to the Heresy Hunters of the day.

The attitude is wrong, the spirit of it is wrong, the mindset is “off”.

Please do not bring it on here.

    Bless you!

    Andrew Strom.

  87. Andrew – whether the ‘quotes’ you post have any impact or not, is between the recipient and Almighty God. If you have posted as led by Lord Jesus, be encouraged – you have been obedient. :-)

You have sown ‘seeds’, others may ‘water’, the Holy Spirit will provide the revelation unto harvest.

    ********

Kevin phoned to bring this to my attention:
..and thankyou Nicole for posting this ‘Spurgeon’ quote earlier:

I would not for a moment say anything to retard Christian unity, but there is something before unity, and that is “truth in the inward parts” and honesty before God.

This truth, concerning ‘truth before unity’ is important to God – there is nothing hidden that will not be exposed – should we compromise truth for unity..? Obviously not.

I copied this in a previous post – which clearly explains the ‘dishonesty’ many have before God, saying He is Lord of their lives, yet living a lie, by denying that Lordship of Christ Jesus over every area of their life..

“The nature of Christ’s salvation is woefully misrepresented by the present-day evangelist. He announces a Savior from Hell rather than a Savior from sin. And that is why so many are fatally deceived, for there are multitudes who wish to escape the Lake of fire who have no desire to be delivered from their carnality and worldliness.” – A.W. Pink

  88. Andrew Jun 22nd 2012

If anyone is for “Truth in the inward parts”, I am. And I have made a lot of enemies in doing so.

But I stand by my statement that an addiction to “combing through” everything with a nit comb – searching, searching for the ‘heresy’ is a totally unchristian way to live.

It is totally out of balance. The “other ditch”. And I also think it is something of an “addiction” for some.

    Bless you!

    Andrew

  89. Nicole….I would be very careful regarding the “mix” that you speak of….because we are all still upon this earth….and none but Jesus Christ was PURE. We have the Holy Spirit within us to keep us on track….and to get us back on track when we slip up….but that does not mean we or any ministry is perfect….because all organizations on earth are ran by man….and there is no perfect man here.

Our understanding are not perfect….do not confuse them with the Truth of Christ. Many a “heresy hunter” has caused burning at the stake of innocent people with their lust and hatred that their labels encouraged. We should not apply those labels to anyone that is still pointing towards Jesus Christ….no matter how limited their understandings. We should point out their scriptural error, but not call them an heretic. Call it foolishness, and deceit, call it vain glory, call the prophesies false, address the details of that ministry.

Of interest a dictionary defines “heretic” as: Heretic: a holder or adherent of an opinion or belief that contradicts established religious teaching; somebody whose opinions, beliefs, or theories in any field are considered by others in that field to be extremely unconventional or unorthodox.

Having read that I decided to see what the Bible said about that particular label. Guess what? I went to the HTML Bible Word Search on the internet and searched in all the versions of the Bible.

    http://www.htmlbible.com/cgi-bin/search/search.pl

None of them have that word. I would avoid it and stick to the details of their behavior.

I would love it if anyone on this forum would give me some scripture where this heretic subject is being discussed so I could learn more.

  90. Claudia – rhetorical question regarding Sodom, isn’t it..? :-)

    I will share my understanding:
If any individual in Sodom had repented from their heart, confessed their sin to Almighty God and turned to Him in recognition, belief and acceptance that He is indeed Almighty God – yes, that individual would have been saved.

I believe, like you, that if ALL the inhabitants of Sodom, had each repented individually, they would have ALL been saved – but only if each individual repented from the heart, and turned in recognition to God.

My question is this – is that prayer ‘organised’ by man, or by the Holy Spirit..?

The truth is that only heart prayer ‘organised’ by Lord Jesus, through the Holy Spirit – is acceptable to God.

If there were some who ‘prayed’ that way, without that heart repentance, where is the truth from the heart..? where is that honesty before God..?

We each need that revelation from Lord Jesus through the Holy Spirit, the drawing, the conviction to repent and change our ‘ways’.

I appreciate the discussion Claudia :-)

    In His love,
    Roger

  91. Andrew – you said:
..If anyone is for “Truth in the inward parts”, I am. And I have made a lot of enemies in doing so…

Please forgive me, I wasn’t suggesting otherwise – the second part of that comment, under the ****** was intended for all. :-)

    In His love, Roger

  92. I can recall scriptures in the Bible where we are told to get out of them….but those scriptures were concerning false gods being worshipped, or practices such as passing one’s children through the fire, and such. Those scriptures were referring to organizations that were not pointing towards the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ for our Sins and for our Salvation and that He is the Only Door….the Only Way.

I am responsible for my walk with Christ….but I would not encourage anyone else to follow me….but to follow Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit according to their ability to see, and their maturity. I would not tear anyone out of Christ’s arms if they found him in a body that was pointing towards Christ.

If I were in one of those churches I would stand and quietly point out what was not scriptural or of Christ to those in authority…that would be my duty….but I would not label them heretics, unless they were saying that Jesus was not the Son of God, or that He was not come here on earth in the Flesh, or that His death was not enough to cover my Sin, and doctrines of Christ, only.

Are any of those churches doing that?

The word “heretic” probably came from the churches that were burning innocent folks at the stake in the middle ages….because of the man doctrine within the church, and at the direction of the dragon.

  93. Nicole Jun 22nd 2012

I didn’t call myself a heresy hunter, I was quoting something that Andrew spoke of and he was referring to me.

    Andrew WROTE

And Nicole – we have had this conversation before many times. If an article praising God for the rise of many different Prayer groups across America is somehow “heresy” then I’ll eat my hat.

When all you do is mostly focus on “heresy hunting” then you have already fallen into the ditch on the other side.

    ________________________________________________________________________________________

I commented and thanked him and forgave him.

    MY COMMENT WAS THIS

I forgive you for wanting to state that I am a heresy hunter.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________
Once again, this is not about me, you, Claudia, or Andrew or anyone, This is about truth. And the fact that the article is part of dominion unity and those that have been apart of it, and were removed from it, have spoken up about it and they have warned all that reads this website.

I have left plenty of websites for people to read what is going on , as did some others, that have now left. One can choose to read them and Go unto the Lord, humble themselves, at all costs and wait upon HIM, wait upon the Holy Spirit to lead.,

or they can just read every article that soots them and makes them feel good and not question it or the links and those that are leading it.

JUDGEMENT IS AT THE DOOR FOR AMERICA!!! AMERICA HAD A CHANCE TO COME BACK IN THE 90’S AND AFTER 9/11. BUT NO SHE RAN AFTER PROSPERITY AND OPEN SIN. THE NATION HAS GONE SO FAR THAT SHE IS A STENCH IN THE NOSTRILS OF GOD AND WILL BE REMOVED EVER SO SOON. IT’S AS JOSIAH WHO TURNED WITH HIS WHOLE HEART AND THE NATION CAME BACK, BUT THE JUDGEMENT WAS SET AGAINST JUDAH AND SO IS IT WITH AMERICA. SHE HAS GONE DOWN THAT SLIPPER SLOP AND THEIR IS NO COMING BACK FOR THE HAND OF GOD HAS BEEN REMOVED AND EVEN NOW JUDGEMENT IS BEING POURED OUT UPON THE LAND. JUST LOOK AT THE ESCALATION A NATURAL DISASTERS SINCE 2008. GOD IS CALLING HIS REMNANT TO REPENT AND TO COME AFTER THE LORD WITH THEIR WHOLE HEARTS. LOOK UP FOR OUR REDEMPTION IS DRAWING CLOSE. OH YEAH, AMERICA IS NOT MENTIONED IN THE END TIMES EXCEPT AS BABYLON WHO FALLS IN ONE DAY AND ONE HOUR! HER POLLUTION FINALLY EXTENGUISHED FROM THE PLANET!

  95. Teshuva Jun 22nd 2012

    Wallytron101
I went to search the scriptures and could not find America anywhere in the Bible, much less end times.
If my faith was in America, I might be afraid, but since my faith is in God then I am sure He will protect me, as He is my fortress and high tower.

  96. And…..who determines if the prayer offerred up by those attending the group prayer…or participating at home in the group prayer at a certain time is not heart felt? God, is the answer.

If a child who didn’t understand all the foolishness within the leadership of that church were to attend that prayer meeting or gathering,,,,,would that child’s heart felt prayer automatically be dismissed because of those who organized the prayer? I don’t think so. That prayer would still reach the Lord, and He would note that prayer….just as He collects all the prayers from those who were martyred and will be.

Would you, Nicole, prevent that child from praying with the group? Or, that adult, whose soul was innocent like a childs? Would you dare to turn even one prayer away from God? I, personally would not even dare to turn away the dragon’s prayer to God. That is not my place.

Each of our prayers are collected by God….He is Eternal….not in our locked in time zone. A Great Mystery. I would not want to discourage any prayer from being offerred to Him. My Lord is more than capable of sifting through the prayers.

I would prefer it if we allowed God to put the labels on that will last and are truth….as He is the only One that is capable of seeing within the heart of man.

Would you dare to prevent the sinner from praying because you see no evidence of repentence in his life?

I would think that would be between the one who prays and the One who receives the prayer. Don’t you?

How many do you think you may have discouraged from praying by your labels put upon the individuals within the organization…which, even if true…. really have nothing to do with the prayers offerred to God…at all?

  97. Teshuva….there is a possibility that the two wings of an eagle, especially those that were removed from the lion may refer to America, as also the two wings that the woman in Revelation was given so that she could fly to the Wilderness and be kept safe. At the time of John….the continent that contains America was on the other side of the world…and was known eventually by man to be referred to as the Wilderness. I cannot prove my belief/understanding, and you cannot disprove them. We will have to wait and see!

Also the land divided by many rivers….I looked on a world map once and the continent of America is so divided by rivers. I was trying to see what land was being spoken about by the prophet, speaking God’s words. Had not “coin” in wanting it to be America. Just was curious. That is where my eye found the most rivers dividing the land.

You are right….the word “America” is not mentioned in the Bible. Just as the word “heretic” is not mentioned in the Bible.

    Don’t mean nutten.

  98. Teshuva Jun 22nd 2012

All I know is the earth is the Lords and the fulness thereof, and if the meek inherit the earth, then why do people want to say that it is off the map, extinguished from the planet, etc and so on. If my heart is right with God then nothing else matters. PRAYER was the thing to do just that- it changed me, and not necessarily the circumstances around me, and yet it is ever changing me.
Matter of fact, the end of my world came when He came on the scene. Everything I thought was right whether it was or not was made desolate so that he could garnish His temple the way He wanted to.
Prayer does this– it changes people, and when people change then atmospheres change and when atmospheres change then others change, and it seems to cycle like that.

  99. Roger…I like your sense of humor! ;-)

Remember the angels and the Lord that visited Abraham, and Abraham was bartering with the Lord concerning Sodom? Abraham kept reducing the number of righteous individuals that could be found in Sodom that would prevent the angels from destroying it. You will note in scripture below it was not just the righteous that would be spared…but the entire place.

GENESIS 18: 22=And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD. 23=And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? 24=Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? 25=That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? 26=And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes. 27=And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the LORD, which am but dust and ashes: 28=Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it. 29=And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty’s sake.30=And he said unto him, Oh let not the LORD be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there.31=And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the LORD: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty’s sake.32=And he said, Oh let not the LORD be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten’s sake.33=And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.

I would repeat….I personally would not want to prevent anyone from offering prayers to God…under any circumstances…..because only God can judge the heart of the one doing the prayer…or the value of that prayer, and there may actually be a count…being taken in Heaven. Aint worth the risk! ;-)

Christ did not chose a fine Tennessee Walker horse to ride into Jerusulem on….he chose what seemed of little value…a little humble ass. Note: A Tennessee Walker is a very obedient minded horse. A donkey is noted for being cantakerous and stubborn. One has to train a donkey much differently than a willing Tennessee Walker horse….but that donkey was of good value to Christ. Let Him be the judge.

Let us let Him determine the value of our gathering to pray for repentence and His Will….and for whatever else may be on the heart of the one praying.

  100. Andrew….?

Please forgive us for our trespasses against you….tho we may not have realized what we were doing. I don’t want to hurt or cause pain to anyone.

I pray that God blesses all your endeavors, because your heart is very large for Him.

  101. A great big AMEN to your post, Teshuva!

Prayer does change people, sometimes it is the spark that sets the fire going…and the winds of God can turn it into an uproar!

Yes….the meek inherit the earth….after Christ teaches the last one that is humble in the Mellinnium….who accepts the Will of God over their own will.

  102. Nicole posted this ‘Spurgeon’ quote earlier, which Roger quoted . ;

“I would not for a moment say anything to retard Christian unity, but there is something before unity, and that is “truth in the inward parts” and honesty before God.”

When considering Spurgeon’s quote , Lord Jesus Christ is truth, and is the true foundation, without which there can be no true unity, for unity comes through His Spirit.

    ++++

    Andrew replied,

“If anyone is for “Truth in the inward parts”, I am. And I have made a lot of enemies in doing so.”

I agree with your comment Andrew.
Anyone who stands for truth is going to make enemies.

Mat 10:34 “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
Mat 10:35 For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
Mat 10:36 And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household.
Mat 10:37 Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Mat 10:38 And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

    ++++

The truth of the real Jesus is the sword that divides true from false and causes people to choose.

It is clear that many who come in the name of Jesus don’t know Him.

Mat 7:22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’
Mat 7:23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

This mixture is the root of much contention and division, and we are all in our way seeking the truth.

  103. Meaning that if we all seek out the real Jesus, the Holy Spirit within, that confirms the written word, then we will all be bought into unity by the one true Spirit that is our risen and ruling Lord Jesus Christ

  104. Regarding the article about prayer;

When Paul was in jail and his enemies were preaching the gospel to make trouble for him, he was not concerned as the gospel was still being preached, so we could all see the same with prayer , regardless of the motives of those praying , for prayer will bring more of God into our lives, even if it isn’t in the way we were expecting .

  105. 2 Chronicles 20:1-30 is a good example of corporate prayer and waiting on God… :-)

    Acts 1 & 2 is another one…

    Do we want this?

Or do we want to die?

    It really is that simple…

Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary. (Isaiah 40:31 NASB)

If we will not seek the Lord then we don’t deserve to be on earth…

If we will not come into unity with others who love our Lord Jesus Christ with all their heart, soul, strength and mind (not to say that either they or we are perfect but our hearts are in the right place) then we do not belong on this earth…

If the salt has lost its saltiness with what can it be salted again?

If we are not the light of the world then the Lord needs to get rid of us and find someone else who will be…

    It really is that serious…

I have never spoken like this before (well I have once before come to think of it) but it is just coming out of my heart…

But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another. (Galatians 5:15 NASB)

We are to be laying down our lives in Intercession and begging God to have Mercy on the Christian Church on this earth – those who truly know Him – and if we are not prepared to do that then there really is no purpose for us here at this point of time…

We may as well be dead…

If we are not laying down our lives to see His Church become all that He has wanted us to be – and be in unity with each other all around the world – including meeting with one another and relating to one another as He has told us and demonstrated for us in the Book of Acts – then there is no purpose for us to be here…

And we shouldn’t be surprised if He were to remove us completely…

    This is a sober word…

What is the purpose for us to be here if we will not obey Him and repent to Him for what we – His Ambassadors – have allowed this world to become?

    We overcome evil with good…

If those organising the prayer events “in the Name of the Lord” are found to be lying to the Holy Spirit – woe betide them…

If the Lord gives us a peace to be involved with an organised prayer event or gathering which is seeking God for genuine Revival, i.e. a return to Him with all our heart, soul, strength and mind, then we should be a part of it not expecting it to be perfect and while we’re there we’ll feel if it is really pleasing to the Holy Spirit or not – there may be aspects which we cannot agree with and the Lord will show us this – if we go with the right heart we will be protected by the Lord…

Our hearts should always be to unite with our other brothers and sisters to petition God for Revival – for Him to come and be Glorified in His Church…

    Nothing else has any value…

Nothing (where we are at right now)…

This is “do or die” stuff…

If we, the Christian Church, do not do this now, in this season, then we will go down…

We will not be spared when the Lord comes in Judgement…

He is offering us Mercy, are we willing to humble ourselves to cry out to Him for it?

    Are we?

  106. Teshuva….I see now that I mistakenly addressed you, thinking you were responding to my first statement about America! Sorry! I see that you were defending America from the labels that Wallytron was applying.

    Thank you!

I wonder why no one thinks to weave in some of the other nations around the world into their prophetic evaluations…those who have openly stated that they want to destroy those who believe in anything other than their god? Hmmmm?

America and the world has alot to repent for….and the coming world wide economic collapse will be a good environment for that repentence to happen….when we have to rely on the love of others, and helping others…throwing pride aside. But as i said before….look around….look at China….killing all the girl babies…a land of millions of statues….remember that in the Bible?

But…it is probably more comfortable to let one’s secret covetness lead their prophetic statements…even tho America would be the first in line to help your country or you as an individual if you were struck by a disaster…Wallytron.

Oh, yes…and Wallytron…look up where those natural disasters have been occuring since 2008…that might open your eyes a bit….maybe clear some of the hatred that is dwelling in your heart.

  107. Nicole….I am aware that it was Andrew that used that phrase. I then read through all of your posts and my post was based on what you said in your posts….which were discouraging of offering prayers within a group that you did not consider pure enough.

As I said before….I would not even attempt to discourage the dragon from praying. It is not about the group when it comes to prayer.

The fact is….that when I read the definition of “heretic” it did apply to the labels you are putting upon the dominion movement….rightly or wrongly. My point is that “heretic” is a man made label.

  108. Andrew J Horton; Just as I was getting ready to retire I read your stunning call!

    AMEN….AMEN!

Can you imagine uniting in prayer, and praying that all of us praying are touched by God that their our eyes are opened! Oh, the repentence that would cause. We can all stand to have our eyes opened wider and wider!
